The acting on Bloodline is just beyond incredible, it's on another level. Not much happens on the show - so much of what drives the story is happening internally in the characters as their relationships and feelings start to shift. Kyle and especially Ben were simply mesmerizing.

Agree, but with the exception of Spacek. She was a flat, one dimensional character and it showed.
The 3rd brother was taken from Broadway. Not really known at all for film tv and he was great as well.
Ben Mendelsohn's Danny Rayburn is one of the finest portrayals to ever grace a television series. And the amazing thing is, the entire series is well acted. The whole production is a tidy package. The problem was, the show ran its course in a single season. The unorthodox method of formatting the narrative was a bit of a novelty and the more traditional approach to seasons 2 and 3 weren't as enticing. Still, a great show.

Everyone seems to be talking about Ben being a great actor, but Kyle is a very great and underrated actor. The guy is just naturally good at acting. I put him up there with Clooney, De Niro, etc... The entire cast and writers are AMAZING!
Just started watching the show. I absolutely agree. I've seen him on my screen, many times but it's through this show that made recognize how talent he is. Effortless really. Casting was perfect

i dont know how people find this show boring, its really good. like yeah its slow, but its so amazing.

Ben's performance as Danny is the single greatest I have ever seen in my life. That is his natural accent is so different than Danny's voice makes his performance all that more astonishing. Acting doesn't get any better.
Incredible acting and casting in this show. The kid that plays Nolan? Looks so much like Ben it's scary! And the kid can act! Whoever did the casting needs an award.

I really hope they both win an Emmy. Bloodline does NOT get the attention it deserves. It's incredibly intense and emotional and beautiful. I think they both deserve so much recognition for their roles in this amazing show.

Sometimes casting, writing, direction, production and all the rest come together in a way that makes you realize that something very powerful and near to perfection has happened… Bloodline is that powerful perfection. Absolutely superb series.
Love how Kyle is so humble at showing how passionate he is about his role and the dynamics of this amazing series. Good to know he's "normal" and loves what he does and isn't in any way pretentious

Ben reminds me of Daniel Day Lewis; a highly versatile and serious method actor who plays his roles brilliantly, but in person seems quite shy and likes to deflect attention away from himself. I think I first saw him in 'Starred Up' and liked everything he's been in since then.

I just binge watched this show. Although it was slow, the acting is what kept me watching it. I loved it, even though at times it was really dark. Kyle Chandler is so easy to watch, such a great actor and so gorgeous, not to mention very cheeky in this interview! Ben was amazing as Danny ❤

No kidding! It blew me away when I found out he was Australian because you absolutely cannot hear a hint of it in Danny. So glad he won and Emmy last night!!!
He is one of Australia's underrated actors,he's up there with Hugh Jackman,Sam Neill,russel Crowe,brian brown,Sam worthington and many more,he's a "top bloke" as we say in australia meaning good man

Bloodline is for sure my new favorite series. All the characters do superb acting. These 2 as brothers with life-long serious issues to work on. Mendelsohn is the catalyst who plays his family like puppets.

the season 3 ending ruined it for me...they crammed 3 seasons in 1 ....writing was lazy as well..to build up ozzy's story, and all of a sudden craziness with the cubans, holes in the gilbert/sally story, the detective showing up at the trial but not expanding on that...and them finding kevin cause bell didnt turn off her gps...when it was actually kevin calling (still not letting him take responsibility) i was so hype when i first startrd watching and then majorly let down at the end!!
the one thumbs down: explain yourself or pack sand. This is an excellent interview. The weak questions do not matter when the answers are so genuine and generous.
The BEST drama anyone could ask for. Top actors, strong writing, great Florida Noir.
Kyle is so excited talking about that coconut tree while Ben is just trying to stay polite and diplomatic. They are just too cute, both of them!

@@jessicahelton4882 I agree, season 3 was not very good, but the writers were counting on 4 or 5 seasons. When Sony cut funding earlier than planned, they had to rush together an “ending” that left itself open in case another company picked up the series for the final 2 seasons.

Season 2 premiered on Netflix yesterday and I watched season 2 marathon style over night. I'm completely hooked and I really hope that season 3 can go ahead. Being an Aussie I have seen Ben Mendelsohn's career grow since I first saw him in the 80's and he is just amazing in this series.

I got to be ON Set as an extra for 5 days & i LOVE LOVE LOVED the experience! I adored my co-workers, famous & infamous! Kyle is exactly as he seems here. Light hearted, goofy, sweet charming and drop dead gorgeous. Ben is over the top yummy too. Sissy is sweet & real. One day (courtroom scenes) we were taping, it was WOMENS MARCH in DC. I was showing her photos of the signs I made for my friends and she was showing me pictures of her daughter and granddaughter who were at the march. Before lunch break she stood up and said if we all weren’t working she would be there at the march supporting her sisterhood💪🏽💪🏿💪🏻

Most underrated show of all time. Shame it had to end as soon as it did.
When I look at the acting in the show, I can't believe these actors are not working more. The four actors who portrayed the Rayburn kids were all incredible in their own right. I just finished watching the series for a third time and when you notice all the nuances in the acting, the pauses, the reactions, they are all so real. In between episodes, Eyes Wide Shut came to Netflix, so i decided to watch it, and I couldn't believe how laughable Tom Cruise's acting was compared to these actors, but he's the one making the big bucks. His acting was just atrocious in most scenes! This is why I watch TV series like Bloodling, Six Feet Under, Colony, The Man in The White Castle, etc etc...The acting is of such high quality there is no way, one can be indifferent to it...

I'm simply blown away with this TV show. All of the actors are perfect in their roles. Ben and Kyle could not have been better. Ben Mendelson's acting is superb. His facial expressions, especially moved me. Those eyes tricked us, sometimes so sad, so angry and finally so psychotic. The series was a made beautifully with fantastic flow and its believable! Thank you!

Bloodline one of the best TV series I've seen in a long time. Up there with Breaking Bad. Kyle & Ben are simply awesome in their roles. Definitely Emmy winning candidates. An excellent story line just don't want it to end. Thank you for entertaining us so well.

I just watched season 1 ep 13. The closing scene was so intense, I had to see the two actors outside of the roles happy together to let it go! Wow , you are both very talented! I will have to take a break before starting season 2, I feel like I’m there experiencing the situation!With something this good, watching is emotionally exhausting for me. Well done everyone!

As a Aussie myself I grew up with Ben on tv and Australian films so it's like he's family in a weird way, I'm so happy he's made it big at a older age which shows it's his raw talent that made him make it in Hollywood. Thanks Benny for all the great memories.
So many great acting performances in this series but Kyle and Ben are easily the best part of the show...They're the main 2 characters and you see why immediately.
This show is awesome and addictive. The cast is great and Ben is Brilliant!!
All the actors are great in this show. One small detail I found funny was young Danny who was the same person playing his son. The only difference was he talked with a subtle lisp and made his lips poke out like his dad.
Don't know why they killed Ben Mendelsohn's character when he was carrying the entire show

Just rewatched this my fourth time. Ben Mendelssohn is mind blowing in every single scene. I grew up in Miami & Islamorada, so it’s like taking a trip home. Yep, sea lice are no joke 😂
I just finished Bloodline for the second time. Watched it when it first came out and again just now. It’s funny he talks about that famous bent palm tree. I’m a South FLorida native. Drove down to the Keys again few years ago to visit this place where they filmed. Got photos of the bent palm and infamous pier with the American flag but you can’t get close to the main house unless you’re a guest. You never see the bungalows in the show, but there are many and it’s a beautiful spot. If you’ve got the funds, you can stay in one. Fantastic show! Incredible actors. 👍🏻👍🏻 Islamorada 🌞🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
Love that comment that Kyle said about family history not being totally clean and stuff like this may have happened to your own family. It really makes you think of skeletons maybe in the closet of the people the surround you.

Season 3 had an awful end...the writing got lazy
I didnt think the ending was that bad. I think folks were just disappointed it ended. they killed Danny, john and his wife divorced. Kevin was almost as tragic a character as Danny, possibly moreso in some regard. anyway, he got busted. what more needs to be shown? what other outcome? they all feared Danny. Danny was no longer afraid, he been there done that. he had nothing to lose or to gain. Danny saved them all really. saved them with the truth about who they were. Happens all over, someone was able to put it in a series. dynamics surrounding family scapegoats to a tee imo

Ben Mendelsohn is mind blowing..he has a huge charisma and presence. He clearly stole the show. I mean if someone deserves to be seen and known as a great actor in our era , it should be him. He is just majestic in this show.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this show! As a Floridian... Kyle and Ben - you were probably attacked by No-see-ums while filming in the swamp. Floridians refer to "sea lice" as the rude jet skiers that rock the boat ramp when you are trying to launch the boat. Too funny.
Here it kinda looks like Ben is the good one and Kyle is the bad guy hahaha
