I love the PlayStation 3/4 style menu!
Yeah, that's why I like it
Maximum Tips Because PS4 runs 0RBISOS
the style menu is a interface named "XMB"or "Xcross Media Bar"
found the video on reddit, this looks promising and easy enough. much thanks!
I built 2 multi system PC/consoles early last year for me and my nephew , I love being able to play games from my childhood and tons of PC games as well. We use Tunngle to play multiplayer with the emulator games.
I also wanted a comfortable chair to relax and game in, so I built a custom gaming chair using some foldable seats from a mini van and some lumber from Home Depot to build the base. It's very comfortable and I can't believe that it only cost me $40.00 to build.
great video - just revived my 10 year old Toshiba Satellite and think this would be the perfect use for it. I have Hyperspin set up on my main box and thought I could simply copy and paste that over to this setup ... while it works, my old laptop just can't smoothly operate the visual flair of Hyperspin.
Alexander Limpin that's why I made this tutorial, so anyone with a piece of crap computer can play games on it
after installing from the USB installer, my laptop gets stuck in boot loop (at the Lakka Berry logo). Any ideas?
Love your videos man! Thanks to you I can do something with that old PC lying around
Is that Kubbi I hear in the background? Man. Brings back memories from when I first watched Trainer Tips.
I've got a nice ASUS gaming laptop from 2009 laying around, but it runs super slow, I'm guessing the HDD is going. Hopefully an SSD will do the trick.
Very good idea, lad. I might try that with my 2GB ram, 240GB solid state drive netbook I have.
This is fucking awesome all your other videos as well everything I searched today was covered in your video lol I am going to build a portable retro gaming multi system console from a small notebook
Is it possible to run the lakka operating system from a blank hard drive? And putting all the roms on the hard drive rather yhen messing with external usb drives?
Yes it is possible
"download lakka itll only be a few minutes"... Looks at download time. (9h 27m) ._. fml
kid leggo trust xD
Lol, new lakka 420mb)))
7min later: Downloaded))
It's good I've tried it but is there browser in that and how I connection to wifi???
Your expressions are a bit like Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory. Keep doing what you're doing. Nice video!
Finally someone who agrees. *sigh of relief*
dr Sheldon Cooper ftw
mine just went all black and after a few mins goes back to restarting help
Your HDD might be at fault... make sure you're booting from usb by entering your bios and setting your usb at the top of the bootable devices list, if it boots and you still can't install or if after instalation is complete the screen goes blank you definitely have a corrupted HDD
Can someone help me. I have no sound in lakka and retroarch..
Can you do this to out dated computers?
good video, many thanks, you should have 261.4k subs
ty, working on it lol
Is there any possible way we could make a PS4 out of a Dell workstation?
I want that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I found a Logitech keyboard-mouse combo in Vietnam for about $8
I bought one on the street in Texas for $4 lol
I. Install on Sony vaio laptop but they not. Show full display. They show. Mini small window
Very great video. Now one question can we install Lakka in a USB without formatting HDD/SDD
There is a way to do that I believe.
@@MaximumTips I did it
Thanks for the tip
Could I install this onto an external hard drive? I want to keep Windows installed on the PC's internal hard drive, so I can still use it like a normal PC.
nice ill install this on my 1gb laptop
I'm having issues navigating the menu, it won't allow me to hit enter to pick the quick install. Do you have any advice?
I love your jojo's bizarre adventure pictures in the background
Thanks, it's one my favorites
Hi can i dual boot it as i love my windows games on it
sure
HI! I want to use my old pc like this, but ALSO as a HTPC... Is there a clean way to do it (like dual boot)? Or shuold just stay with windows or something?
I don't see why not, ate you familiar with partitioning? You can run it live from a usb thumb drive too but if you already have windows running I'd just download time emulators for windows and get the rom download from piratebay.
Any recommendations for a pc running Dolphin wii games?
I was planning on just setting Big box to automatically turn on at launch, and when I hit the power button on my custom arcade cabinet case, It'll just put the system to sleep, and turn off the monitor.
can i go back to windows or no ?
Can I put the rom files in the drive that lakka is going on?
must the disk be formated?
Milan Svihalek yes
For some reason, mine keeps flashing the lakka logo. Plz someone help me
me too, did you find a fix?
no. I just ended up putting windows on that machine.
teddybearone teddybearone damn okay, I've just given up ah
Cameron Jarrold lol
Same for me, just kept going into a boot loop so back to windows xp and going to try retroarch
Very good video, one critique is that when you are reading from cue cards underneath the camera at close range its evident that you are not looking at the camera. That gives the appearance of social awkwardness. There is a reason that newscasters usually memorize their notes or use a camera further out and zoomed in, since it minimizes the "cant make eye contact" effect.
MckyeB I did have something under it, but there were only 1 or 2 times I had to check when shooting the scene. Memory wasn't really a strong suit of mine.
like I said, it was very good, but it was something that I noticed. looking directly at the camera or giving the appearance of looking directly at the camera can make a very large impact on how you are perceived in your videos.
MckyeB ty I'll keep your advice in mind, I always was behind when making videos in the past being center stage is still kinda of strange to me. I know with enough experience though I'll overcome that hurdle eventually.
I wouldn't doubt it. You can go a long ways with a pleasant voice and an open face, both encourage people to listen to you. You fortunately have both, which can take you a long way. With some additional refining I can see you being very successful.
MckyeB Thanks man
I love it! Thank you
I don t know what to do about bioses. Can you help ?
Wait. Where do you get the games? Do I use the original discs?
I would use google to look them up, I can't tell you where to specifically since that's against copyright law
Jason Hatt Emuparadise is best
It is possible to use it as an emulator and DVD player. I have some films from zone and PAL and I would like to be able to do the 2 things thanks
I don't think so
Can I use a Bluetooth controller?
When run lakka it still logo and back again... Same want open and crash back logo
Maximum Tips
30 Days Aros Challenge!
You have to build it from old computer parts!
Would you take it?
Background music please
great videos
there's got to be some way to duel boot???
there is a way if you use another hard drive in the drive
@@MaximumTips so would my ssd work? or just hard drives?
Where did you download the bios for PlayStation
mrtgaming 123 Google is always the answer.
Amazing screw the snes classic im doing this lol
Signati Gaming me to
Hi, I'm trying to do this on a surface pro and there is no lan port on it.
Is it possible to use wifi on lakka?
yes
If i wanted to go further as the psp emulator, what pc or laptop specs should i get?
I would use ppsspp as the emulator of choice, you can find all the information right here emulation-general.wikia.com/wiki/PPSSPP
I need help! How much space does your USB need?
Please I only have a week before our towns arcade at the Gala
I think it had 128 gigs but it depends on how many games you are adding to it.
Maximum Tips thanks!
Thanks for posting this. I'm assuming the PC will boot straight into lakka and not windows?
If you follow the booting instructions yes, sometimes old workstations will still have operating systems on them. So by selecting your usb drive from the boot menu you'll be able to install and overwrite whatever was on the hard drive last. Then your computer will boot up automatically to lakka.
Maximum Tips thanks I have an old Acer revo I may try this with.
Interesting, I wouldn't have thought to install an entire OS just for emulation. I currently have an old laptop running as a HTPC which I do occasionally emulate on. Does Lakka do anything else apart from emulation or is it strictly Retroarch? e.g. Does it support running a web browser or playing video files?
No, It's only good for gaming, I have another video on my channel on how to turn an old pc into a home theater.
If I install ps3 in my pc. Will it connect to my psn account?
Hi how do I download games to play on Lakka
Piratebay duh
will a 32" sony TV work with this ?
Like to use as a monitor?
Isn't there any way to install s ps3 os on PC
Wish it was possible to throw in PS2 Bios too, hope someone crack that one day so we can emulate all PS2 games like that.
it is now
possible
wow its cool but I have one doubt that can we change that into an xbox360 or Xbox one
wait. you can sideload now? the main reason i never chose lakka was because loading roms was only available thru network access. if i can just plug in a flash drive to load my shit, then this is the way to go. i dont want my console pc online. so this is a lot better now
error input/output after logo with flower. Please help
Try reformatting again, maybe you need a usb output controller
how much space does the OS take up?
It says on the website download link around 128 mb on the zip file
can you save the games to the hard drive instead of having to use the usb
There should be a way in the official distro
It's stuck on the flower screen after I install everything do you have any tips?
Logan Lebleu
At one of the screens, type in installs
Is this its own OS, meaning the PC doesnt need windows? What is the minimum system spec you would reccomend? I have and old Dell thet i have been considering throwing in the dumpster i might use.
Yes, this is a os, what are the specs on your system?
Maximum Tips , not for sure says amd athalon on a sticker, and just looked and only has 1gb ram, so i doubt its of any use.
You can try it, I'm sure you can play some older games.
PC Master Race. PROOF
Does it needs high requirments?
OK
so i have install it and i rebooted but i only see the logo over and over again.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Daniel Eberhardt did you ever get it to work?
dual boot ?
You have a 64 bit cpu, why do you downloaded the 32 bit version?
Is it dual boot
will it install graphic drivers automatically
Kingsy Show
You won't need to. Just use your onboard vga/hdmi/etc
What if I have a graphics card?how do I install Nvidia drivers
building a one with a terabyte hard drive with all the PlayStation in all the PlayStation 1 games in Playstation 2 games on it and later and green cast
I wish this would load roms from the internal hard drive
It will and that's what he did, he used a thumb drive to transfer them to the puters hdd
One question i do have. Does it work with 8bitdo controllers?
Banica Georgian Vasile if the PC has Bluetooth. If not, buy a Bluetooth dongle. They only $2 to $3 dollars on eBay.
I downloaded the lakka image file from the site but for whatever reason when I try to run it (just as a test) it's corrupted. does that mean I cannot properly write it to the flash drive?
regardless, I write it to the flash drive anyways and when I'm done I can no longer open that flash drive(unless I format it first)
I press on anyways, but when I try to boot from the USB flash drive, it doesn't work, it skips it in the boot order and goes straight to windows, presumably because I did something wrong
can anyone help me?
One formatter I use as well is this program www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/
Maybe that'll help with your usb drive?
Hey there! Sorry for not replying earlier (this is the same person just on a different UA-cam account now)
I got it to work, I just had to use a different writing program for whatever reason (don't know why etcher didn't do it for me). If anyone else is having problems maybe try using win32diskimager or rufus, although I will warn you one of my flashdrives was corrupted when I was trying to figure it out.
Motho Yeah those work too
This is cool
can i go back to windows or no pls tell me
no, you're basically installing a new os on your computer, no, but you can overwrite that partition later if you want to change back.
What if the computer is that old that doesnt support wifi connections?
There is a way that you don't need a wifi connection to do so.
i get my usb shrinked to 500mb after bootable lakka into it... it is normal?
No
+idan124
Anytime I've used "Etcher" to write an IMG file to a USB it usually requires a little more time to get my USB properly formatted afterwards.
Using Linux with Gparted & Disks I usually have to to wipe, partition, and format several times before the entire capacity of the USB can be properly detected and written to.
thanks man i love this os its really works amazing on dirt cheap older laptops and computers so simple and easy to setup i love it i have so far on my old laptop with 40gb hdd over 5000+ roms
omg you make amazing videos and you have only 978 subscribers
Help!
I can only boot with a live version and it does not give me the installer option.
Anyone else having this problem?
Daniel Eberhardt try it with different versions.
can i put it on a disk
I believe so
Does lakka have ps2 emulator?
I can't add games in lakka
It dotsent work it says /kernel ,failed
Damn boy 100$? You got ripped off!
how about older pc in year 2000
And i dont experience this on my childhood
i mean the games
Yeayea just make sure it has 64mb of ram and pentium 1 in it
I already have a system with Ubuntu loaded, but i want lakka to be the only OS. Can anyone help me with that?
Audio is a bit low for some reason still watchable though
feeish Kept it a little low so that people wouldn't get blasted with noise when using headphones
theres no run installer part
Lakka or Retropie?
This is PS3 emulator?
PC specs?
Has nobody tried to make an Xbox one hard drive work on a pc with a boot switch between the two as to make it use the same system
اشكرك اخي ماقصرت اخيك العراقي
