On the first one, you should have gone with "Lassie was a beautiful dog and talented...it doesn't mean I would be remotely interested in dating a literal dog! (End on a question because it bypasses some of the inclination to use questions to reverse it and less likely to come out of nowhere with some response you have no idea where it came from and therefore will have no adequate response... Remember, if she is really talking about the actual topic of conversation, then the answer can close the book on that. If she says "yes", then she needs reassurance. And if the AI does what real people do and asks stuff anyway, repeat the question. Remember, if she is really talking about the actual topic of conversation, then the answer can close the book on that. If she says "yes", then she needs reassurance. If she says "no" then you reassure her then pivot and ask if there's something else on her mind. Don't phrase it as "what's really bothering you " though or you're toast.
