- Oh hi, pumpkins! A couple of things, I am an idiot and didn't record an intro/outro (i.e., no storytime! :-( I know! I know!). This video is purely about decluttering. I went through my collection at the start of the year to make room for new makeup and decided to purge these items from my collection. Please note that these items will be donated to either friends/family/shelter or just thrown out. Furthermore, I will do a makeup collection video in the future. :-)

For those decluttering, you can offer your expired makeup to funeral homes. They go through a lot of makeup!

You’re the first person I’ve seen on UA-cam to mention this! And it’s absolutely true-funeral homes need all the makeup they can get their hands on! My niece is a mortician and I have donated so much decluttered makeup to the funeral home she works for. The staff there were soooooo happy to get it too, because people in the funeral industry feel terrible when they can’t make a decedent look their very best for their final send-off. It’s a total win-win for everyone and then you don’t have to feel guilty about throwing away product 😁I feel very satisfied knowing that my expensive high-end (but expired) makeup is being used to glam up little old ladies who likely lived on Social Security and didn’t have the money to splurge on themselves in their old age.
For me, i feel like the “if I was 20, thin, rolling on molly at some EDM festival” sentiment, describes how I feel about half the makeup out there 😂 I mean, I kinda want to be that chick, but I kinda wanna punch her in the face too 🤔🤔🤔 I’m torn 😒

There’s a whole lot of satisfaction in waving goodbye to things that you don’t like or want. Especially if others would love them : ) I did the big edit of my collection last year and realized that the process helped me understand what type of products I love and what not to get suckered into buying. From your outro I think you figured the same things out.

Your commentary has had me laughing so loud! I’m a nurse and I tried watching this whole on a break in the break room and screaming laughter is frowned upon in the icu! Needless to say I’m finishing it now at home and probably being as loud as your neighbors!

When L’ORÉAL Paris bought Urban Decay they went WAY DOWN HILL. Dang... Also popping out MAC eyeshadows is not fun.
Sour Eggz I had gone to the loreal website and saw all the brands they own.....disappointing.
Maddy Cakes Disappointing that most of their brands are sold to People’s Republic of China (PCR) which means they are legally required to test on animals. So that mean brands like Tarte (again, owned by L’Oréal Paris) are considered not Vegan Friendly because their parent company L’Oréal tests on animals. Oh, and they are monopolizing the beauty industry - that too.

I love that you kept all the good brushes 😂 That would be me bc I love brushes so much! That water palette looks really pretty but I agree, the first and only NYX eyeshadows I bought were so inconsistent and disappointing I have not bought anything from them since.
LOVE this video! My favourite declutter video of all time! It ticks all the boxes: funny intro, good close ups of the makeup, you spoke a little about each one, and the video was long. It felt like such a treat. More please! :)

You literally got the worst BH palettes ever. I find that their palettes in the cheap plastic packaging aren’t very good but everything in the cardboard palettes that I’ve tried is really nice.

I have this rule for myself that I can go to the store and try it on, but I can only buy it online. It helps, because when I do it online, I'm like "actually, no." Unless it's something I went to the store because online was unavailable.
Great declutter! Have you considered selling on Poshmark? So much of your stuff is in great condition and you could get some of what you spent back. I have sold my decluttered makeup there.

Tarte always have such beautiful packaging on their palettes but never once has the shadows within made me feel excited. They're all so boring.

The PBJ palette was the first palette I ever got and I tried it after I used some high-quality shadows and ooh boy. I was almost ashamed I ever liked it.
Oh yesssss and THANK YOU 're that DOC Marvelous Mauves palette! 👍🤣 I got mine in a Boxycharm box and felt the same way. The shadows would disappear as I blended. I ADORE my Desi and Katie Friendcation palette, but they feel like two different formulas.
With BH; their older palettes are pigmented but chalky with fallout.....their newer palettes though are IMO terrific!
I have; the Zodiac original, Zodiac Love Signs, 4 Zodiac minis (Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, and Aires), Take Me Back To Brazil & the Rio edition, I have all the space themed palettes (Galaxy Chic, Super Nova, etc) & Aurora is glitterific! Give BH another shot.
I also have their delights (like Stila only more affordable).
I have 3 of their 10 pan blushes....love them. I also have 3 highlighter palettes and a contour palettes....also very loved on. Oh and a lip palette. I'm keeping my old BH only because palettes with 120 & 88 colors are kinda hard to replace.

I have never laughed so hard during a declutter...
I was so happy that I got the DOS Marvelous Mauves...Happy it was half price that is. Horrible. Lack of pigment that blended into each other and then disappeared. I don't think I will ever be able to make myself buy any thing from them again.

The BH Festival palette is a good one. The Aurora would be good for inner corner highlights. GRAVITATE TOWARDS, you and your husband laughing about it. 😂😂😂

Your sense of color is legend. So many of these declutters are boring because people have no collection style. OMG Smashbox IS OVERATED. PUR CAN GO F THEMSELVES. These were the best mini brand reviews. SO TRUE. Again the color here is phenomenal. Ugh can’t wait to see volume 2!

Pur is partly why I stopped boxycharm because I got way too much of them and I didn't like a single one of them..
I wanted that Japonesque palette too. I think it’s the color story is interesting. Like you I never understood why everyone loves those chalky smashbox shadows. - black! Amen ! No more Pur from Boxycharm!!!!
I love the PB&J palette although I'm pretty sure mine is old af lol. I agree 100% with Pur and hate every time we get them in Boxy. Great upload!

I totally agree on the Smashbox eyeshadow, I have purchased several different palettes and have been unimpressed/disappointed with all of them . I decided that I would never buy another Smashbox eyeshadow, its just not worth it.

cover fx drops can be put in foundation for an all over glow or in lotion for body glow or even in leave in hair conditioner for glittery unicorn hair if u don't like them as highlight u can use them other ways for anyone interested cuz i don't think they are always practical as highlighters either. Sometimes I use mine as a sticky base to emphasize my highlight and hold it on longer.
I used the drops in foundation a few times and it was fine but sometimes it was too much and I look like a glittery mess haha - but you're right, at least they are multi-purpose!

I really don’t understand why everyone strongly dislikes Naked Smoky :/ It is WONDERFUL. That pink sparkly shade is my go-to inner corner highlighter, the two base colours are marvellously soft and thus great to set primers with, the taupe is awesome, the silver metallics are INCREDIBLE, and the black is great because it is soft and not too pigmented - it’s not an all-over-the-lid black, but it’s super duper helpful to just deepen whatever look as an eyeliner or an outer corner smoke. All the shades go really well together, and the palette itself is the definition of a smoky palette, because the shades also blend together to create so much smokiness! Sometimes I can’t help but think I got an exceptionally mindblowing palette, because I love everything about it, whereas people hate everything about it haha

Theresa is Dead I got it when UD was trying to chuck its stocks out, and couldn’t believe how good it was, because I have Naked 3, which I love, but the shadows in there are incredibly dry. It’ll now have to wait until the next winter, but it was so easy for me to do perfectly blended smokey looks with it when I was trying to rush out of home for school. I went in pretty blind, and with a few cautions from a friend who kept warning me of the terrible feedback, so I was quite shocked to find it that good haha

makeup expiration dates are stupid. if they have an issue than throw them away. if they don't. you can keep that for years. i have an urban decay pallete from before they sold out to loreal. it's pristine.
You are not an idiot. We all get sucked in at sales. Don't feel bad about having to declutter. 3 good reasons to declufter:
1. You're not wasting something you know will just sit in a drawer and eventually expire. You are making someone else very happy by passing it on.
2. Your collection will be smaller and you can actually FIND use the things you truly love.
3. You will not be overwhelmed by having too many choices.
Makeup is like skincare. We need to try a shit ton before we figure out what actually works. What I do now, especially with more expensive items like eye and face palettes, is sit back, relax, stalk and wait. It WILL go on sale. I waited YEARS for the Urban Decay Moonstone palette to go on sale, and finally got it for 50% off. Don't add it to your wish or love list. If it's something you really want, you should remember it. Meanwhile, watch reviews, and check sales, but only for those specific items. I bet you that you'll forget about 3/4 of the stuff you thought you had to have, and the rest will be loved, used and appreciated.

I have the BH cosmetics Take me To Brazil palette, beautiful selection of colors with no pigments at all. Even when you put a white base on your eyelids, it's super dry and chalky and you have to build up the color to get a good wash of color.
To be fair, not all the colors lack pigments in that palette, but most of them do. That's why I wouldn't recommend this specific palette from them.
I also finally caved in and got the Too Faced Natural eyes matte eyeshadow palette, my inner basic binch is so happy

I think it is good to get into the makeup part right away sometimes....it works for me. Then we can look forward to a story....The old Urban Decay Vice palettes were the best. Bh cosmetics makes great Yellows and they are affordable...back to Brazil yellow is very good.. I love that this is a REAL declutter video.,..THANKS, ...I can't stand when people go through their whole collection and throw out a handful of palettes.

I was gonna get the big bag, then I decided to save money. As I was placing the order for the small Beautylish bag, I went back to get the big one and it was sold out! I was so mad at myself! Thankfully, days later I found out my little sister got me a second small bag for Christmas lol I don't know if it will makeup for it, I am still kicking myself in my nonexistent nuts.
