The regular videos on this channel are already chill, happy, and relaxing. This new series is reaching chill levels that make me feel I should be on a tropical beach, with a cocktail watching this video.
The fancy setup is a nice bonus but, ultimately, I'm here just to learn about coding so if this more simple setup allows you to create more videos, I'll be happy to watch this kind of videos, too.
I have always wanted a way to do videos from home and also something in a more "relaxed" setting so this is my attempt. Ideally this won't reduce the number of videos but just offer more variety.
@@TheCodingTrain how about you teach these kids math like probability theory \ statistics step-by-step in order to, someday, actually teach them machine learning properly instead of the "populistic" approach most of the people out there on youtube do?
@@quasa0 You can get that elsewhere. This site is teaching generative art and along the way they are learning programming and maths. The art is what what will pull people in.
Coding and having a garden go really well together.. after being there dealing with abstract things, taking care of plants and see them grow feels like the total opposite. Keep up the awesome channel Dan!
A new Coding Train series with multiple cameras, a nice chalkboard, a professional microphone and a cool cabana??? I'm in heaven😄 I thought this channel couldn't get any better!😁
Really nice change of pace and environment, and nice to see some shorter coding challenge-type things again. Would be good to see more of these with maybe a series of different themes like patterns, games, maps etc.
OF COURSE dan has a garden like that with fruits, vegetables and roses on his garden! He is such a wholesome person and it fits very well the happy and fun and kind person he is! I like the chaos in the live-streams and more non structured videos, but this is definitely a very nice addition to the format! I’ll love to watch more videos like this :)
If you're attempting this in Processing, there's no AngleMode function. So just keep the for loop in radians, like so: for (float i = 0; i < TWO_PI; i += (TWO_PI / 360)) { float k = i * d; float r = 250 * sin(n*k); float x = r * cos(k); float y = r * sin(k); vertex(x, y); }
Definitely a good change of pace. I think the main thing is how it is for you. If you find it easier to code (not on a live stream) in a less formal setting... But yes, the new set is good.
Gardening and coding...two of my favourite things in a single video... And you are asking weather I like it ?.... I loved it... Keep bringing surprises like this... Always been a fan of your coding style... 🌹
I like this alot, especially the length. I do enjoy the longer videos too, but this setup works perfectly for short videos. I hope you will keep this experiment going!!
Hi Dan, I just wanted to say I am a fan of both styles of video and think they both have a place. The Coding Train videos are more "formal" and lend themselves to series or multi-part series that feel very instructor-lead. The cabana is more personal and I think well suited to quick demonstrations or one-off explorations of ideas. At least, that's my thoughts on it. Thanks for all you do, you've been an inspiration to me in the classroom. Keep up the great work!
It doesn't really matter much where you are Dan, we dig what you do & how you do it. Hell, you could even make vids while riding the subway. Idea, coding train(literally) underground !
Man I have my own mini vegetable patch too, but I use it to stay away from the keyboard! This video is one of the most oddly chilling and cozy things I've watched in a while...
A little rough but enjoyable. This format would be great for small fun projects that might revisit past concepts, explore random concepts, and other programming experiments that don't lend themselves to longer streams. Interesting aesthetics with the home and garden type cuts. Hope to see more.
Mathematica’s caption for the Maurer Rose images gives a detailed analysis of how a Maurer Rose is constructed. The caption for the Starr Rose images says “A Starr Rose is a geometric figure that looks like the images above” ..... thanks a lot Mathematica Also I really enjoyed this video setip
I love your longer videos, but this is a great format, feels like it should be on Saturday morning tv in between cartoons when one is shorter than the full slot 👌🏽
I am 14 seconds in (slightly exaggerating) and I am already loving the new vibe and direction. Congrats! It feels like an episode of This Old House or (as previously mentioned) Bob Ross. Great editing and production!
Gardening tip: Start a compost pile! So simple, fun, and earth-friendly. We use the Earth Machine (tm), great for small urban yards. Also, I'm worried about watching P5JS instead of ES6 (what I learned), hope they're not too different. Thanks!
This format/series would be really nice for some simpeler coding challenges like what you did right now. It isn't to complex so you didn't really need the big whiteboard. This is also way more relaxing to watch for fun instead of learning new complex things
Delightful video! It felt like being in the cabana allowed you to remain focused on this small project. (Having the chat to look at/get advice from is convenient, but often feels like you're being distracted.) This was a nice, concise little project. If anything, as others have said, maybe switching to a standard, small white board would be an improvement to eliminate the scratching sound of that (chalk?) board. Please continue with this series!
DAN! Gardening thru the winter is honestly kinda trickyy. Most plants cue their flowering seasons in response to changes in temperature but they vary wildly among plants and can be hella counterintuitive. For example tulips will ONLY bloom when it's cold, which is why some people have to put them in refrigerators to make them grow properly. Just be careful not to accidentally keep a plant warm that actually needed to be in the cold. Also don't ask me why or how I know any of this, cuz I have 0 idea.
This is amazing! If would be nice to start a mini project and finish it here, at the cabana. Maybe a mini RPG game? Great videos, man, they make me happy and willing to learn more.
each time I watch your videos, I tell myself: "Dude, that's awesome, I want to replicate that on my own website", with a lot of excitement. But then I realized I don't have a website yet... I like your idea of changing the place ^^

This dude is full of wisdom and relaxing, this is the content i wanna see every time i open yt
Your garden is lovely!! { 🌱🌳🌹 🍅}
Thank you CJ! I hope you will come and visit sometime!
When Coding Train becomes the Coding Garden - hello CJ
I really enjoy your live streams but I like this more. No camera fighting, no constant chat breaks. This was lovely.
Coding and having a garden go really well together.. after being there dealing with abstract things, taking care of plants and see them grow feels like the total opposite.
Keep up the awesome channel Dan!
I’m yet to experience this concept of “after” 🙃
I guess I’m a little obsessive though 😅
Daniel, you're a Master. I love you and the way you are. Best teacher ever in the programming world.
A new Coding Train series with multiple cameras, a nice chalkboard, a professional microphone and a cool cabana??? I'm in heaven😄
I thought this channel couldn't get any better!😁
This is so amazing. I love the mood
Yeah, its calm ,soothing and peacefully :)
The absolute most wholesome programmer in existence
8:26 "Look we did the Maurer rose, Ding, train whistle, all that stuff", I don't know why but that part always makes me laugh
The most wholesome wonderful thing I have ever watched. You are an international treasure.

Honestly without you most people wouldn’t be coding, you’re a big inspirer
The art pulls in people with no programming experience and they learn to code and pick up some maths along the way.
Thanks Dan, as usual what you share works in any format since it's made with deep passion and love for sharing.
Happy little Maurer Rose
The audio on this is really pleasant.
I love the way you think and the way you teach, your videos are incredibly inspiring. Thank you very much for what you do.

More of these videos please... Bring back this series!
Definitely a good change of pace. I think the main thing is how it is for you. If you find it easier to code (not on a live stream) in a less formal setting... But yes, the new set is good.
It's nice to see more flowers (even in code) and greenery...
Gardening and coding...two of my favourite things in a single video... And you are asking weather I like it ?.... I loved it... Keep bringing surprises like this... Always been a fan of your coding style... 🌹
It looks very peaceful and the ending was good too
Love the new format please make more and include some peeks into your garden!
I like this alot, especially the length. I do enjoy the longer videos too, but this setup works perfectly for short videos. I hope you will keep this experiment going!!
You are really inspiring. You help keep me coding! Your energy and personality are brilliant! Thank you.

You are the greatest teacher I've ever had! Thank you so much sir!!
This video is a treasure. Love your channel, Dan!
Ahh you are so close to 900K subscribers! Congrats man! You deserve it! Best coding teacher on UA-cam :)
Man I have my own mini vegetable patch too, but I use it to stay away from the keyboard! This video is one of the most oddly chilling and cozy things I've watched in a while...
I knew a person who lived in a disconnected wooden train carriage left in their lush backyard - that was both a train and a cabana!
All the best with Cabana series Daniel !
I like you enthusiasm you make me excited to just code
I am looking forward to using this as inspiration for something similar. You brighten my day, thanks!
Absoloutley loved this video! Shows that you do not need any major setup to be awesome!
Hadn't watched one of your videos in a while, i love your mood.
Simply, peaceful, entertaining, educational. The perfect mix for students and programmers. Thank you
A little rough but enjoyable. This format would be great for small fun projects that might revisit past concepts, explore random concepts, and other programming experiments that don't lend themselves to longer streams. Interesting aesthetics with the home and garden type cuts. Hope to see more.
Thanks for the feedback!!
Love it! Always love the energy I’ve learned so much from you and your content. Can’t wait to see where the cabana or any other ideas you have go. 🤙
I was really entertained by this informative video, thank you for your time and effort. 👍👍👍
Love this!! Such a great idea for a series. So relaxing.
Finally you're back! Thank you...a really beautiful episode!
Very refreshing, I love the setup, and your garden looks really nice !
Mathematica’s caption for the Maurer Rose images gives a detailed analysis of how a Maurer Rose is constructed. The caption for the Starr Rose images says “A Starr Rose is a geometric figure that looks like the images above” ..... thanks a lot Mathematica
Also I really enjoyed this video setip
I'll have to look into this!
Wow not since the days of Bugs Bunny has Brooklyn looked so good. Dan you are a treasure. Thank you.
I love your longer videos, but this is a great format, feels like it should be on Saturday morning tv in between cartoons when one is shorter than the full slot 👌🏽
loved the episode!, it was so relaxed! keep up the great work!
This was great! More of the Cabana programming videos!
I appreciate your innovations on making contents, Dan!!!
Love this more simple setup. Definitely try this again
I love this format it's so relaxed and lovely. Looking forward to more episodes ♥️
God those black boards sends chills down my spine when you write on them. Great video though !
I just love it Dan! Great video.
I am 14 seconds in (slightly exaggerating) and I am already loving the new vibe and direction. Congrats! It feels like an episode of This Old House or (as previously mentioned) Bob Ross. Great editing and production!
Can you PLEASE code a complex fourier series/ circle function that draws a certain shape? That would be so cool
I did! ua-cam.com/video/7_vKzcgpfvU/v-deo.html (there are also parts 1 and 2 which build up to this.)
Thanks!
Thank you for your generous support!!
This change is refreshing! i love it.
Anurag Hazra Thank you!
Best video of yours I've ever watched...very relaxing
Wonderful idea, i really enjoy this calm and relaxed format!
This channel is so wonderful.
I thought I couldn't enjoy your videos more. Love this new series 👍
love this format! :D nice garden and roses :)

We do have a compost! Thanks for the comment!

This episode was truly wonderful! So calming
This is such a cool idea!! What about generative art based on your findings in your garden?? Generative feathers, beetles, leaves, butterfly flight!
I second this great idea. Coding projects inspired by the lovely garden
So wholesome and calming, i lov it 😌
That intro. Amazing!
I thought UA-cam was recommending an old video again until I saw 5 min ago!
So inspiring :) thank you for motivating and putting a smile on my face !!!

Really great episode ! Going to love this series for sure.
thanks for these videos they are really helpful
Love the new series!
You are just a " legend " just 👏
Please keep doing these cabana vids.
Ciao from Italy! Very relaxing place
The way you walked into the Cabana was so innocent.
The Coding Train x New Yankee Workshop crossover we didn't know we needed!
This is wonderful! Thanks Dan.
this is the best show on youtube
Love the new setting! I do miss the whiteboard tho :)
This is amazing! If would be nice to start a mini project and finish it here, at the cabana. Maybe a mini RPG game? Great videos, man, they make me happy and willing to learn more.
Like it very much, keep it in Cabana!!!!
We need more coding in the cabana 🌷
Great video! Love the new format, keep it up!
As a occasional video I'd definitely watch this! So peaceful and quick. Maybe do the easier tasks on this format?
Daniel, big fan of yours!!! it was really fun on the cabana ambient, if it inspires you, it did for me, keep up doing them there!!!
take care :D
Hi Deniel, what about teach us how to code iot for your automatics garden?
each time I watch your videos, I tell myself: "Dude, that's awesome, I want to replicate that on my own website", with a lot of excitement.
But then I realized I don't have a website yet...
I like your idea of changing the place ^^
This was so soothing!
love the new format!!
Awesome format... Thank you...
Love this cabana
