Let me start with I love their music, especially that first album and Burgers. However, one of the worst concerts I ever saw was Hot Tuna in New York City in the late 1970s. They were over an hour late. They got on stage and started insulting New York and New Yorkers, then turned up their sound so loud my buddy and I beat a retreat to the back. They clearly disrespected their fans and that is a sell out.

Yup, just like almost everyone else commenting here, I've been following (and worshiping) Jorma and Jack since Jefferson Airplane and the Fillmore East, seen 'em live many times, and they were more influential to my (non-classical) musical life than anyone else, and watching them (and Bob Dylan) continue to be who they have been, both retaining and evolving, is intensely inspiring. And the occupied my Saturday nights during the first year of the pandemic! What terrific musicians, and terrific artists, who now devote much of their lives to teaching others what they have come to know. Keep on truckin' forever, guys!

Yeah, same here. Despite the plentiful contrary evidence in the mirror, most of us are still forever 19 in our mind's eye. For decades I kept waiting and hoping that my favorite band from the 70s--Gentle Giant--would reunite and start putting out new albums again. Until the late and very great Ray Shulman, the bassist/violinist/trumpeter/composer of the band gave an interview where he said that the 10 years they had together were enough and that there was just no way that he could or even wanted to live the way he did in his 20s when he was barely getting around in his 70s.

Years ago I heard an interview with Grace Slick wherein she recounted how becoming world famous overnight caught them by complete surprise because, in her words, "We really weren't very good musicians." After a short pause she added, "Except for Jorma and Jack -- they were real musicians." This proves how right she was.
