  • Box breathing can help to reduce stress and improve focus. The technique involves inhaling for a count of four, holding the breath for a count of four, exhaling for a count of four, and then holding (or pausing) the breath again for a count of four.
    The technique is usually done while sitting or standing in a comfortable position, and can be practiced for several minutes at a time.
    Box breathing is also known as square breathing.
