Thanks for posting! I made one using your design. Took about 1 1/2 hours. I use a blow dryer on low instead of the cpu fan. Works great for my parrot seed.
I’ve written up the design after watching your video and I plan on using wood instead of cardboard. I harvest many seeds every summer and autumn multiple times so I want it to be a bit more durable. Some adjustments I’ve made is an adjustable ramp in front of the fan using a bolt and wing nut with a cutout in the plexi to allow for a metal dowel to move the shelf and an $18 cooling fan with adjustable speed and plugs into an outlet. Thank you for this video! I’m not very creative when it comes to self-engineering solutions and couldn’t do it without you. Subscribing to your channel now. 🎉
I separated the husk and wheat by putting the wheat into a pillow case with something heavy like a dog kong and or golf balls, tie it up good and tight and put into dryer on air fluff for about 5 min or more if needed. This knocks almost all the wheat berry from the chaff
Hello, I am trying to build the similar seed separator machine. It almost works, but I am having some problems. It sorts the seeds from the husks, but not completely. How many degrees should the angles be and how powerful should the fan be? If you can also provide any schematics that would be useful. Thank you
If you already built it and the shells are dropping on the seed side, increase the fan power. If the seeds are dropping on the shell side, decrease the fan power. The angle of the slope can be anywhere form 30 degrees to 45 degrees depending on the seeds. I would try to control the fan speed to achieve a desired result before adjusting the angle as it is the easiest thing to adjust.
@@michaellee7500 Yes, I would like to know the measurements now as well. I am making one today, and need the ball park that works.....since he never responded....perhaps I will just guess.
Excellent video. No 3D printing or CNC, just good ol fashioned prototyping skills. Thanks
Absolute Amazing!! 🤯Thank you for sharing your creativity!

Excellent!! I have a few hair driers. Good to hear they work too. I need to make one for separating amaranth
This is awesome! My 9 year old son loves engineering! This will be a great project for him to build!!! Thank u!

Thanks! How's it working with your mods?
Hi, would you please share the design you wrote up using wood?

Super cool, thanks 🙏
❤Brilliant😂
You utter genius!
You're awesome! Thanks for this!!
In the 1970s we had a simpler solution... A double album cover and a pack of ZIGZAGS.... worked just fine all through my teens
😂😭😂😭😂😭😂🌱🌱🌱
Brilliant, thanks!
Very useful...👌 ❤️ From Tamilnadu
Nice toy! I am using ASM grain separator here in Canada! 10 t/hr.
Will a usb mini desk fan also work?
Thanks a lot! Works with oat seeds so far :)
Nice compact design. Have you tried this with tiny seeds like lettuce or basil?
For those it might be a lot easier to use a fine mesh strainer
Does it work wit tiny seeds like poppies?
I tried with amaranth but no luck. May work for heavier seeds. I think amaranth seeds are just too light. Too close to the weight of the chaff
I am also looking for an amaranth solution. Any luck?
@@andreafeelsfantastic I ended up separating my hand using different colanders
Get a speed controller to adjust the fan speed😊
Would this work for wheat grains as well?
Brilliant
Brilliant!
Neat👍👍👍👌👌👌

You can check my home page.
Problem is if the seeds are as light as the leaves..what then is the solution?
You change the angle of the ramp. The lighter the seed, the steeper the angle should be. Also, if it is that light, does it float? Does the chaff?
Also you could then use a fine mesh strainer
love it.
Very clever, i need one.
very easy to make :)
In theory it will work great...tiny seeds not so much
How can. U bye one of them
Would you mind posting what fan you used, or at least the power?
It looks CPU fan
i used a hairdryerXD
My problem.is flower seeds.are.so tiny...
how do you break the seeds? what do you use?
Hammer..😒
❤️❤️❤️
Volume is very low
Watch my video
I would love to try this for Lavender cleaning.
Various ways just know the weight
What are the measurements on this beauty?
I will be making a version 2.0 of this beauty pretty soon! With all the measurements.
@@DaisyCreekFarms I'm working on building one today. Could you tell me the measurements on this one so I can try to make one?
