It was about 20 years ago or so, that I got to see an actual meteorite about to strike the earth. I was doing a driving motor route delivering newspapers at about 4am. I was headed East when a bright white round globe went across my complete view of the sky from South to North. I swear it looked so low in the sky, I expected to hear a loud bang when it hit. I live in Northeastern Pennsylvania and the news that day said it hit in Canada. Last time I googled meteorites hitting the earth, that one was still listed. It felt kind of special knowing I was one of the few people up at that time in the morning to witness such an incredible event.
@@barnlam If that was a fantastic occurrence, how about this. I live in the hard Anthracite coal region of Pennsylvania. About 30 years ago, my 8 year old daughter and I were walking the mountains around our community. By chance, her keen eyesight saw a large fossil part way in the ground yet. We dug it out and low and behold it was a 300 million year old imprint of the bark of a tree from our past. The story was on the news and she even received a “Children in the News Award” from the state of Pennsylvania. She eventually placed it on permanent loan to our local high school. When we were at the National Museum of Natural History in Washington DC, they had a fossil of a similar tree but her’s had much more definition. Not a bad learning experience for a young child huh?
Hi I seen one around 1994 it was that low in the sky that it looked like a red ball shooting across the sky I live in Ireland and nothing was reported on the news that it landed anywhere in Ireland but I live only a few miles from the Atlantic Ocean so it most probably landed somewhere in the ocean. If something like that actually hit Ireland God only knows what damage it would have caused
@@pathfinder1962 Roughly 70% of the earth’s surface is water. So your deduction of it hitting the Atlantic Ocean is correct. Although with it looking red, it may have been so hot, it could have exploded and you couldn’t hear it. So I guess you and I are in a special group of people who witnessed a Meteorite. Although if I remember this correctly, it’s known a a Meteor when it’s outside our atmosphere. When it enters our atmosphere, it becomes a meteorite. I believe that’s how it works.
A gem! Only a word, a name, spoken in the first 15 minutes, yet I was totally intrigued. The leading man certainly earned that title & carried the entire film. Please, add the sequel this set us up for . . . . . 💞~👵
I often enjoy an after the fall of civilization, for whatever reason survival movie. We live on the side of a mountain and become snowed in for 4 - 5 months a year. It's not a big deal because over the years you prefect the art of squirreling away supplies you actually need. I find hits and misses in nearly every film on the subject. This film set some 10 years after the event remained rather tame. The 3 thugs traveling around in a new gassed up Ford pick up with phone service directed by their rich employers to go hunt down a girl was a miss. The line about water being hard to come by when you're a hundred yards from the lake was an oversight. The real battle is staying human which I feel this film addressed quite well.
I was not expecting that kind of film. I had autoplay on and seemed to be going through a series of disaster movies while I couldn't sleep. There was a disaster element to this, but it was more in the background and instead a very character driven story. Interesting enough to keep me entertained, and I can be fussy 🙂 The two main characters and the Doctor were well performed and the cinematography was good too.
So I came in and the guy is saying the mercenaries want her and will sell her to the highest rich man on “some island” who will bid on her, they have hired mercenaries to find food and “other stuff” for them.
Just a quick observation, opening credits say 10 YEARS LATER but all the grass you see under the swings and around the dumped rubbish is nicely trimmed!
In an end of the world situation those three pretty boys would have been bird food before they reached the front door. This movie wasn’t about the end, this movie was entirely about what not to do. Pretty stupid and completely mind numbing situations.
This movie raised so many questions. Conditions looked good but I thought the atmosphere would be affected by meteorite impacts and that would affect all things in the surrounding but the birds were able to survive and yet people source out food in an immoral way. What happened to cattle and growing vegetables? All looked good enough to still do. No explanation to any in the movie. Kind of became distracting.
This is a terrible movie, too violent for my tastes. Sorry. it had much potential, but wow, seems the writer ran out of ideas on what to do with the basic plot. Too bad. NOT something I ever care to watch again. I was so shocked, I had to take a break from watching it, just to be able to watch the last 20 minutes. Bummer film.
Lol!! There governor is the worst I've ever heard of. They can't even take care of there homeless. Not to mention people are literally running from California! Very funny😅

I usually prefer an action packed A Grade movie and actors, but now and then a half decent B grade is a relaxing watch, thank you.

I had seen this movie before, but forgotten how it went. It was good to see again. Thanks for sharing this with us. 🙂
Just started watching if a meteorite hits you would not hear the birds chirping for a long time
Did you miss the 'ten years later' bit?...
Someone finally came up with a new idea for a movie. New to me, anyway.
So I came in and the guy is saying the mercenaries want her and will sell her to the highest rich man on “some island” who will bid on her, they have hired mercenaries to find food and “other stuff” for them.
Good movie for the budget. The ending does seem like it’s the beginning of a series though.
I guess they are eating people in this movie. He just said the mercenaries were gonna eat her and now they will sell her to rich people that will.
Well darn. So this is a horror movie?
Midnight upload some uk sci-fi movies from uk 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍
Well worth watching.
Good movie thank you
S-L-O-W-est movie in history. Ugh.
I just started watching but I'm definitely getting that Vibe too. Lol

Not bad. But an inconclusive end. Was this the leader for a series?

good movie. But im still confused at the end after dyinng he gets hung lol

Is this a documentary about california?
I think it's more about the failures in republican states
I'd say California. At least parts of LA and San Francisco.
@@a.salmon8193 the most deprived and the lowest educated areas with the highest crime rates tend to be republican states.

The end of the world is known only to God, who created the heavens and the earth and created this great universe
Isaiah 46:10 "I the Lord make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times what is still to come." See Matthew 24:3-14........
