The cameraperson was in the right place, at the right time. Plus, he/she showed incredible restraint for not zooming in...(as I probably would have). I love, love, love this Woman. Her Voice. Her Guitar Playing. Her Everything.
Hi and Thanh’s fit the compliment as I shoot and post these videos. I do have a tendency to zoom also but usually of guitar picking . Glad you enjoyed. Geoff
Heard Ronnie late 80's early 90's and knew I was listening to someone/something special, I have that same feeling w/ Samantha. Here's hoping both enjoy future success and in (especially) Ronnie's case, good health. Happy New Year, everyone. Peace.
Great Duet plus! Sam Fish playing with the accomplished Ronnie Earl. Just stumbled on this, and it shows how bright and imaginative her guitar playing is becoming. She is in awe of Earl, but nonetheless uncorks a sparling performance here: lovely tight control and interpretation. Go-Go Ray and Scot Sutherland don't feature in shot, but are providing the awesome support you can hear!!
This is great! I've seen Samantha twice in the last two months. Excellent shows! Though the correct title of this song is "Killing Floor," written and released by Howling Wolf, in 1964, the song is one of the definitive classics of Chicago Electric Blues. Many people were introduced to this as it was incorporated into "The Lemon Song" by Led Zeppelin on their second album. After legal action, Howling Wolf was also given credit on Zeppelin's albums as a co-author of the song. Also, Willie Dixon was given an out-of-court monetary settlement for plagiarism by Led Zeppelin for "Whole Lotta Love" since they "borrowed" most of his lyrics from "You Need Love" recorded by Muddy Waters in '62. Thanks for the great jam with Samantha and Ronnie Earl!
I first heard Killing Floor on The Electric Flag album, released in '68.....Mike Bloomfield, Buddy Miles, Nick Graventies, et al.....darned good album. I especially love the cut "Texas".
The song Is "Killing Floor". i would gig with Samantha any time. Another great version is by Electric Flag with Michael Bloomfield guitar. You can You Tube it.
DIFFÉRENTS PARTS OF PLAYS IS REALLY VERY INTÉRESSANTS .. SORRY FROM M'Y BAD ENGLISH SAMANTHA LONG LIFE WITH YOUR GUITAR......THIS JAM'S WITH ALTERNATIF SOLOS AND RYTHMIQUES MIRACULOUS DEARS FRIENDS ........YEAH SURE. FUZZ YOU AND RONNIE is anthologic in story blues!!! merci RONNIE...
Jim Morrison She is always respectful and happy to play second fiddle to a better known musician. She is always trying to learn from others & shows her joy in playing with them. So with her huge talent she'll go far.
wellershill Yeah, I kinda thought that... I agree.. Though... I think that it's actually him that should be learning from her... but that's just my humble opinion...
Sam. Call Ally. Ally call Sam..... Then the Filmore.......fk it. El club........ What time. You gonna be there......I gotta protest. Gotta get to............k.......? K bye..... turn it up
Dude you are really watching the wrong part of Sam. You need to expand your view and take in the whole picture. Personally I can't take my eyes off her.
Bluesblaster Me too, and Sam is fantastic and I love the way she moves about onstage. I've seen her in person once and plan to catch another gig when she comes back to my area next spring. (PS: I don't mind watching either the front or the back of her!!)
Thanks for posting this. I like Ronnie Earl's note choices, but his timing is way off throughout much of this (especially the whole of the first half), and it is so frustrating.
woodygould, ah. That never occurred to me. You may be right. Thanks for suggesting that. Does it make any sense, though? And I have no problem with people playing behind the beat (Ringo and, to a lesser extent, Charlie do it very well), but it seems out of place here to me.
No idea why i commented 5 years ago but i really meant it. Don’t know why kal k responded 5 years later but I’m glad you did. It is very uplifting music!
She is so good that, at such a young age, she holds her own with a guy who has been playing blues great for so many years!!
She's amazing nothing I've ever heard or seen before
thats one thing about the blues, A legend playing with a prodigy. Wonderful music thank you
Ronnie Earl ! What a gift to Blues fans the world over.
🐠One of her best songs 🎸
guaranteed to heal my blues whenever feel'n down....great duo , doin' it right!

Great Duet plus!

Electric Flag did a nice version back in the day, too. Played this song many times myself...
I first heard Killing Floor on The Electric Flag album, released in '68.....Mike Bloomfield, Buddy Miles, Nick Graventies, et al.....darned good album. I especially love the cut "Texas".

Shake it Girl !!!
The song Is "Killing Floor".
i would gig with Samantha any time.
Another great version is by Electric Flag with Michael Bloomfield guitar.
You can You Tube it.
Well, of course...it's Michael Bloomfield, and I think if he saw Samantha playing he would say "Where's my guitar, I'm jamming with this girl!!".
muito bom aos 3:41

Sam is so generous to other musicians. A real professional.
wellershill What do you mean?
Jim Morrison She is always respectful and happy to play second fiddle to a better known musician. She is always trying to learn from others & shows her joy in playing with them. So with her huge talent she'll go far.
wellershill Yeah, I kinda thought that... I agree.. Though... I think that it's actually him that should be learning from her... but that's just my humble opinion...
Jim Morrison I'm so glad you said that, because it's what I think too. I'd rather hear Sam play any day.
crushproof 803 He's good but he is too technical... he often forgets to feel... again.. it's just my opinion...
SWEET
SRV ...? love it !
I wish I could tease music out of my fingertips.....
🎸🎤❗️❤️
Best version of this ever 😵💫😍🙏👍 is this in G ?
Like boots. 😊
Ronnie is playing Samantha's fishocaster guitar .......
Sams fishcaster never sounded so good!
This fish knows how to swim..
Not your typical blues garb! For a second I didn't realize she was playing a guitar...
Samatha is a great player
Oh gawd,are you ever delusional!
Ich bin Germay like dis Musik
you german? .... pff things have changed ....
Sam. Call Ally. Ally call Sam..... Then the Filmore.......fk it. El club........ What time. You gonna be there......I gotta protest. Gotta get to............k.......? K bye..... turn it up

Is this not killing floor? anyway good playing
I don't what it is but I like a gal who wears a watch...
Great, awesome. Except for ....... that watch on Sams left wrist.
Dude you are really watching the wrong part of Sam. You need to expand your view and take in the whole picture. Personally I can't take my eyes off her.
Watch(ing).... haha. But actually I go for the guitar playing
Bluesblaster Me too, and Sam is fantastic and I love the way she moves about onstage. I've seen her in person once and plan to catch another gig when she comes back to my area next spring. (PS: I don't mind watching either the front or the back of her!!)

drutgat2 I think he's playing behind the beat deliberately...
woodygould, ah. That never occurred to me. You may be right. Thanks for suggesting that. Does it make any sense, though? And I have no problem with people playing behind the beat (Ringo and, to a lesser extent, Charlie do it very well), but it seems out of place here to me.
Also possible that once Ronnie moved around to stand behind Samantha during the first verse of vocals, he got....uhhhh....ummmm....distracted......
I think that is probably the correct explanation :)
You complain about the watch but not the hat on Ronnie's head? Geez.
Whenever I feel blue I put this video music track on .....loud. Heals the soul!
No idea why i commented 5 years ago but i really meant it.
Don’t know why kal k responded 5 years later but I’m glad you did. It is very uplifting music!
Why is it guitar players wear those silly hats ?
Do they think it makes them look like a blues man?
its ronnie earl you fool
To bad she got away from the blues
Ronny is all over the place rhythmically. Mediocre.
