I’m not proud to admit that I watched with a morbid fascination of the spinning blades…How long before our hero, Professor DAS, finds his precious digits drawn into the rapacious maw?? 🙈 Good on ya for not just unloading a can of WD40 on this sucker🤪
Hey that was even more dangerous than it looked. If I lost my digits, i'd have to resort to analogue. Both my kids are eager to cut the lawn with this monster. We'll see how long that lasts! Thank you for your continuous support and great comments DAS.
Thank you. No it is not supposed to sound like that. Maybe it got hit & put it off balance. Maybe try a bit of oil. Do both wheels turn easily? Right the metal doesn't touch.
Can you fix a squealing gas mower? I got my reel mower at walmart just like this one. no tools needed to put it together. mine squeals exactly the same from the very first use!
@@daslab68 I'm not sure. I try to spin the blade and it seems tight to spin. My neighbour said the same thing, that it is tough to spin. IT doesn't seem to touch the deck. It started squealing as I was using it at the end of the season. Got any ideas? thanks
@@mranderson5668 Please make sure the spark plug wire is disconnected before you try spinning it so that it doesnt start up on you. Try spinning it with the spark plug screwed out of the cylinder head. it should spin freely with no compression when the spark plug is out. if it is still tough to spin I would suspect some lower end damage. Perhaps gas flooded the crank case and you had poor or NO lubrication and have mangled up your crank shaft.
I ended up getting a kit to back lap it. It worked pretty well. A stone would be hard to do on the curved surfaces, but it would be sharp when you were done.
I appreciate the pun in the title. Thanks for the squeak help!
HEHE I like to have fun with the title, even if it dose NOT help me in the search engine!
thank you! just bought my first push mower and this worked!
Glad I could help!
This indeed worked for me as well. Thank you 👍
Great to hear!
I’m so glad I found this
Me too!
Might have been a 'self sharpening' mower. I have one and it makes a horrible noise. I'm going to try loosening the tension, as you did. Thanks!
Good luck!

Squealing Gas Mower? Sounds Bad. engine trouble? Or is the blade rubbing on the deck?

@@daslab68 thanks, i will give it a try!
Did you end up sharpening it with the stone or backlapping? Only used a stone on mine and needs more work.

Spray some fluid film on it
Yep. that could work
U didn't tight it
good catch
