Pro tip from being out in the cold alot, having to write: a pen can be so cold it doesn’t work. A pencil is always a must-have for me in cold situation. Just my two cents :)
A couple other items I keep in all my pouches and bags that I find extremely useful... are a couple good quality hair ties and a small bic lighter..... the hair ties are useful for hair yes lol but I use them if I need to temporarily tie something to something else or you can temporarily strap your flashlight to your wrist or other odd thing... plus a million other uses...

Nice! It is a very deep rabbit hole so be careful. Like any other tools, "Buy once. Cry once." is the true path to not spending as much as you might on the cheap stuff that will fail you. I'm sure you know this from cameras too.
I have an O-light Perun, which can be used as a head torch (ok the mount won't fit in the small case) but the torch itself would. Super bright for it's size. However, as it uses a rechargeable battery it is probably less ideal than something that runs off standard batteries.
Smart packing Becki! I travel with a small plane that has a pretty skimpy useful load like your helicopter so it's always cool to see compact travel/carry setups like this. Lots of great ideas here. Have a great day you two!
I see a slight problem with the torch... the way the clip is positioned means that if you clip it to you hat it will be pointing toward your face. 🤦 and not outwards.
Out of curiosity, have you been evaluated for Celiac? My daughter had the same problems and since she was diagnosed, she rarely has migraines or GI issues (unless she gets accidentally glutened!). Thanks for sharing and your transparency 😂
@@BeckiandChris I highly recommend starting with the blood work and seeing if it warrants the biopsy. I can’t tell you how life changing that has been for my daughter. And we were trying to treat the headaches, the stomach issues, and her behavior all separately. It was a casual comment from a friend who sent us to a pediatric GI and she’s gotten 80% of her life back - went from non stop constipation and migraines 5/7 days to being regular, a migraine maybe once every 2-4 weeks, and she is WAY less irritable and more in control of her emotions!
Curious what you think of the Bit Bar vs the Peter McKinnon camera tool? I’m going to be in the market for a tool like this in the next few months and I’m guessing Pete will have his back in stock by then.
I missed out on Pete’s camera tool but if it comes back in stock I might have to pick it up for comparison! I have a camera multi tool in my main bag and it’s very different than the bit bar II, not much crossover there.

Tip for makeshift headlamp: Another UA-camr "Zac in the Wild" mentioned using a hair band to attach a small flashlight to eyeglasses.
Was just going to suggest this with her being a glasses wearer. Very simple little solution that takes up next to no space.

I found a bendy head lamp that might be worth a look-see. It packs up small and is really bright! The NightBuddy 230° is the style I’m talking about!
