People have gotten swallowed up in the cities and overcrowded towns of America, life shouldn’t be about making money just to provide basics, life should be about enjoying nature exploring the world god has provided for us with the short amount of time we have it’s so not worth wasting time away working for paper when we have an entire planet of gods creations to see and explore and experience. It's a great plan, issue is most people need to buy their land or home and can't afford it. So get a mortgage and have to work for 30 years to pay it off. Not sure how else to do it? there is no free good land.

It is called trading your time for money unless you have some form of handed down money which someone else at some point had traded their time for money. Without society, they could have never done this. Steel hammers, steel tools, Plastic binds were all made with Furnaces and digging out mountains of iron ore. They took/ traded from society what they needed and built their dream home.

Not all of Canada unfortunately. Here in Ontario you barely own the land you buy. In organized townships there are SO many regulations on what you can do with it, what you can put on it and they do everything they can to make sure you can't live off grid. From different videos I've seen out of BC, it seems to be much easier to live the dream.

I think that people like this are also determined not to fall into the health care trap as they age. They know life is challenging, entails some suffering, and the end is inescapable. It's easier to accept when you have lived a full life.

People who remodel have an ok place they want to add to (usually dont need to), they had to make an entire island and it sounds like they had to redo some parts a few times (like changing out of a wood style to styrofoam). Im sure the last few years was just adding a few additions that are merely for extra comfort like a remodel but they started at vastly different different points.

Dont beat yourself. All of these inspirational videos are multiple takes. You say the same thing over and over again util a guy behind camera says "Its ok!". And then you say the other thing over and over again....If top paid actors have to go through this what makes you think that regular people pull it off first try. Hint, they dont.
They seem like such sweet people who genuinely enjoy living like this. A lot of the people I see in videos about living self sufficiently are driven by their hatred for society. They always seem sad and like they are fighting against the rest of the world. I’m so glad these two are happy
Awesome. My wife and I own a 43 foot trawler/houseboat we've been renovating for some years now. It's our dream to make it completely self sufficient just like this. Right on.
I feel like I'm watching my partner and I a few years in the future. Greenhouses, growing food, bartering, art, and building. We're at the beginning of our build. We're landlocked but I love this so much.

I’ve always believed that the way a man interacts with animals is how he will be with children and how he treats his mother his mother is his how he will treat his wife. It’s 100% accurate. I noticed how the husband in this video was so gentle with the dogs as well.

We did an MTV cribs of this place. One of the more memorable shoots of my career. Really cool dude. He envisioned the place, built a model of it, and manifested it. With his partner and soulmate. I admire this guy, and I'm building my own model right now.

I think that people like this are also determined not to fall into the health care trap as they age. They know life is challenging, entails some suffering, and the end is inescapable. It's easier to accept when you have lived a full life.

its how the creator wanted us to live. We all wonder why we are miserable and its because we live outside of nature just like they want us too.
@@marieindia8116 So why not try to make sure you also live as long as you can by being a part of a society which values and protects the health of its members by I don’t know, maybe incentivizing the specialization of people who can effectively heal people when they are sick or injured? I don’t think these things are mutually exclusive. Do you? Can we enjoy our lives while also sacrificing just a little back to the community which makes our lives so much more meaningful?

@Lady Joker They typically have a base home to come to, this was built from scratch. People who remodel have an ok place they want to add to (usually dont need to), they had to make an entire island and it sounds like they had to redo some parts a few times (like changing out of a wood style to styrofoam). Im sure the last few years was just adding a few additions that are merely for extra comfort like a remodel but they started at vastly different different points.

I’m really impressed. I’m currently 27 years old and to think that these two have been living like this for as long as I’ve been alive is amazing. Especially to have this home out on the water as well! I’m excited to see what their next phase will be, if they decide to build another home either out on the water again or on land this time. Truly amazing!

And then you say the other thing over and over again....If top paid actors have to go through this what makes you think that regular people pull it off first try. Hint, they dont.

I feel like I'm watching my partner and I a few years in the future. Greenhouses, growing food, bartering, art, and building. We're at the beginning of our build. We're landlocked but I love this so much.

My old home used to have same color painted interior... it was old wood house, little bit ramshackle, and it was rent so eventually landlord kicked us out to start on the renovation project :P lol.. oh well, I really liked that house but such is life.
