As someone who knows the history, this would have been the perfect opportunity for one of the best AC stories. This should be all about Naoe, Yasuke should be a minor role in HER story. Bring back AC2 level cutscenes.
The success made by the "revolution" in the game by the main characters will reflect the success of Ubisoft activism in the reality... Totally fictional.
I'm still going to buy the game and play it of course there's plenty of things that's controversial as of right now I just want to see the gameplay and story and hopefully have a great experience

At the gameplay reveal, they showcased how you can pet a dog. But the animation fail to start and they couldn't pet the dog after at all, the prompt didn't show again. They delayed the game twice to polish it as they say yet to fail in such a way yet again .... xD
I was already disappointed with AC when they stopped connecting the E.T. technology sub plots into the games. Finding those artifacts and the connections to them made the story lines more mysterious and entertaining. With that said, I have been a fan of AC for a long time and I do not like the black Samurai story approach. They already did an authentic black character AC III Liberation..and it was a fun game with a a great story. We did not need this! The problem going forward is that now, every time a black character has the opportunity to cross over into another AC story line its going to be viewed through the lense of UBISOFT trying to appeal to black people. This entire line up of games should have had an all Asian cast and focused on their culture. I know thtere is a story of a black samurai that exsisted and that story is debated on being true or not, but either way just keep it simple yal.
I think Yasuke is a Templar. We see him have the Templar cross and in Joraptor's footage, he's also wearing an armor with the Templar cross on it as well
If they really wanted to tell a story about discrimination, they could have easily chosen an Ainu as the male protagonist. Choosing Yasuke over an Ainu feels like the ultimate disrespect-not just to Japan, but to an indigenous people from the country who have a long history of being subjected to discrimination. But I guess not all minorities are equally deserving of DEI attention and protection.

Seen some of the gameplay from other UA-camrs and so far, i can say im impressed... gameplay wise. Voice acting was meh especially naoe, yasuke's VA was alright but im surprised how hooked i was on the story definitely better than Odyssey, mirage and Valhalla's story, the cutscenes are a rarity in modern rpg assassin creed games and so far the 4 hour showcase got some goor ounce of cutscenes

And that's what happens when you disrespect another countries culture, lie, and then disrespect your customers.
