With all respects to the General and his wisdom, his prediction of the Ukraine incursion that it lasts (at the most) 1 week was not 'spot-on'. Most of the Indian media got it wrong - but do not acknowledge
The fact that you have a person who can think out of box and provide a contrary view is commendable. As to spot on please look at what the general said in a series of his talks from 10 months ago.
Thank you, Sree. It was a great decision to invite the good General to your show on such a serious topic. It is always a delight to listen to Gen Ravi Shankar and get his thoughts on issues of strategic importance.
I want India to grow for India and Indians not the western world ... Jai ho General Sahib you echo the true wisdom of our nation. My big salute to you sir !
Modern economics has shown that growth can happen by collaborating with other countries - We learnt that lesson in 1990. One cannot just grow for oneself in this hyper-connected modern world. Our host, the General also emphasizes the same - China is going through de-globalization and going down. If you notice, Indian growth happened because of exchange of technologies, labor and monies.
Lt. Gen. Shankar 's analysis and logic is absolutely great. Thank you Sreeji to create and host this Channel. Introduction of 75 ragas to celebrate our 75 years of independence. In my opinion India got independence in 1947 but BHARAT got independence from 2014 after Modiji became the PM

Listening to Desh gave me goose bumps. Sanskrit does that to me. Thank you. General Sahib’s presentation is illuminating. As a student of politics, history and sociology I have been wondering and suspecting about the internal affairs of China. Ever since 1980s when the economic tide turned in Japan I became aware how the export and wealth does not guarantee a lasting position. Japan has stagnated even though she remains the car makers for the world. China too will stagnate, I see the similar symptoms. My real concern is the possible Indo-Chinese conflict. If and when that occurs I hope it happens as India moves towards Lhasa rather than China moves in Nepal, Sikkim and or Bhutan..... India must not tolerate China south of Himalayas.

General said in 2020, in the early stages of the pandemic, that China would get hit by wave after wave COVID due to zero COVID policy; he also said in 2021 that Xi Jin Ping is a GOOD thing for India because his various policies (state control, confrontation with US etc) will peg China back! Amazing analysis 🙏🙏🙏

Iyer, I appreciate the "Concept" of Classical Interludes -in your Channels - more as I myself am a Hindustani Musician (by Hobby) and Hence have a fair Raga knowledge- in terms of Audience Following, 'Pan India', the Hindustani Shaili ( as compared to the Karnataka shaili ) have a "larger" following - hence you may "alternate" -1 week Karnataka/1week Hindustani which will have a wider "viewer outreach" too....Technically, "DESH" in Hindustani is sung a bit "differently" from Karnataka music - ( it originates from 'Khamaj'Thaat ) a- also "Desh" and "Tilak Kamod" are similar, same Notes...but different treatment - the Beauty of our Classical Music
What is so interesting is your interest in the descent of China. What you should be concerned with is how is India gonna be doing in the future. Are u sure u will be doing well ? Small minds get small results.
a) Has there been analysis of trade relations between Switzerland and China in terms of technology and banking ? b) With corruption coming into picture, Swiss banks as well as few other European banks will be definitely coming into picture.
hello everyone.. it is well known that china's covid vaccine doesn't work..why don't they ask India for help as our vaccines are very efficient and safe..our relations can also improve..??
A Well researched brilliant presentation by Lt. Gen. 1. Loved it when he called China 🇨🇳 a sick lizard! Spot On. 2. True, China 🇨🇳 is too big to fail. The majority of the pundits are sensationalising this downward trend calling it a crash. Even so China will lumber/limp on. 3. Falling population is not a problem as people make it out to be. As it is unemployment is apparently high. Automation, Robotics and AI will fill the gap. Besides GDP is a pie that is shared by the people. Smaller the population, the more the individuals share. Imagine if Bharat’s 🇮🇳 population reduces by half. The per capita income will double. Something to shoot for, for 2100. 4. Xi is taking China 🇨🇳 back to MAO’s ideology and undoing what Deng and Jintao did. Mao is worshipped by the Aam Aadmi of China. Even though The elite know better. 5. China’s 🇨🇳 export oriented economic progress was fuelled by small companies that provided consumer goods. Then contract companies sprouted to provide electronic items. All because of Kissinger’s “brilliance” that unleashed the dragon. But that is being reversed thanks to Xi. Then came the rise of a Billionaire Class that Xi saw as a threat. There are three factions in the CCP and this faction was threatened. They probably were part of the Shanghai faction. So Xi did a power grab. First he got rid of term limits and consolidated his power while getting voted for a third term. He sided with Jintao to knock of the Shanghai faction and then stabbed Jintao in the back. 6. Taking over Taiwan 🇹🇼 would require an amphibious invasion. Like Lt. Gen said it won’t happen. If it does the US will get involved and the two will embarrass themselves. Ships and planes are sitting ducks to guided missiles. 7. Lt. Gen is absolutely spot on that Bharat 🇮🇳 is a rising third pole. Should be self reliant and not cosy up to the world’s largest thug, namely the USA 🇺🇸. Unlike Prof. Nalapat who sounds like a USA 🇺🇸lobbyist. 8. Bharat 🇮🇳 should facilitate the dismembering of Pakistan and rally local POK support to recover POK. 9. China 🇨🇳 sees the Himalayas as a water 💦 reservoir and that ought to be Bharat’s main concern. Grabbing the water at Bharat’s expense is the real issue. In this respect the PLA is a rabid barking dog 🐩 whose bite, if any should be neutralised. 10. China’s 🇨🇳 interest in the South China Seas is for oil and gas. If it could result in China 🇨🇳 becoming energy self sufficient. Something Bharat 🇮🇳 should aim for through nuclear power and Hydrogen. As Lt. Gen concluded China 🇨🇳 will continue to play a role in Global Geo Politics and trade. The extent probably be a lot smaller than previously predicted.
Gen Shankar's observations on China are accurate. China has burned its bridges to the rest of the world under Xi. It is India's turn to shine. Smart people in a democratic country that behaves responsibly and considerately.
While I greatly respect General's analysis, I want to hear him talk about Ukraine - even though he initially expected the invasion to be over in a few days
48:30 It's interesting that the General does not consider Russia a pole in itself. Why? Hasn't the Ukraine conflict convincingly demonstrated that Russia has arrived? That would make it a future four poles to which a Chinese academic at a Raisina conference some years back commented three poles were a stable configuration but four poles were not.
Interesting analysis. However, the fact they have put a space station on their own developments shows they are way ahead in this technology compared to others. For the raw products for vaccine production India is heavily dependent on China and if necessary China could easily move into vaccine production as they have shown for Covid. I agree there is a slow down in China but not sure how long it will last. Their speed for building military hardware is unmatched. A war is inevitable to grab the oil reach areas in the Pacific. Outcome I think will like the Ukarine crisis dragged on for months and years with no winner. Hope this never happens for if it does we all suffer.
Dr. Kannikeswaran's composition and your program are perfectly complimentory to each other ! Please continue !! 👌👍
