    Excellent!
I have a B+W 10 stop VND to calibrate by your method. As it is 10 stop Is there anything else you think I should know, Will?

Hi Peter, nothing else needed my friend. Just download the worksheet and follow it as outlined on the video, and I guarantee you will have accurate exposure comp "dots" - or DOUBLE your money back. (haha on the video - not the filter!) Feel free to email me if you need any help Peter.

Hi! I left Chicago back in 2016 for California and put aside the videos to work on a BIG consulting contract and take a break. After seeing how UA-cam has become the epicenter of photo education (and that the manners of the viewers have greatly improved) I decided to make a few new videos and see how it goes. It's going great so it looks like you are stuck with me for a while making new content from my California studio. hahaha -Will

Normal ND filters require no calibration, nor do they cost 200 dollars... Variable ND seems useless.

Hi, thanks for your comment. Variable ND's are terrific tools once you get them calibrated and I use them a lot with my portrait work. Sounds like they are just not for you. Everybody's different. BTW, even fixed density ND's need to be calibrated because of their manufacturing tolerances. They are difficult things to make and have a tolerance of +/- 5% and in my testing I've found that number to be rather low. That's no big deal with a 1/2 stop or 1 stop, but on a 5 stop ND that is almost a 1/2 stop making it problematic for portrait shooters. Thanks for watching my content. - Will
