You are the first video to clearly explain the difference! Thank you
This means a lot - thank you!
@@TheSheApproach Seriously the best video explaining the difference, thank you!
I have a question to ask you @@TheSheApproach
I 1000000% agree
Wow I love the way you talk and approach the subject of the video
Yes, agreed!
I just joined the Influencer Program and I had so many questions. You answered a lot of them so thank you for this
I just joined too. Any tips?
So glad to hear that!
U joined right?! My account isn't verifying I have 700+ followers! Can u tell me why?👀
Can I ask how many followers do you have when you got approved?
I've watched so many videos covering these topics, you've done such a brilliant job at breaking it all down and not making it seem complicated or difficult to understand for beginners. Great work and thank you for all the great tips! 👏🏻
Thank you so much - this means a lot!
Thank you for this video. It was so helpful, way more helpful than the actual amazon site in explaining both programs and the differences.
So glad to hear!
Thank you for being so clear and concise. You answered all my questions 😊
LOVE the video! I currently have amazon associates but my products are so cluttered now on my milkshake..so now i'm going to apply for INFLUENCERS and it will be so much easier! thank you!!!
Thanks for your time! This is the first video that I found that explains exactly the difference between both accounts.
I like the amazon affiliate for me better, this video was helpful, thank you Ana. i got the answer of what i was looking for
So glad to hear!
This VIDEO ACTUALLY HELPED THANKS! It took 10 videos before I found something that actually answered my question lol
So glad to hear!
Fantastic video - this is a game changer for me! Thank you for putting this together!
So glad to hear - thank you for your lovely comment!
Thank you for an excellent overview, I think I will just try the affiliate program to start, might try the influencer program later. Thanks for your help.😍👍
I love you so much for this information ❤️. Thanks a lot
I am going to be doing the affiliate. I think right now that will work out the best for me 😊
Thank you I just started organizing my influencer storefront. I didn't know there was a difference, now I know Thank yoiu so much I am new to this and not really sure what I am doing. So I started doing research
So glad this helped!
Thank you for this video, Ana! I think for now, I will stick to the associates option.
Excellent job explaining the difference.
I just joined Affiliate but should be able to qualify for Influencer , too. I like the idea of having a store front
That could be the best of both worlds!
I really like this video. You gave the advantages and disadvantages plus the commitment required for each program. I am an Amazon Affiliate but wanted to sign up to be an influencer but didn't know what it involved. THANKS
Have both but just starting
Thabk you for making this information and simple.
Ana thank you for your video. Need to know the basic, beginning steps for Amazon Affiliates. Thank you ma'am!
Glad it was helpful!
Great info!!!
Hi Ana, great upload much appreciated. I am 100% certain I need to set up as an affiliate the only thing I'm a little unclear about is setting up a selection of products in a very attractive way and making it easy to navigate. You mentioned Lasso affiliate plugin is this the way to resolve this point for me? Great video Tim
I just signed up for the influencer. But now it looks like I should do both…. Thanks for this video.
Thank you for the advice and explanations.
Can we join the affiliate program without putting in any websites?
If you don't have a website, you need to put in at least one social media platform.
thank you for all the helpful information!
Thank you for the helpful tips!
Thank you for watching!!
Question!
Which one do you get commission on when you do reviews for products?
The influencer program, you can get approved for on-site review commissions - as get paid if someone makes a purchase right after watching your review.
Newbie here, thanks for the info!
This was so helpful thank you!
super helpful! thanks
Love it! Thanks! I am joining the 14 day challenge!
Yey - would love to see you in there!
I just found you and really appreciate the detail! Thank you Anna!
Thank you so much!
just got appoved for both!! glad this video helped give me new insight!
That's amazing! Congratz!
How do taxes work as a UK citizen when it comes to amazon USA, Canada, Australia, etc? Do you have to pay each countries tax. Or do you just pay the UK? Or do you get double taxation.
I was approved for the associate program with social media links, not a website.
It happens! But it needs to be an established social media presence. They are more likely to approve you with a brand new blog, then with a brand new social media account.
Super helpful information!
so quick question, in terms of being an affiliate and not an influencer, and the new image issue with Amazon products, are you saying that affiliates can use the sidestrip link for products and the image that appears using Lasso?
You are absolutely hysterical! I couldn't stop laughing!!😂 One day, Danette, Anthony, you and I will meet up!
I went to the FB group and waiting to get approved :D
Approving people now!
Hey
I want to know what is the difference between Amazon associates and Amazon seller
An Amazon associate is an affiliate - you lead people to buy off Amazon, but none of the products are yours. An Amazon seller is someone who has a Seller account and owns the listing, carries the stock etc.
okay you just answered my question🤣
I wonder does she respond? & is it better to set up things on a iPhone or a laptop?
ima Amazon influencer but idk where to start exactly
Whatever works best for you! For influencers, most of the content you film and add for onsite commissions is vertical anyways, but you can edit on a laptop if you find it easier, then transfer your videos.
For managing blogs and websites, I find it much easier on a laptop.
I just applied for both and got approved for both, is that possible? I think I confused myself by doing both at the same time 😅
Yes , you can be both at the same time!
very helpful video!! Thank you so much!
Thonks for advice
This is good info. to have and how I have been creating content for the past 8 months- not sure I would recommend it though based on commission rates...will post my annual earnings when that time comes but has been $100-300 a month with 350+ reviews.
Thanks for sharing! So interesting! What kind of products do you recommend/review?
thank you for helpful information
THANK YOU!
I thought amazon keeps a cache so if you send someone to the site and they buy something else or go to uk you still get commission
They do - but the cookies only last 24 hours after someone clicks on your affiliate link, and it doesn’t transfer between the different Amazon Marketplaces.
Aka if they get sent to the UK website but cannot purchase there, and go in by themselves to the US Amazon, the cookie won’t transfer.
can I have the both of them HAVE IT THANKS, YOU ARE AMAZING
Yes!
Should you use your personal Amazon account or create a different account?
Yes, just use that. They will be seen as different platforms so it won't affect your regular shopping or the other way around.
very informative.. thank you for this
thank you so much.
Great insight. Thanks
Amazing way of talking
This may be silly but I was approved as an influencer but do not know if I was accepted as an affiliate. Where would I find out about an affilitate account.
Once you create an affiliate account, you are in! Approval comes after you make your first 3 sales, but you can access your account as soon as you create it.
Fantastic explanations
So didn’t Amazon just change this rule and now you can add an affiliate link to an email?
They did in theory but still unclear how they will verify it. They only want you to share links with people who have opted in and specifically asked for it, so they might still disallow purchases they can't verify. I am waiting on reporting on it until I hear it works for people!
really...I just had a landing page and a website address hooked up, to get in to associates/affilaite...what she says is true, thats what they want. im just saying that you can still get in without a blog.now this was about a years ago alittle less, happy life✌️ also you have to tell them your already a affilaite for other places im pretty sure,
You don't need to disclose if you are an affiliate for other programs. There's no exclusivity required.
But you can get approved with a social media account now as well, as long as you have good content/engagement and around 500 followers according to their requirements.
Should I copy the link from my amazon store or affiliate store when I post a video on UA-cam from Site Stripe that is?
Thank you for taken the time to explaining the difference 😊. To be honest I still have a couple of questions. I was approved for the Associates Program but now my biggest problem is creating a website. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations on how to create a website for the Associates Program 😊.
Just posted a video on this! Best way is to create a self-hosted Wordpress blog. You can get a free theme and design it for free with Elementor, and add your affiliate links in relevant posts and pages there.
Here's the video on how to get started with creating a website: ua-cam.com/video/BKgOwAawOQc/v-deo.html
How did you get approved without a website? When I applied it keep asking for website, how do you bypass that please help
I would like to know this as well?
Thank you for all this info. I have both affiliate and influencer profile. My question is- how do i know which one im getting credit on? Are they linked? I get emails for the influencer program with different incentives. When i post reviews and videos, it looks like it shows on both pages? I guess im just confused and want to make sure im posting correctly to get monetized becase some things pay more on affiliates and some on influencers. When i click on reports, it only shows my stuff on one store ID although both show up. Thanks!
I believe they are linked - so you will be able to access them both from the same account, but they will have their own dashboards.
Great video! Question as an Amazon Affiliate: Are you able to have a storefront? Or do I use multiple links?
You don't get to create a storefront as an affiliate, but you can replicate it on your website/blog if you want something that looks similar.
Which one pays more?
They both pay the same in terms of commission percentages. But the affiliate program tracks some sales a little better.
Thank You
Very well explained 👏but I have one question Can I put Amazon affiliate links on my UA-cam videos or any other social media platforms? Or is this important that I only put Amazon affiliate links on my website rather than any social media platforms?
Yeah, I need to know that too!!
You can totally promote them outside of a website! UA-cam descriptions and comments is allowed - just make sure the videos are public. (No private or unlisted videos)
What is the criteria to making it in the program
They don't make that information public, so I think they judge it case by case, but you need at least one social media profile with recent activity, good engagement and a fair few followers.
Can we add associates products in influence store?? Can we earn double commission for same sale??
You are already earning affiliate commission from the influencer store products. You can't combine the two, or add any other external links to your influencer store.
Thank you soo much, Is there a reason that we cannot do both?
You can do both!
Thank you but I thought you had to make 3 sales too within 180 days for the influencer?
Influencers don't have a sales quota. They manually review your application BEFORE they approve you, and that's more based on your social following and engagement. Once you're in there is no minimum sales you need, but if your account is inactive and you aren't driving any clicks for a long period of time, they might suspend it due to inactivity.
@@TheSheApproach Thank you!
I got both but didn't know. Lol. When i sign up for US amazon associate, I got email about. And so I forgot about it. For the influencer program in Canada, I sign up with linking my tiktok account and got approved fast. I created my store front and put the link into my 3 platforms. For both Amazon , how come I'm given 2 different ID account between the two? My storefront has strip hop links in it.
It's two different accounts on two different Amazon platforms, so you will have 2 ids.
@@TheSheApproach They said amazon associate for 1 ID and amazon influencer for the other ID. So yes I have both.
Can we use those Amazon videos on social media like Facebook, UA-cam?? Is there any copyright issue? Please guide
You can't share any of those videos on your own channel unless you get permission from the individual sellers. It's easier to create your own product videos or use stock videos.
OK so I am an Influencer, does that automatically make me an affiliate? Seems like it does I have access to the links just like an affiliate does but no one can answer this question for me.
No, the process to sign up as an affiliate is different. You are an influencer with a store link (you still get referral commissions for sales, but it's just in a different programme).
So valuable! 😊
When signing up for affiliate program, can my Etsy shop be listed as my website?!
No, I don't believe that's accepted as the primary one.
Great vid!
Can I join the Amazon influencer program with the mental health niche.
It's something I am passionate about and have social media accounts on but it's 100 percent faceless?
At 11:00 min on the subject of geo-tracking: I joined both programs and I linked my influencer/storefront link to my one-link. Can't I use one-link for both Instagram and my blog?
The one link feature isn't available for the influencer program - only for the affiliate program. You can sign up and create multiple stores for the different countries (US, UK etc) and add them both on your blog / Instagram treelinks and so forth.
The geo-tracking will only work for links you generate using the affiliate site-stripe. And yes - you can still share these on your blog/socials. But they usually lead to just one Amazon product, not your previously created storefront.
Is there a way to change from an associate to an influencer?
Yes - you can apply for both and still use both (or just stop using the associate if you want to put all your eggs in the influencer basket).
👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
I know it is a little off the topic, but what is the rule when it comes to posting links to your products on Pinterest? I am Ammazo Affiliate. I learned initially that I need to send people to my blog, and from there to Amazon for the possible purchase to count toward my commission. But I see people linking directly from Pinterest to the Amazon store. Does this mean they are Influencers?
Affiliates can share links on Pinterest, as it's technically allowed. But Pinterest doesn't push those kind of pins a lot, so you are better off creating pins to a claimed website's landing pages.
Thanks for this detailed discussion. I am currently an Amazon Affiliate (for about a year now). I have a UA-cam channel. I get about 500 views a day across my 200+ videos. I also have an Instagram account and make posts maybe every two weeks with images from my videos. I've gotten to the point where I have over 60 affiliate links across 6 categories which I promote in the description of my videos. I'm almost hitting the limit of characters for a UA-cam description.
I do have a few questions:
1) Is there some better way to organize my many affiliate links so that they don't consume so much of my UA-cam descriptions?
2) I think that I will get a commission for any product on Amazon someone buys after using my affiliate link, even a product for which I'm not an affiliate. This is not true for my Influencer store. So Affiliate links may be more profitable than an influencer store.
3) You said you are both an Affiliate Associate and an Influencer. I'm wondering if I should join the Influencer program also, I could affiliate links in my descriptions for specific products I think would be appropriate for each video; along with my Influencer Store link for more general shopping. My concern would be that I don't get sufficient action on my store to be kept in the program.
Thanks
60 affiliate links in each video description seems overwhelming and is probably not very effective.
I would stick to max 5 links per category and try to keep them as relevant as possible to each video.
A better way to display and organize your links if you have multiple products to share is to create detailed blog posts on your own blogging platform instead.
And perhaphs a "shop my favourites" page - that I showcase in my most recent video - to create your own shop.
I'd stick to the Amazon affiliates instead of trying to do both that and the influencer program, as that would just be an extra hassle and it will split your earnings.
How do you disclose on Tiktok?
Just write "Ad" or "Affiliate link" in the caption or next to the links.
@@TheSheApproach thank you!
Hi...where is the link to join your FB group?
facebook.com/groups/smartblogging/
Can you explain why someone would get denied.
Low engagement usually. Try to get that up on your latests posts and reapply.
Hey I think you’ve not researched well we can actually use one link tool on amazon influencer and share individual links to the products as well, let me know if I’m wrong!!
Unless it's a new feature, I haven't seen that in the influencer hub unless someone is both an affiliate and an influencer.
If I have a storefront is it safe to say I have Amazon Influencer?
Yup! (Although you can be both.)
Thank you foe explaining the difference. I was wondering for the amazon associates program can you have a personal FB account only?
Not sure if that's on their approved list - it might work but all posts need to be public outside of your friends list too.
what is a good website builder you can recommend that has no high monthly fee and that would provide a personal domain URL
Self-hosted Wordpress blog - you only pay for hosting ( I recommend www.thesheapproach.com/bluehost). Then install the Elementor plugin (free).
While waiting on approval for my influencer account (which i now have) I signed up as an associate. I would like to not have the associate account anymore because I have my influencer status and storefront. How do i delete the Associate portion of my account?
You can close your account from the profile settings - affiliate-program.amazon.co.uk/help/node/topic/GQNN9CDY7HH3CQHG.
Although it will just be closed due to inactivity if you don't generate any sales in the first 180 days.
am in Rwanda And i have created the account on amazon but it is impossible to proceed because Rwanda is not on yr list help me i need to be part of affiliated marketing
Have you tried contacting support?
If I get approved for the influencer program am I automatically in the affiliate program or do I have to apply somewhere for that? I have to apply how do I do it?
Yeah- you’re automatically in the affiliate program
Who pays influencers for the commision? Is it the brand or amazon?
Amazon!
Yey - so glad to hear!
Hello… I myself am a new Amazon affiliate, most certainly learning as I go the difference between an affiliate and influencer. I am curious what has worked best for people in the beginning as far as how to share the products sense with being an affiliate you do not get a storefront. Do you or anyone on here have suggestions on website information? Did you do it yourself or pay someone to do for you? I’m really trying to figure out how to monetize on sharing products that I love that I already share for free. Any help would be appreciated. thank y’all so much.
The people who were successful built an online audience - either leading them to their blogs or socials where they share content. You have to provide value beyond just selling to them.
I've seen people do it with blogs - that are easier than ever to build - thesheapproach.com/how-to-start-blog/ - or just with social media and the influencer program.
It all depends on your strategy!
I want to ask for commission rates, On-Site Amazon Influencer Commission Rates and Amazon Affiliate Commission Rates, it is totally diffirent?
From what I know it's very similar. They might be several categories (fashion for example) that get higher commission as an influencer, but sometimes the affiliate program has promo months where they temporarily raise commissions as well.
As an i fluencer i am able to share links to individual products, to my main store and also to idea lists on my storefront. Did you know this? In the video you said we cant do that
I've not seen influencers be able to share the link to individual products - just their store and different categories in the store. Can you share how you do that?
@TheSheApproach sure, i go to any product on the amazon app and hit the share and im able to share that individual item with my code. All my codes show up that allow mr to share with either my influencer or associate code. I am able to share idea lists by code as well and my storefront by code. I have spoken with amazon with questions in the past and they have confirmed i am allowed to do this.
Is it possible to do both? We have both a instagram and tiktok, where we link directly to affilliate products. We also have the influencer program, but just in our bio.
Is this the right way to do it? We are linking directly to products from instagram story
