HOW DARE YOU GIVE AWAY OUR SECRETS!?!?!?
fr though, this video is so needed for the health of the SC content community. Reacts and news is great and all, but we're WAYYY too saturated with that kind of content.
Can't wait to see what people make with this info!
ALL THE SECRETS! I just wanna see people go crazy with it. Make things feel less scary
i love you
I’m making one right now and this COULD NOT have come at a better time, with one of my favorite creators giving an in-depth tutorial??? I am blown away and will definitely try OBS
I didn’t know how in depth the in-game camera was, this was a great tutorial! The transition at the beginning was clean af
There's so much to wrap your head around with this camera. But it can do great things once you practice a little bit :)
as an editor whose wanted to step into content creation in star citizen this video is such an amazing help!! you and so many other creators are great sources of inspiration to continue making awesome stuff!
You're a legend for doing this tutorial! The real lens controls is still crazy to me, it's so similar to actual camera functions, I love it so much! I didn't know about the difference between the scroll and the arrows!
As someone who is currently shooting a ton of B-roll and stuff in preparation to launch an SC channel - this is super valuable information and some of it I had no idea about. You just elevated my workflow and quality a ton! Thanks dude!
I've been a backer since 2014 and this is the first time I learnt that DOF adjustments are possible in the game! Thank you!
Hey dude. This is great. Thanks for the depth of field tutorial. Thanks for camera 101. Appreciate it. 😊
I've already made a couple music videos in SC and plan on doing more. This video is super helpful and gives me the motivation to get into the verse and get filming. Keep up the good work homie!
This tutorial is the single most helpful thing I have ever come across on UA-cam. Thank you so much for sharing!
Hell yeah CB!
I recently did a livestream of capturing and editing SC videos in Premiere Pro and plan to make a series of it.
We both edit in different ways, but like you said, all about how we learned and feel comfy with!
I mentioned in another video that showing your process would be great for everyone, and here it is!
Thanks for taking the time out, I recently went through school for photojournalism in the Air Force and got to do a little work with Premier and enjoyed it. I used OBS a tiny bit just getting a taste of what streaming was... and of course, have been an avid citizen taking screenshots all over. So all in all, it's great to see how close I could be to making a video or two if I wanted to pounce on the hobby. Liked and subbed. Keep it up!
Awesome video brotha, glad you decided to do a brief vid on what you use, would love to see a series of how to vids for creating quality machinima videos, like a step by step maybe or record yourself making one of your machinima videos and just explain everything your doing and then by the end we see the finished product...idk I think it would be cool to see the master at work 🤘😎, love your videos man youre one of our favorite .Star Citizen machinima creators on DG360's channel.. anyways keep up the amazing work bro, would love to see more beautiful planet and ship shots a little more in some videos but honestly man no complaints here, keep it up!😎👍
I really like the new Cinematic Special Effects in 3.22.
Use Alt + F4 and the numpad to select different special effects
Example: Alt + F4 + 9 give you green screen behind your character or ship!
Note: Do not hit Alt + F4
Hey dude, this is great. Thanks for the depth of field tutorial, thanks for camera 101, appreciate it.
;)
Fantastic info here for someone like me that's just trying to figure out it. Thank you.
Hey man great video. Just started making SC videos and I will definitely be using these tips and tricks. I have been obsessed with SC for a little over a year and have always wanted to make videos. Seeing how most poeple just make news related or "How To" videos was my inspiration to change it up and make cinematic and story telling adventures. Stumbling across You and Kalani...it's just so awesome to see the content you guys make on this game and inspires me to make my editing/story telling even better. Thanks alot and keep up the great work!
I really appreciate that :) Kalani and I talk a lot about how we wish more people made stories in their videos vs sticking to the same let's play formula. Can't wait to see what you create. IDK if you're in the discord but there's a place to share your videos and see what other small creators are up to.
Thank you SO much for this video!!!! Your shots are amazing, and to get some behind the scenes is awesome!!!
Dude, as a professional photographer, I absolutely love the controls in this game. It wasn’t that long ago that I found out that there were controls like this, and I’ve always loved the videos that you’ve done and can’t appreciate this kind of tutorial for the masses enough. You explained it beautifully, simply, and, it’s brilliant. Thanks again and can’t wait for the next one!
amazing guide, answered alot of questions ive had lately about camera stuff in game. Thanks man
Cheers man. The replay buffer is a great tip. I currently do like a 2 hour recording session then hate myself as I try to edit. Appreciate the content!
Thank you for genuinely creating one of the best possible introductions to this camera system. There is another creator who made some excellent in depth tutorials for you and anyone else watching this, i think it was KungLi . If I'm wrong, I'll come back to edit this comment and correct myself
Thank you for these tips! Really going to help me get closer to the production value that I’m aiming for 🙌🙌🙌
You beauty, I've been looking for exactly this kind of information. Love anti-gatekeeping in the creative world!
This is incredible! Thanks for the video. Would love to see more about the editing process. Would also be great to see how you capture certain shots 'live', and see what it takes/what goes through your head to find the perfect composition in different circumstances
Thanks for the in depth vid! Was curious on how to get those sick cinematic shots
Amazing overview of your process.
much appreciated.
Thanks brother. The camera tutorial alone was worth it. You da man!
Awesome dude! Thanks for sharing. Love your vids. Always wondered what your secret was. Gonna try some of this stuff out for sure.
Dude I just wanna say all your videos are epic 🔥🔥🔥
Great informative video… we are just starting our SC journey of making videos for our channel… some great tips here 👏
I'm really greatfull I found this video. For the new I'm working finally starting my Star Citizen video Journey.
I've been waiting for this, thank you.
Awesome video! I'm having a heap of fun learning how to edit, but I'm trash at actually getting the footage lol. Lok forward to seeing what you do next! o7
Holy smokes this was an awesome video. After designing shots in unreal engine to get cinematic shots, this makes total sense. And I’ve wanted to start taking shots since I started playing the game. Thanks for posting!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this video I've been struggling with the cam setup
Great video! Thank you 🙏🏼
Brilliant video, I learned a lot! I just wanted to address one thing: at 9:40 you say "Imagine the arrow keys are you setting the focus and the scroll-wheel is you physically walking backwards with the camera" but I think it's actually more like the arrow keys are you physically walking with the camera and the scroll-wheel is you zooming in/out with the camera lens. I could be wrong here, but I think you'll find that moving in/out with the arrow keys simply adjusts your camera position in space, whereas moving in/out with the scroll-wheel adjusts your FOV, like you'd see on a real camera if you zoomed in/out with a telephoto lens (you'd be able to see less/more of the scene without physically moving position).
Please someone correct me if I'm wrong about this, but if I'm right it's a very important distinction because physically moving your camera through space and zooming in/out with your lens do NOT achieve exactly the same result and can actually be combined to create unique and dynamic framing.
The arrow keys (up and down) and scroll wheel functionally do the same thing until you add DOF into the picture. I wouldn't say scroll wheel changes your FOV maybe just your perspective. the FOV controls can be bound and that's how you get that zoomed in or wide angle look. You can change the FOV and use scroll wheel together to get some really epic shots that can show off the scale of the game. The DOF really flips the camera system upside down.
@@ItsCozyBoy Okay, interesting, I'd say scroll-wheel is definitely changing how wide angle the view is for me, but maybe I'm just imagining it 😅
Also the scroll-wheel will zoom out further for me than the arrows will.
I'm gonna test this next time I'm on.
Awesome , I use all these but I know many people don’t know about it …..what I want Is also a fixed camera so I can do fly by’s on my own.
Thanks! Will help taking those shots for luminalia cards xD!
Cozy, thanks bro 👍
Thank you for sharing.
Just thanks. Great content
I just discovered obs, glad I found that. I think I just need to jump in and give it a try. Thanks for the inside look :)
I would be curious to know how you do the title cards
Thanks you for this super helpful video! Your content is really fun to watch! Amazing stuff. For some reason the advanced camera controls do not work when i drive the Tumbril Cyclone.
Greycat works fine. Maybe you can try the cyclone if you have the opportunity. Would be great to get some cinematic shots in the daymar Rally.
Do you use a second account to extent the camera possibilities even further?
love the quality of your work, thanks for sharing with the community. I'm sharing this with the SC X/Twitter community so prepare to be even more uncomfortable ;p
Good stuff man your killing the game love to see it 💪
dude, you are my hero.
I love stuff like this.. I am also creative and want to do some stuff like this myself.
Thank you for your videos my kids like it ,it my starbucks time i watch you
Ha..... that looks like the place where the StarEngine demo was on MicroTech!
Hey Cozy, How do you do your panning shots? Like along a diagonal plane for example?
Yikes. Bit of a typo there. I love your videos!!! 😍7
32 "Um's" & 19 "Ah's" = 51? I probably missed a heaps lol Great vid CB 👌
Nicely done 👏 what’s your IGN?
@@ItsCozyBoy Thank you :) It's DaN_DiNgO Sorry for the late reply
Another great quality video. And you said your "uhms and uhs" 69 times =P
One thing that took me forEVER to figure out is the controls for FOV and DOF do not repeat if you hold them down. So you need to make distinct presses.
Also maybe I missed it, but is there a way to adjust my focal point/focal plane or is it just always going to be my character? Can I pull focus?
nice :)
just watched it cuz i started doing a video, great tutorial
63 UH or UM, dont know if anyone even commented this number
Is CIG planning on releasing cinematic tools for players
Can you make A1 version of this video? Bombing is really amazing for filming
thx o7
So, I did keep track of how many times you ummed and arred in the video but I've already got 32 million so I'm gonna let someone else give the answer. Not gonna say the number either just so nobody grabs it from my comment. Great video though, was an absolute wonder to see how this all works, maybe I'll finally be able to do some nice cinematics meself
I believe there are 63 Uh's or Um's in the vid, I may be wrong, that was difficult xD
very great video but i dont understand how you can move so slow with the camera. mine goes pretty fast
My mouse DPI is really low. I hope that helps
but if i want to go forward with the camera like in your intro, how do i make it slower@@ItsCozyBoy
set our walk speed to super slow. most of my shots like im just walking slow
Rule of thumb? It should be rule of wrist!
Hmm my scroll wheel moves camera 1meter ish, maybe.
🤔
The distance your scroll wheel moves you depends on your camera Field of View angle (i.e. + or - on the numpad)
@kalaninalak I've fixed it thanks for the reply.
63 uhms and uhs? probably not first anyway
I will be back to watch this full video. Interest me greatly how you do what you do and I hope someday SC gets an actual usable video sweet for you talented creators 🪐
