It's still crazy that this happened. I grew up with Linkin Park, I had Hybrid Theory, Meteroa, Live in Texas and Re-animation. So many of those songs are things I don't go out of my way to listen to, but I still love and know them by heart. Life is crazy and eventually I fell out of keeping in touch with their new albums and usually caught songs on the radio. It's disheartening to know the kind of pain Chester was feeling, even though he had so many fans, friends, a family. In a way, these stars feel larger than life, like they're characters written about but it really hits home with stuff like this that they're just human, like all of us.
