Nice to see the DEF tank on the correct side. What were they thinking with putting it on the passenger side? What a pain! I also wish they would put the fuse panel in a place where you can access it....even back in the glove box would be an improvement. C9 is ridiculous to get to.

I hauled my first load of logs in 1977 in a 1967 Diamond Rio with a 355 HP Detroit Diesel and 5/4 transmission that had to be shifted with both hands.
I was 14 years old, and when a trooper pulled me over, and asked me if I was 16, I lied and told him I was. He told me to be careful and left. A boy was expected to pull his weight back then...

IT is no necesary to use two hands in a 5x4 i drove oilfield trucks with 5x4 4x4 6x4 10 + 4 13 +4 allison + 4for many years

I like the seat that spins around. It’s been a long time since I have driven a 13 speed though.....wait my truck lost 7th and 3rd about a month back... I guess that was technically a 13 speed 😬

I was so excited to get a brand new 680 about 5 years ago. I ran it for almost 300,000 miles. It was an absolute piece of garbage. It leaked water and got moldy in my closet. The interior is cheap plastic. The handles on everything inside would break. The fender lights would always fill with water. I went through 4 sets of steer tires as it would never hold its alignment. Always in and out of the shop with engine issues. Typical Cummins crap engines.

What year cummins ur taking about? I have old cummins 2005 only issues its seeping oil but it got a million miles, my buddy got 2017 660. Problem free. Only those i heard of are 2009-2013.
This truck is only missing 4 things.
- Studio sleeper package like the W900 (the sleeper couch).
- Seprate sleeper entrance door, like the Peterbilt 579.
- Digital speedometer readout.
- Pull out ladder for the top bunk (again, like the Pete 579).
If this truck had those options, than this would be the best truck on the market IMHO.

I am buying a new truck the end of March it will be a second truck for a driver. We would like to get the 990 but just cannot justify the cost when we can a Lonestar hard loaded with electric APU for less than 150K, Kenworth wont budge under 165K for the same power train spec in a truck that is not loaded & no APU.
Does Kenworth really think the product they offer is that much better? Kenworth builds great trucks in my opinion, I just can't afford them.
$15,000 can be easily made back on the resale. Check out the used values on any international right now. Those lonestars have specific parts just for that model that can also be quite costly. The other thing is that international has a horrible reputation right now for reliability. The market is saturated with used trucks and might be a good time to buy a used low km pacaar product if you can't afford a new one. I know a guy that has a 3.5 year old w900 with apu that was offered a pathetic $75,000 on trade in.
We have been all over the resale thing & I see Paacar not bringing a lot over other manufacturers.
As for reliability, we own 2 International trucks & could not be happier they are both 2019 models with the redesigned cab & interior.
We paid $113,000 for our Lonestar with 80,000 miles on it & $125,000 for our LT new.
They have the same drive train as the KW’s Cummins & Eaton with Spicer rears so wouldn’t it make sense if we have major repairs on these trucks we would have the same issues with Paccar?
I really like the interior fit & trim of the KW they have great build quality, my only issue is justifying the 30k price difference.
As for the Paccar engine, I’m not ready to go there plus the resale is not good with a Paccar engine.

It should have a X15 Performance engine, 13 speed, and the side skirts and exhaust up the back. Sorry, Andy that's just me.

Fuel is about 1mpg worse on the x15 vs mx, and similar performance, we just ran both the 2020s this year.
@@bradgrimm6982 The guys who don't pay attention on the fuel consumption, so like to have a Cummins, will earn less or will lose market at the end.

Would be super nice if you do that again with other engines like Cummins L9, X12 or Paccar MX11... I've never listen one of those 2 last in person... there are not many engines like those here in México.

Hey Andy, like the new intro! Knowing that you guys don't or can't talk specific pricing in this type of forum, was curious about the relative price difference on a specific option and if you could speak to that? If you are able, could you tell me the approximate price difference in the Endurant 12 sp and the Eaton 13 sp AMT?
I did notice the visor, I guess with the W990 using the same cab and sleeper and having the visor it's able to be offered on the T680 and possibly the T880. Another great video and a great looking truck.

Hi Andy, Paccar offers 530hp engine since 2018 on DAF trucks here in Europe,it's strange they didn't do the same for NA line.Good vid as always.Be cool.👍

Would like to spec a midroof truck for bulk chemical tanker. Need to be able to haul 45k of product. In a freightliner now but would like a better seal on the truck. Have had issues with water leaking in and shorting out electronics. I've heard Kenworth and Pete both have a excellent seal. I have driven a one Kenworth and the turning radius was terrible (larger wheel base I think?). I have also heard the mx engine had some issues with engine pitting. Just trying to get more educated on speccing truck for the bulk tanker application.

Why and I mean why. Would you put lights in the tow pin sockets. They are for tow pins. Like mounting those little rabbit bumpers in the tow pin hole. Then get stuck and guess what. Your really stuck. Have to remove items to have access to pin sockets. Is that really a good idea to do that.
The pins slide in beside the lights. The hole is still open.

Why does Paccar offer Multi-Torque ratings for their MX-13 engine? For instance, if you wanted 1750 lb-ft of torque, you'd have to get it at 1550/1750.

The Australian T610 looks better, and why do you still use am CB radios? We use UHF now you wouldn't find a bulky old CB in a truck these days.
We have both. The factory only supplies the CB and we have customers install their UHF radio

Under frame exhaust is a piss poor idea, you will be choking on diesel exhaust when idling in the winter and so will the guys parked next to you at the truck stop. I dont even know how this was given approval by the DOT. This is a very dangerous design flaw, even the sleeper heater exhaust exits inches from the sleeper.
Exhaust is clean and the trucks don’t idle because of factory heater and ac unit
I HATE that stupid radar system.

I've been so obsessed with Kenworth, that I named my son after.
My Ex wife wait for the 1st fight after my son born, about 3 months later and have changed my son name w/o telling me.
Just knew 6 months after, once my son get sick and I have to take him to American Fork, UT Hospital.
They couldn't find him on the system by the SSN.
So they adviser me to go to the health dept and figure it out what going on.
Surprisingly the bitch change my son name to Skylar..

What they dont tell you is the cost to maintain this rolling disaster... I take an old A model any day over that so called technology..

Is the new transmission ruined by fuel-efficiency dominated software like the Eaton model? Eaton makes a great transmission and PACCAR makes a great engine and the emission control systems are noteworthy ... but some engineering C.L.O.W.N. decided that mileage bragging rights are worth destroying the performance, the reputation, and the customer base of all three...
Educated beyond their intelligence quotient and too busy patting each other on the back and fkng each others wives at dinner parties to worry about the person actually living in the vehicle they so haphazardly designed
The automatics are catching up to the automotive transmissions. The manuals are great for the experienced operator and the autos are also good for the old driver who has a bad shoulder or leg for clutching and shifting. The products are great.
Went cheap on outside of truck and swivel seat and table should be standard ,,,,get rid of pac car engine there junk,,,,Cummins 565 is only way to go with 18 speed and 3:73 rears
