- This video looks at the Portland Trail Blazers and how they are absolutely genius after the Damian Lillard trades by resetting their young core around Shaedon Sharpe, Scoot Henderson and Anfernee Simons
Shaedon Sharpe has huge potential, his dunk is crazy
Young Kobe
@@nate589Vince Carter
Unbelievable potential
Scoot & Sharpe have crazy potential & Simons was Dames protégé before he left
He has MASSIVE upside and hell he even has a decent jump shot.
Bruh as a Charlotte Hornets fan seeing what Portland just did… So much Respect but Envy… 👏🏼 Good just Portland.
**Good Job Portland
Real recognize real
Son. They got Aton and Rob Williams. They're guard and wing positions are pretty much on lock. They drafted impeccably (Scoot fell in their laps, no brainerr) I think the Blazers did one Hell of a job rebuilding on the fly........ I think they will be good ,. Should be good, sooner than later............ALSO,. They may not have granted Dame's wishes but they %100 did him right where they sent him to.... They did him oh so right.
So it's like he got dissed and blessed at the same time
And Miami thought Herro and a couple of late picks would get Dame lol
Yeah, as a Blazers fan, Miami definitely thought Dame wasn't worth much....they just forgot or likely didn't give a rats ass that he was a Top 75 player and Blazers all-time points leader....plus he scored career high 71.
@@jasonhughes1463 I heard their owner is cheap AF b/c of some money issues.....which is why they were never serious about the Dame trade.
@@sw1217This isn’t the first time Pat Riley fumbled the bag. His greed and arrogance is second to none in this league.
I think Jabari Walker will flourish this season off the bench for the Blazers. I have him off the bench before Rupert. Rupert will need time, was solid in patches last season in the NBL against men but I don't think he's ready for the jump just yet
Playing a three guard lineup, Williams' defensive versatility will be very useful. Scoot and Sharpe though. If those guys can avoid injury then they're going to be unstoppable in a few years. They both have next next level athleticism. Simons shot 38% from three on NINE attempts a game last season. He's on his way to becoming the best three point shooter in the league. If he keeps that volume and kicks it up to 40/41% then he'll become a Dame/Curry level threat on the arc. Teams will have to prepare for him and when they do Sharpe and Scoot will be unstoppable down the lane. Sharpe isn't actually a bad shooter himself for such a young athletic freak. in five years you could be looking at John Wall 2.0 and Vince Carter 2.0 playing with Dame 2.0 if it all goes well.
Yes they compliment each other very well, Simons will stretch u out while the other two will get to the rim all day long
Scoot has a 6'9 wingspan and Shaedon has a 7ft wingspan the could easily guard 2/3 ins a lot of cases they just need to be tought how to play d and not just be Offense only players
maybe why the keep Brogdan to help the young guards learn some defense from a vets perspective
@@backyardbuckets829 ayo.... long pause lmao
Theyre gonna start thybull at 3 for defense i think
Also jerami grant is good. I doubt portland wants to trade him. He's still pretty young too
Yeah I agree about Grant. Trade him for who? He has great averages and is an athletic body. Keep him unless we can package him for Zion or something
Last year people said jerami grant was the 2nd best blazer, easy. Why nobody talking about him this year??
We did a great job with this rebuild...now just gotta put the time in!!

Hated Cronin a week ago. Love him now. I thought he just hated making moves. Turns out, he just only makes good moves where we win trades.
Fr the Cronin hate has been way overblown
“He only makes good moves where he wins trades”? See every trade he’s ever made before this Dame trade saga. No good up until this point. It’s understandable fans have been calling for his job.
@@B-Em naw, he had to fix the mistakes of the GM past. I was good with him trading CJ, Hart, etc. It's a marathon we're playing.
@@sw1217 marathons don’t automatically mean trades have to be lousy
Portland scary real scary right now
Chauncey said no one is gonna be shooting even 30 times a game haha they’re gonna be a completely different team now, they are gonna do less iso ball now that dame is gone
Remember to thank the true MVP of this offseason: Michael Jordan. Letting Scoot drop to number 3 was awful nice of him. His final parting gift before leaving the Hornets.
Both Sharpe and Scoot got that Kobe swag. This is an exciting team
Portland = Balanced scoring this year. We doing team play.
Yep
@@backyardbuckets829sharpe is better than scoot lol
Two timeline trios … I’d go for dark horse contention to get the young guys in the playoffs early in their careers. Brogdon is lightweight perfect fit with Simmons and Scoot in the Guard rotation
sick squad. will def. put some money on them
Wish Raptors management could do the same smfh get assets for Siakam
Given Brogdan's injury history, I wouldn't be suprised if the Blazers keep him on the team for the first half of the season so he can put up big numbers and prove to other teams that he is healthy in order to raise his trade value before then flipping him at or around the trade deadline. I also wouldn't be suprised of the Blazers will try to do the same thing with Robert Willliams.
Williams is only 25 and under contract for 3 years he fits their timeline and they got a few years to see how he and Ayton work out in the frontcourt so I doubt PDX is any hurry to move him. I think they'll look to move Brogdan after December when they can pair him with another player plus keeping a vet who can play both guard positions around for at least a little while makes some sense because Scoot Henderson is their only true PG on the roster other than the coach.
The way Cronin talked about Brogdon at media day sounded like he plans to keep him for the future.. They may end up trading him but wouldn’t be surprised if he sticks around when healthy he’s really valuable
@@thuggwaffle8825 They could and it wouldn't be a bad decision he is a good player who could help them on and off the court, but I wouldn't read too much into what the GM said on media day. What is he gonna say "we are gonna trade him but we want to make sure we get maximum value back for him" so long as Brogdan is on the team expect a bunch of coach speak about him as valuable member of the team going forward whether that sentiment is genuine or not.
Brogdon is definitely going to be traded at some point the might try to up his value by playing him a little while but he ultimately just takes minutes from all the young guards and no way he wants to come off the bench as the 4th guard
@@thuggwaffle8825 what did you expect Joe to say, we're going to flip his butt in a couple weeks?!?! They aren't going to waste court time on other guards as they try to develop the three young studs they have. They can get a cheaper vet to bring some leadership presence (think PJ Tucker) along with some draft assets for Brogdon.
My biggest hope for my Blazers? Billups gets this team to play some D. I’ve been a Blazers fan for over thirty years and the only time we’ve had decent D is during the jail blazers era and a lot of that had to do with Pippin joining the team.
Get some D going and we will be a threat.
"newborn baby giraffe 🦒!"
OMG 😂🤣 Funny AF BC it's true AF. 😂🤣
Die-hard Blazermaniac
here. And as far as I know, U did say SS17's (Shaedon) name correctly. Lol. Gr8 takes on your vid' Fam'.

Great stuff as usual 🔥
Keep it up!
W mans
Scoot Henderson is a lights out defender
So... wait....if we trade Dame Time and GET Time Lord... isn't that like a huge upgrade, insofar as time?
New York Knicks your next video Backyard Buckets 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤
Jabari walker will be a rotational piece for us
What's there starting five?
Simons, Brogdon, Grant, Watford, and Ayton to start. Scoot, Sharpe, thybulle, Murray, and Williams off the bench. This team is TOO deep.
Watford was waived and plays for Brooklyn
@@PRhandle if Williams and Ayton start who’s in the front court off the bench?
Watford plays for Brooklyn now
I’d start Murray at PF with Grant at the 3 and i would honestly start brogdon and simons along with Ayton. Scoot, Sharpe, Thybulle, Toumani, and Robert Williams off the bench 💪🏾
I'm so glad you said defensively they couldn't stop a soul. I'm watching the video and I'm like yeah, but they have almost no defense i swear if this guy doesn't bring that up lol. I've seen the blazers have one of the best offenses ever before and it doesn't work without defense.
Ayton is above average defensively, Williams is elite defensively, Grant well above average on D, Scoot has the tools to be good defensively and Shaedon showed flashes of really good defense last year and Thybulle is also elite. All these players will be playing significant minutes.. The only obviously bad defender on the roster now is Simons
@@thuggwaffle8825 i see it differently. Nurk is a better defender but worse on offense. scoot is a heavy offensive player the same height as dame so expecting him to be a good defender is stupid. i agree ant sucks but Sharpe seems lost and almost non caring sometimes. i just see dame and cj again, a small 1 and 2 to be cooked defensively in the backcourt. the 2 big man combo is nice though
@@StupendousMan. Scoot is way more athletic than Dame with a much longer wingspan.. He’s also stronger than Dame ever was. And Nurkic was always out of gas by the end of the first quarter since 2019 he hasn’t been in shape at all. Ayton locked up Jokic 2 of the last 3 years in the playoffs and also proved he can defend well against stretch lineups which Nurk could never do. Shaedon did have posessions where he looked lax on defense but his athleticism is next level and he’s a solid 1 on 1 defender and blocked a lot of shots for a guard.
Williams, Thybulle, Camara are all great defenders and Grant is decent. Scoot can hold his own too.
saddle up fans. BLAZERS WILL MAKE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR !!!!! EXCITING FOR US ALL !!!
Brogdon isn't going anywhere, we need a solid pg reserve.
Miami wanted it one way but it’s the other way
Pronounced shayden sharpe, spelled shaedon sharpe
Shae Sharpe, favorite
I wonder who's going to bit on J Grant and mal
I hope they flip Grant fast. He looked super unhappy today in his interview. I don't think he's gonna be the mentor they need him to be.
@@rileymcphee9429 If the Blazers do trade Grant, I would bet it won't be until later on in the season once the trade market has had time to develop (like around the trade deadline). Same thing for Brogdan and possibly Robert Williams.
@LunaticTheCat Brogden and Timelord would be solid mentors and they seem to have the personality for it. Jerami Grant is now just an overpaid piece whose reasons for joining the team no longer exist.
I might be totally wrong about him, but I don't see a guy who's willing to play for a rebuild, like I do the other guys.
@@rileymcphee9429 As a Pistons fan, I watched Jerami Grant play with a rebuilding team. He didn't seem unwilling to play for a rebuilding team. He even seemed to be a mentoring figure on the court. But he was option 1 on our rebuilding team. I don't think he wants to be on a rebuild if he's not going to be "the guy".
As it looks, he'll be like the 3rd or 4th option on the Blazers rebuild. He's too good of a player for that, and he's just starting to hit full stride as a player.
I think at this stage, he's more interested in taking a backseat to win with better players than to be taking a backseat to lose with developing players.
@@jonathanevenboer very well said.
This team is lead by Scoot let’s get that understood
Should have got bates instead of Rupert
DA wants to be the man and if he isnt he wont even try to be productive. He already quit on a potential championship team in the playoffs.
He just doesn't want to be the 4th or 5th option like he was in Phoenix where he could go 5+ possessions without even touching the ball
@@jtthomas7349only people like you who obviously didn’t actually watch the suns, say that. He had plenty of touches and post ups. He started as a second option and played himself down to 4th.
@dr.munchmicuchi4878 He's literally never had more than the third most shots. Always falling after Booker, Paul, Bridges, KD, even Kelly Oubre got more touchsand shots when he was there. Yet it seems like most Suns fans only blame him when things don't go right.
Simons has great efficiency 😂 casual
Sharpe off the bench. Thybulle at the 3, or Williams at the 4 and Grant at the 3.
I don't expect more than some experimenting for Grant at the 3.
They're flipping the hell out of this trade.
