at the end of episode two, we realize the harsh reality of the episode. The ghosts walked in pairs, as they were friends (like finn and jake), but they couldn't break the king gladiator's spell and had to kill their own friends. That's why we hear them apologizing during the whole episode, they apologize to their friends.
The teddy bear Ash sold was Hambo, the same one little Marcy sewed the button on in the first memory. 1. The dead goat is my favorite part of the episode. 2. Versus and Priscus were actually real life gladiators in Ancient Rome. 3. Baby Finn’s dance is iconic.
20:18 you also gotta think it has probably been a while since she's had fries, like finn and jake live in time where they seem to have access to stuff, not only because they have fully stablished kingdoms nearby that probably have produce but the conditions seem to be good for vegetables and stuff, while the place Marceline was around would have soothe and ash in the air blocking sunlight and stuff so yeah
Yeah, Ash is the worst! I'm so glad Finn helped get Marceline out of that relationship. Also, we finally got to "Tough Tootin' Baby", one of the greatest moments in the show.
Really glad you decided to keep going with this show. Rewatching the ending of that Ash episode for the first time in a long time and I forgot how satisfying that beat down was. Young Marceline and Finn were great too. Jake singing in the gladiator cave was something I always really liked.
One of the best parts of watching this on streaming first was that I think I watched the Buff Baby song over and over like 5 or 6 times before finishing the show. It always makes me think the episode is longer than it is though
I remember that after Memory of a Memory came out there was a small number of folks advocating for the idea of Finn and Marceline being a thing as Finn was so good about protecting her. Of course that idea went away quickly after another episode that’s coming up soon.

I was waiting for you to get to season three I don’t know how far you’re ahead but I’m a give you a fair warning episode 19 episode 20 is a two-parter episode 20 starts the series so far after you watch episode 20 at the end of it there is a very special scene that you have to pay attention to. It is a key to the entire series and when you turn that key, you cannot look away trust me you think it’s good right now, what do you start that key you’re gonna be amazed of what actually going on now you will hear this from other fans to watch this episode there’s a reason why and I’ll let you see for yourself next time you see a picture of the whole planet, take a good look and remember that shot for there is a reason they’re showing it to you and all the pieces you seem so far later episodes will start falling together the ice king in the vampire Queen Marceline. You’re gonna find the connection between them. Then later the Princess bubblegum connection you will see a hint of the relationship between princess bubblegum, and Marceline, and an upcoming you will recognize it from the word, door Lord and what do you think is going on between the princess and Marceline is exactly what’s going on good luck
i really resonated with marceline in "memory of memory". ash reminds me of my controlling ex-boyfriend, and it felt absolutely terrible. it makes me so sad that marcy also had to go through that :(

Yes! Love "Memory of a Memory"! Shows a bit of lore of what life was like during the war. Plus, IT'S GOT MARCY IN IT!
Episode 3x3 is definitely a case of "I don't promote the use of violence, but you shouldn't try to deserve it that much."

‘Memory of a Memory’ is one of my favs from the early seasons. The fact that the story is contained in 11 minutes has always amazed me.
