Yeah it's really good.... unlike games nowadays. It's kind of depressing actually and the music is also kind of sad. Really nice emotion that this game brings though.
there are 5 different ways to warproom 6 :) each one opens one of the 5 portals, i remember a few, 1 was at the end of one of the levels where a bear/rock chases you (jump down the hole that the bear/rock falls down), one of the levels where you ride the polar bear (cross the floating ice at the end)
and the last 1 was on one of the sewer levels with eals and stuff, after dropping down from some higher area, run backwards towars the screen and jump down another hole, get to the other end of this area and you get teleported to the final secret portal
also there's one on 1 of the levels with the bomb-shooting-plants and bee hives, kill the plant on the lil platform near the end (its the level with 2 clear gems to get), another was on one of the levels with the plants that eat you and the jet ski's, jump across bxes to reach the floating platform
@JeSangtae: On the flipside to the secret entrance being short, we get a skull route. My tiff with the ruin stages is that we don't see enough of them or the music. With the bee stages, you only heard the music on 2 levels, but at least the theme was used for the runaways.
Crash 2 & 3 is when Crash really became the sh!t IMO. 1 was too frustratingly hard at times and just didn't have the fun, fluid feel of its followups. Even Jason Rubin stated in an interview that he feels Crash 2 & 3 are where they really nailed what they were going for.
This is Garland: I gotta do this level right. Be cautious and all... *Jumps on boxes, Beep* Oh, a TNT box. This'll speed things up. :) This is me: Oooh! Boxes to get tons of wumpa fruit from! :3 *Spinspinspin---BOOM!*
Oh thank you. I was wondering where the secret entrance was. I also managed to clear the gap from the normal entrance... admittedly on my 30Trillionth try.
you must not die until you get to that point if you die and reset in the checkpoint in the skull path it will still be there these are harder than normal paths gem paths require a gem for the purple go to diggin it or that other one in the fourth warproom look for a staircase of nitros go on it it will not hurt you go on top and you will be warped to the area get the gem finsh the level and you have it if you have all gems you can do the 25th level gem which require all colured gems
I thought those rodent animals in the level might be possums but was quite puzzled for a while since they make them shrieking noises and I don't know if possums do shriek at all, but then I figured that they're probably rats although rats just make squeaking sounds like mice
I discovered today that it is possible to get the skull route gem without using the skull platform: you can jump straight to the gem. The jump is easily the hardest in the game, I managed to get the gem but I somehow got stuck on the platform it was floating on >_>
With some luck, you can do this without going through the secret portal. I was able to jump from the start to the secret area, but it's really hard to do it in 1 try.
Is this level supposed to be sunset vista at night time. I've been playing this game for 15 years and never once saw the resemblance in the background.
So let me get this straight... if you mess up and die before getting to the skull and bones platform, you have to do "Diggin It" again just to get to this level and hope not to do the same thing? Going back to the warp room doesn't go to the bonus room entrance :(
what culture is this level based on? I always thought somthing like Indonesian or pacific islander or even aboriginal australian? it always confused me as a kid
XD XD XD XD XD!!!!! Dying when I read this... THIS is ME: (emulate Garland) I have got to do this level correctly. However, since I'm very Asian, *collects EVERY single Wumpa Fruit*. *Spins accidentally one fruit away* *jumps off cliff* MUST...BE...PERFECT...UNTIL...I...DIE!!!!!!!!
I remember when I was 6 I played this level and I didnt know about spinning the Logs... I liked it so much... but now we can spin em' makes me hate the log idea now...
The scenery to this level is jaw-dropping.
1:27 In all my years of playing Crash Bandicoot 2 on my PS1 and then PS2, I never knew you could knock those logs away.
love the music in this game
luv the bassline on the bonus muzik
Unanimously, this was my favourite stage as a child.

I never knew about the secret warp to get the extra boxes. I use to just jump the gap and back track to collect em all.
and the last 1 was on one of the sewer levels with eals and stuff, after dropping down from some higher area, run backwards towars the screen and jump down another hole, get to the other end of this area and you get teleported to the final secret portal

This level always reminded me of the game Croc. Also, the monkey's shadow at 0:50 ALWAYS freaked me out as a kid.

apples flying apples flying everywhere x'D
I manage to complete Road to Ruin in one shot WITHOUT going through Diggin' It/Secret Warp Room.. And I got the video to prove it.
Oh thank you. I was wondering where the secret entrance was. I also managed to clear the gap from the normal entrance... admittedly on my 30Trillionth try.
You're simply amazing. There really isn't another way to put it. No wonder your name is GarlandTheGreat.
I managed to jump the gap from the normal entrance. Took me about a dozen attempts tho. I just wanted to know how to unlock the secret entrance.
I actually found it easier than the red gem grab on the 2nd stage.
Dude all of the bonuses took me ages! You make it look easy, but it's not! Wow, your soo good, good run!
Yes, I realize that.
The skull platform doesn't show up for me and I have all the grey and colored gems except for the purple one, what gives?
You know, it wouldve been a huge challenge if surprise boxes also blew up sometimes, so its either wumpa, a life, or...BOOM!
Well, since that big tower is in fact Cortex Island, you already went there in Crash bandicoot 1 ! ^^
i love the music

This how I do it: Jump on each box one by one, and then jump on the TNT last. XD
I always take my time when I play Crash. It's more fun for me, lol.
flawless victory!
i love this level
ths is no joke but the rats sound like Scrabs from Oddworld !!!
@WarlordPichu
If you always assume, you'll never know the truth. =P
Like me and my stupidity with the TNT box at the beginning of the level...
I discovered today that it is possible to get the skull route gem without using the skull platform: you can jump straight to the gem. The jump is easily the hardest in the game, I managed to get the gem but I somehow got stuck on the platform it was floating on >_>
@ECDT1089
What would be the alternative?
@JeSangtae: Oh, when I say theme, I mean level theme, not theme tune.
@passiveMenis Spin jump across the gap at 0:31-0:32.
With some luck, you can do this without going through the secret portal. I was able to jump from the start to the secret area, but it's really hard to do it in 1 try.
yep your right
Is this level supposed to be sunset vista at night time. I've been playing this game for 15 years and never once saw the resemblance in the background.
This level is like Ruination level, except it does not have the rain and lightning.
So let me get this straight... if you mess up and die before getting to the skull and bones platform, you have to do "Diggin It" again just to get to this level and hope not to do the same thing? Going back to the warp room doesn't go to the bonus room entrance :(
Never mind un-bearable is easier. Still a pain in the ass though.
Or you could save before entering the alternate doorway.
You do realize that you DID NOT have to go to the secret warp room to get those boxes, right?
the aku aku thing from 2:20-2:24 sound like "my credit card!"
catchy music
what culture is this level based on? I always thought somthing like Indonesian or pacific islander or even aboriginal australian? it always confused me as a kid
I would say it's inspired by Mayan architecture, like the ruin levels in the first game.
Did you ever try speedruns in this game?
look at the previous video.
@ECDT1089
Is there footage of this?
man i can't shortcut from the normal entrance to secret entrance path ah well i saw a video with a person doing it
Watch the last video (Part 19). its in there.
XD XD XD XD XD!!!!! Dying when I read this...
THIS is ME: (emulate Garland) I have got to do this level correctly. However, since I'm very Asian, *collects EVERY single Wumpa Fruit*. *Spins accidentally one fruit away* *jumps off cliff* MUST...BE...PERFECT...UNTIL...I...DIE!!!!!!!!
what level do you go to to get the secret entrance to road to ruin?
Diggin it. Body slam one of the spitting plants.
i never get scared you all know the deal, patrol my hood keeping things for real
hey i got all the gems, but how do u unlock the secret warproom 4 this level
Why was that open at 0:57
the whole background it like one from orginal crash game
1:13, 1:31 LOL!!!
how do u get the secret entrance?
You can glitch anyway
@WarlordPichu
uhhh you are not alone :D I´m ashamed * hide in the ruins*
getting 3 masks aint hard seens as you can get 2 masks from previous levels and use them in other ones so all he neededwas 1 make to obviosuly get 3
ahah if u dash jump its possible to do without the warp zone XD but difficult

i clicked like, a little bit before i finished watching the video, just 2 be a little more detailed :P
Wait so you pop the "!" Box to get the skull platform to appear ?!
I love night levels. =)
Oye men la miniatura del video da miedo
Wow, not exactly a complex bonus stage or bonus entrance.
I remember when I was 6 I played this level and I didnt know about spinning the Logs... I liked it so much... but now we can spin em' makes me hate the log idea now...
