I'm going to readily admit this ! In my early adult years , I used to sneak a cassette tape
recorder into rock concerts in the 1970's . I taped quite a few music acts as a result !
Most of the time it was hidden under a coat in cold weather .

Some of the early pre - recorded cassette tapes were junk ! I bought a pre-recorded
cassette tape of "ZEPHYR" (1969 ) and the tape had a "piece of sponge" to hold the tape
tight against the tape head and the "sponge" wore out causing a muddled sound .
This was a tape made by AMPEX and they were junk ! Early pre-recorded cassette
tapes didn't have the DOLBY feature and had a lot of tape hiss as a result .
I bought pre - recorded cassette tapes up into the mid 1980's and I then switched to
    compact discs .
