One of the most interesting things, if there is a second hill but counter to the first hill, the ball will keep curving into the hill for some time as it decelerates, then go straight before it turns back over. A LOT of them misread that.

It's the order in which they registered at the start of the week I think, but last years champion will always get number 1. After that, you just get the number in which you register. So for example Tiger had number 33 cause be was the 33rd person to register.

He missed the cut. Meanwhile, in that VERY SAME U.S. OPEN, there was a man who qualified for the tournament the hard way. And it was especially harder because the last round of his qualifier took place just a DAY after HIS father died. And he played well enough to qualify, and then finished in the top 20.
but I guess THAT guy didn't love his father. Nor does literally every person in the world who returns to work after a parent dies in less than 4 months. (which is everybody)

At 1:26:40, there's that worm (or twig?) hanging from (a silk thread?) again! AND you can see it banging into the bottom half of the flag stick just a few moments later! It had been there all the time (see the earlier players' putts) and must have been in their lines of sight, but they never seem to notice. Freaky!

tigers front nine cost him, and 14, at least par that and would have given himself a chance

I remember seeing this live. I was dating a girl that looked just like Amy and she had broken up with me that weekend. I watched this at my dads house and when Amy came out I cried my eyes out.

I was sitting in front of my TV screaming "Amy, you better be there for this." So glad she was well enough to make that trip because that embrace behind 18 is one of the great moments in Masters history, along with Tiger and dad, Tiger and Charlie and Jack and Jack.

@Christian... not really, he had a hot final round, it happens to many people... I haven't heard Kim's name for years... the truly gifted golfers like Woods, Nickolas, Palmer and give it back Phil, you'll hear their names forever and see clips of their fantastic shots forever as well... there's plenty of great talent out there today, Thomas, Speith, Rahm, Garcia, Johnson... but I don't see Kim anywhere... what happened to him if he's so great?

@1:06:24 You could not stand 2 feet away from the line of Phil's putt and throw that bud on the green and hit that spot in 50 tries. I'm glad such bad luck didn't derail his round. I was flabbergasted when I saw it happen live, and even more when they showed how the putt got knocked off line!

I don't know what it is that haunts Lee Westwood in Majors..? One of the best ball strikers in golf. But it abandons him when he gets in contention in Majors. I still hold out hope that he will win 1 someday! And I forgot how big Anthony Kim got for a period of time. Wonder what he's up to these days..? He was destined to be the next big thing. Unfortunate for KJ Choi. I always cheer/ed for him. Such a stoic competitor. And man, I forgot how badly Phil the thrill hit his driver this round. Amazing how well he scored considering that! 1 of the best shot makers in the history of golf. Love watching back these old Masters tournaments!
