- A update on what's been going on with the Boss Hoss. This is the first time I rode it on some twisty roads. For a short drive it has some interesting moments. Almost got hit by a car. Ran out of gas. Plus some wildlife. Last 10 minutes or so i shut my mouth so that the sounds of the bike are better. Audio is kind of crappy on a phone but engine sounds are pretty cool with nice speakers.
Riding a 2000 Boss Hoss 502.
I'd check a 747 graveyard for suspension parts 😁👍 I love those Boss Hoss bikes. Thanks for sharing. I've been addicted to watching the Boss Hoss bikes in action for the last week. They just started to grow on me out of nowhere. Impressive. I'd guess it feels like riding a rocket.
The transmissions are for racing. The engine-trans should last 500,000mi.
Good idea. 747 nose gear may be softer then this stock front end. Lol
wish you always nice trips.
Nice video...
I had 2 Kannon V8 bikes 20+ years ago. ❤ Check around the boating sites for captains call mechanical silencers. I saw a video somewhere on a guy that had something similar on his Hoss. Push a button....quiet! Push again....loud! Good luck!
They have the cut out exhaust for cars I have looked at. They need more distance from the header then I got and still no room without mufflers on the outside of the swing arm. I will check to see if the boat ones are any different. Thank you for the suggestion.
I will say that having a car tire on the back has saved me a bundle. First car tire I had lasted me two years before a 3 inch bolt went through the middle that was quarter inch thick. Manage to plug it a drive it for another week. If I had a motorcycle tire on the back. I would have gone through it in less then a year. The original Boss Hoss had a car tire on the back. But you probably already know that.
Do car tires make it difficult to corner?
@@naavidmorshed5516 No, I do not find it difficult to corner on a car tire. Sometimes I scrape the pegs. Since I have a Honda Goldwing F6B the weight of the bike made motorcycle tires wear down square anyways and I adapted to it. But the big problem motorcycle tires was the fact that I lost all that tread and it did not last all that long. I ride all year. Motorcycle tires would wear down in 6 months. That is why I have a car tire on the back and a rear dual adventure tire on the front. Sorry for the long winded answer. But I find the car tire works for me and is cheaper. It lasted me almost two years before a bolt on the highway punched a hole in the middle of it. Had to get a new one.
@@alanrintala3872 thanks for the reply. It was a genuine question so I appreciate the long form answer
Sorry you've had a lot of trouble getting parts. Keep at it. I don't have a Boss Hoss yet but I do think all the work is worth it. I do have a Honda Goldwing F6B which is my daily rider and I ride all year in through the winter in Toronto, Canada. It has taken me a little while to get it set up for those kinds of conditions. That is the tires (double darksiding and there are a lot of naysayers) and gear. Keep trying. Maybe call Mountain Boss Hoss in Pennsylvania. They might have some good pointer. I always thought once I get a Boss Hoss (383 Stroker with carburetor). I was going to start playing arround with hydrogen. Once again keep trying.
Thanks for the support. That's bad ass you ride your gold wing year round. I been playing with setting up a set of studded darkside tires for the boss hoss. Mountain boss hoss is who I been thinking of getting the bags from. Been checking our boss hoss concepts as well. The other one is California boss hoss. They are a couple hours from the house so would like to visit them and see what they got going on. Hope you don't have to wait to long to get your dream BH.
I hope I won't have to wait all that long. Selection of Boss Hoss Moyorcycles here is very limited. Might have to go to Mountain. The studs I was thinking of using myself is car studs. Haven't needed them yet. But they are nice, short, and enough to grab on to the ice. Fortunately the roads are pretty clear here. Last winter there was just two weeks of heavy snowfall and one week. That is the only time I didn't ride. My better half (wife) would panic. Regular snow fall is easier to ride in. It just blows arround you and better than rain. But maybe with the new job I'll be able to get Boss Hoss. Was working as a motorcycle mechanic (season came to an end here). Now starting as a lift truck mechanic.
Wrap the exhaust tubes nearest your legs , if you want to spend money get them ceramic coated reduces the heat ,
