I always appreciate your teaching materials, from the in-depth courses to which I've recently subscribed to the quick tips format you often employ on UA-cam. You're a skilled, effective trainer and a valued resource. I subscribed mostly as a way to support your efforts and express my appreciation, but I've definitely found added value in your more detailed courses as well. Keep up the good work.
p.s. FYI you can also strip rows. under properties - Apperance TAB - Graphics - Strip Rows. this can be useful to make a (bigger) schedule visible more readable for a user. 🖐
Love the videos. Very informative. I’m curious though. Is there a way to remove one’s ability to use drafting lines? There are several ppl I’ve come across who use them entirely too much. I’d like to remove that ability and force them to create new ways of doing things. Ideally one should rely on detail components or the actual model itself to represent elevations or plans…not line-work performed in AutoCAD, but you’d be surprised how many ppl do things like drawing as if in CAD while using Revit which should do all of that work for you.
Is it possible to create schedules from an imported IFC file? Let’s say I received an IFC file that contains ducts and I would like to know the schedules of all the ductwork that contains in the IFC file. Is this possible?
Please tell me how to add a formula to calculate the area of balconies? For example, I have a table like yours, all areas of the rooms are calculated in full, but the area of the balcony must be calculated with a coefficient of 0.75, and this area should not be a separate column, but be in the general column of area, that is, the table should look the same as yours, only in the field of area of the balcony, there should be a formula that calculates the area with a coefficient of 0.75.
It would be good if Autodesk make something to allow the schedule to batch select cells, sometimes you need a value in many elements and doesn't let you select many cells, of course you can select them in 3D but it would be more efficient if they make schedules in Revit more friendly to Excel functions and incorporate some of Excel things, as atm it's not excel, even though some people might think it is.
THNX. the Filter fuction should be updated by Autodesk to not only a AND, but to a AND OR Filter function. verry annoying and insufficient. bad from Revit / Autodesk. and while iám at it, why cant you (still not!) resize a colum automatically ? upgrade Autodesk! what do you think B.A. or anyone fot that matter? all best 😀
The “Pain” is real in Revit and architecture hahaha. Love your videos, so helpful
