Yeah. It's a complete wonder a mystery-it's not even possible, but here it is- a once in a hundred years miracle-a true "national treasure"-everything-her voice, her articulation, the perfect choice of instruments, great song writing that is unique, the life, her look, her tragic story. There really aren't words. We're all fortunate to have some bare traces of her music.
Dino Valenti wrote Something on your mind. Are there any recordings of Karen’s own songs?
No, she refused to sing her own songs ever. I don’t know why.
Fuckkkkkkkkk this is amazing !!!
Thank you. The brilliant Karen Dalton. Cherokee folk-blues singer, guitarist, and banjo player and poet.
That vulnerability and sadness in her voice always reminded me of Billie Holiday in a way.
just posted the same on another cut of hers.....
she was a huge Billie fan
That voice is something that cant be coached, cant be trained, cant be tamed... Its pure.. something you don't see much these days. You see it with Kings of Leon, Lucero.. very few.
" who is this?" well said Courtney!
her and her peoples life summed up in the way she sings, Bob Dylan said she was his fave singer, she's mine
Yes agree with Bob and you🌺She made only 2 albums?
You know more on where to find?
Irish-cherokee folk singer!thank you
