@@AbstrDistr 😰😰😰😂😂 definitely no threat there... I was asked several times to make a folding knife and I don't know if I could make one. Now, that design seems a good start as the mechanism doesn't seem complicated... I won't take any credits for the design if I manage to make one of course.
Ill absolutely have to make one at my shop. Already shared the vid to my brother and hes on board. He has designed an excellent knife, perfect for the pocket, and sturdy enough that i could take it into the bush with me
I like the final product, but have to slap you for the things you do at 4:56 and again at 5:52. The absolute worst possible combinations of things you can do. Free hand drilling WITH gloves on. At least put a stop on the table if nothing else. Sorry for the critique, but the injury you are flirting with will happen so fast, you will only be able to watch.
@Darragh Treacy Keep in mind he's using a drill press to drill through metal. A drill press has very strong torque and drill bits have sharp edges that can grab things. Gloves are something that a drill bit can grab and twist. You can see the affect yourself. Take a hand drill and loosely pinch, BUT DO NOT WEAR, a glove around the tip of the bit then quickly press an release the trigger. You can see how the glove wraps around the bit. A drill press is much stronger than a hand drill. Also, it happens more easily with thin gloves but that doesn't mean that it wouldn't happen with thick gloves. The second issue is that the bit can grab the metal part and quickly spin it; possibly even launching it. I feel that you can imagine how dangerous that can be; especially if the metal is sharp. It's safer to use a drill press vice, use a fence for the drill press, or firmly clamp the part to the table of the drill press.
Sensible coolest design. It will slide in like butter inside my 501 back pocket and its hefty blade will be a nice companion and would be ready for any task! Great piece of work!

Quality or quantity. That is the question here. Handmade is handmade and less use of machinery. I'm a qualified iron worker and when it's handmade it speaks for itself.
Awesome work! If you want to color brass or copper I use this stuff called cold blue it’s for steel but it’ll blacked brass and copper. I do my copper knife scales the hit with steel wool to get the highs, makes it look like oil rubbed bronze.
That's dope man. You have some nice tools as well. I'd love to see more of the tool you use to put the bevel on your blades with. The one you made out of a door hinge.
I watch a lot of blacksmithing, cutlery, well....stuff like this. For a long time. This is first to REALLY grab my attention in years. Your beautiful creation kind of reminds me of Christopher Lee as "Scaramanger" in James Bond, assembling his Golden Gun out of his EDC of pen, cigarette case and lighter.
Nice, I have had an old cheapy Chinese one of those kicking around for years and always thought "that would make a great knife if the tolerances and materials were better" Now I see I was right!!!
Świetny jest ten cały nuż wykonany i jak się ma profesionalny sprzęt do wszystkiego to da się wszystko zrobić i dokonać pozdrawiam twórcę tego filmiku serdecznie 👍👍👍👍
Work hardening the brass handle/sheath. Smart work, makes it far more durable. Honestly i would buy this. I do a lot of bushcrafting and having that would make a great basic camp knife that would be easy to carry around in my pocket unstead of the usual sheath for mine.

I have a similar knife as this but nowhere nearly as well executed. Cheap Chinese piece I think. I bought it for its uniqueness. I stumbled across your channel and now I’ve watched 3 builds in a row. Simple designs but nicely done. 👍
That's a pretty good idea really. The way it folds means it can't collapse if you're making a thrusting motion such. I've had such unfortunate incident taking the meat off a coconut once
That is an awesome folding knife. Hope you don't mind if I try to make the same!!!

Yup had that happen to me once, thankfully with a cordless drill not a press no injuries except a bruised ego and soar fingers.
Happened to me once. And will never happen again lol. Luckily I didn’t get cut but I was sore for about a week.
