That qawali is an addiction for me right now. It's 5 o clock in the morning here in the Netherlands but m listening it again and again and again. You have got a blessed voice. Moula Ali salamat rakhay. 🙏
Abi - I grew up in rural Arizona, the furthest place away from NFAK, geographically and culturally. I was introduced to his music in the early 90s when attending the University and was hooked. A few years later, my eldest daughter was born. We had difficulty getting her to sleep so I would put on NFAK and dance with her. Man Kunto Maula was one of our favorites. It was one of the only ways to get her to sleep. She is now 23. We watched this captivating and beautiful interpretation that you and your group have created and we both were moved to tears. Me remembering back to when she was so little. Her because it struck such a deep chord in her heart. We can't say thank you enough for this wonderful, inspirational piece work of art. I can watch it over and over again. Everything about it truly shines. All the best.

Was gifted tickets to see Orchestral Qawwali at Celtic Connections in Glasgow, January 2023. What can I say. It was an exquisite experience at times leaving me breathless and tearful. Like the majority of the audience not a clue what the songs (hymns if you like) were about but, that didn't seem to matter. The performance of the "Orchestra", in particular Abi Sampa's singing touched all of our hearts. Oh did I mention the five minute standing ovation?

It is astounding that she as a Tamil speaker had that level of command on the lyrics of man kunto maula. I knew there was a slight twang in the way she said maula as it’s pronounced as au as in maula isn’t found in English so I knew she was British but no idea she only spoke English and Tamil that’s amazing. If you want any advice from a native North Indian Urdu/ Hindi speaker living in the UK get in touch !

Abi Sampa , I have been listening and watching your different ways of playing and presenting vocal and instrumental music, believe it all are bewitching and impressive, ( Mun Kunto maula ) on the top( rung also) . Though I am 85 years old and at this stage one should leave all these things as per my religion. Yet you have certain qualities where one wants to know something about you, which school or (gharana) you belong and that where are you coming from (state or city). You are not bound to reply my queries yet it will be kind of you if you tell some details about you .Thank you .

Abi really sorry but I don't think you do any justice to qawali. You don't have the voice for it. Stick to Bollywood songs. Do not. Mix western with qawali,. Just don't go together.
