We have been full-time liveaboards since May 2020. We spent the first year and a half aboard a 1965 Alberg 30 that we have owned since 2010. We recently upgraded to a 1980 Tartan 37 named Acadia and we are so excited to continue our cruising journey! Be sure to SUBSCRIBE to see our journey!

Woohooo! Loved the angles of y’all showing how much space there is… it’s a world apart 😁😁 Congrats!🎉🎈🎊🍾
Many congratulations! It’s a beautiful and very useable boat. Well done! Next time you come through the Chesapeake let me know I’ll bring snacks over in the dingy. Maybe even in the Wye!
Congratulations! She is really nice.
Nice choice!
Nice Beta. I’m literally about to install that engine for my refit of a Westsail 32.
Good boat & outstanding bang for the Buck! - sails well with safe, predictable manners & nimble in the marina as well. First thing I thought was ‘wet decks’- glad that’s been addressed! Well done!
Congrats!
Thank you!!
I am very happy for you two. Fine new boat you have there!
Thank you so much!
Congratulations on your new-to-you boat! It certainly sounds like it ticks all the boxes for you.
Thank you!
Glad I "stayed tune", This is a great boat, I am sure you will enjoy all of it. Is it a Centerboard version? What is happening with Ecola? Cheers
😁 thank you! It is the centerboard version! Ecola will be listed for sale in the spring when we get back to Maryland. We are really struggling with the idea of selling her but we can’t afford to keep them both.
Congratulations on the "new" Tartan - a solid and good sailing boat! A few questions: what happens to the Alberg 30? Will she be listed, or is she already sold? Where on the Wye were you? My grandparents lived at Presqu'ile on Wye, on the Wye East about halfway between Shaw Bay and Dividing Creek. Only a shallow water dock, but a floating boat show every weekend! Had a neighbor who had a Tartan 37, and after two winters in the Bahamas, his cruising days were eclipsed by property maintenance. Made me convinced that it is better to look at waterfront property from the perspective of a boat's cockpit, than the other way around. I still feel that way 40 years later.
Thank you! We are so happy!
The Alberg will be listed for sale in the spring. She hasn’t sold yet but we have a list of interested individuals.
We are near the wye institute. Andy’s grandparents bought the house in the early 80s to keep their sailboat so it has a nice deep dock ☺️. It’s a great area, we really love it because it’s an easy few hours to so many great places!
@@AbroadReachTravel add me to the list of interested buyers for the alberg in the spring.
@@williamcathey4804 We have added an option to receive notification about the Alberg 30 on our email list. If you sign up here: eepurl.com/grtzJD and check the "sale of our alberg 30" box, you'll get an email when we list in the spring!
Congratlations your new boat found YOU! She looks really nice and the new engine is a major score.
Got to ask did the name of the vessel play in the purchase or did you rename her. Had to ask with a "Maineiac" aboard.
Be safe and may you have Fair Winds and Following Seas.
Thank you we are so happy! We did rename her 😁 her old name was Steadfast but the previous owners asked us not to use it.
She is beautiful! May I ask, is the oven gimbaled? I am replacing my kerosene stove to lpg and my oven looks similar. ❤️
Thank you! Yes the oven is gimbaled. It’s a propane one. It’s definitely an older model but I’m loving it so far! I’ve used it almost every day!
I'm curious about how you found the boat... Broker? Yachtworld? Sailboatlistings? Word of mouth?
We found this one on yacht world. We had been checking yachtworld, Facebook marketplace, the facebook group “sailboats for sale by owner” and Craigslist for a few months as we were trying to figure out what models we were interested in and this one popped up just before we were going to give up until the spring!
