I think you'll note that everyone of my videos says "Paid Promotion" at the start of it - this is how I earn a living, I'm quite clear about it. If I'm a sellout like anyone that produces a TV programme on commercial television then guilty as charged! The good news for you is that viewing is not compulsory! ....and frankly I'd rather not have you.
TMF's not conning anyone. I don't like paid promotions either tbh but he couldn't be more open & up front about it. He'd also be the first to say if it was rubbish &/or broke. You don't have to watch or buy the item so what's your problem?
So what if it is a paid promotion, he isn’t forcing you to buy it, do your own research and then make your own choice, rather than being a knob and making comments like that.
I have to say I wasn't convinced when I first saw yours then I heard how much, for the money you really can't complain, so far mine has been solid as a rock and (including the mount) costs less than a Quadlock!
I bought an unbranded one from eBay two months ago. I agree Andy, it’s a no brainer and massively cheaper than a dedicated sat nav. I paid just £60 for mine.
Morning Andy, as far as I’m concerned it’s a case of C3? P.O.! (See what I did there?😋) I already have a quad lock anti vibration mount so I can just use my phone directly for navigation. As for playing music through headphones on the bike, personally I think it’s distracting and removes part of the motorcycling experience. I also have a Beeline unit I can use on either my Honda Dax or Kawasaki Eliminator. Each to their own though and some people will obviously feel differently about it. My Christmas present is a Goldtop Submariners merino wool sweater in Ecru in their Black Friday sale down from £120 to £102. Gorgeous, heavy weight, warm and beautifully made will keep me warm on and off the bike.😁
Good morning. Thank you very much for this, much appreciated. Been pondering a few versions for a while now but you've sealed the deal with your review. I've just ordered 2, one for me and one for my son and will wrap them up from Santa and act surprised on Christmas morning so nobody nows who got me mine 😉🤫👍
I did some research, and it seems like the C5 Pro and C6 Pro come with a camera and tire pressure monitoring, which makes them a bit pricier. Using the 22% discount code TMF22, the prices are: C3: $92.82 (~£72) C5 Pro: $155.99 (~£122) C6 Pro: $170.82 (~£134) I think I’ll start by testing the C3 since it’s affordable and low-risk at just £72. Excited to see how it performs!
I got the C6pro on Lamb Chops discount code and it's outstanding value for money. Sony sensor 1080p cameras. Handy using the rear cam as a rear view mirror. The only issue I have is the GPS speed is locked in km/h and the tyre pressures in psi are just converted from bar so they can jump by 2 psi because of decimal rounding. The best thing is it gets my expensive phone off my handle bars. Love it. If you want the dash cams and tpms just go for it. You won't be disappointed.
Yes you can get other models with extra functionality but I wanted something simple to install. You are correct though, my link gives a 22% discount on ANY model in the range….
Thanks Andy, I ordered mine when you first mentioned it and like you I'd priced up the quodlok stuff and it was way more than this little unit even before your discount and you get a bit of a xmas present too. Happy days
I purchased one of these after seeing your previous video of you using it, and used your discount code. It arrived in NZ (free shipping) in less than two weeks. I just finished fitting it this evening. You're right, it's a no-brainer for the price. All I needed a waterproof SatNav, and this one is perfect.
Had one for a few months now, here in Australia, works great and the best thing is you can move it from bike to bike, just need usb power. Simple usb socket from eBay wire up to battery and you’re good to go.
Yes fascinating that isn't it Richard - I usually publish with three different to see which performs best - normally they're within a few % of each other with no clear winner....
Yes to be fair with the sun behind me there was a lot of glare - it could be a bit brighter but when the sun isn't on it it's fine. But at this price I'm not complaining (one of those matt screen protectors may be the answer)
Hi Andy, ah... that's how you do it? 😊 I was contacted to promote the C6 (even my little channel) but declined. I think it's certainly a bit of an art form to be able to present in front of the camera, which you and the other guys have evolved over the years of doing YT and do a good job at it. Certainly good value. How does it hold up in bad weather and raindrops hitting the screen? Would it be similar to a phone, in that it swipes and auto launches apps etc. Thx G
Thanks very much for help with discount , easy to do , I’ve ordered one 😊😊. Can I ask what I should buy to fit on my bike as I don’t know what’s the best handlebars fitting to buy ?
I'm committed to the Garmin XT2 now but you can't argue with the value of this. The only thing is that the head unit could be detachable so that it could be used on other bikes. Not sure it looks right on the Speed Twin either but now I'm just whingeing.
Yes I agree it's not ideal on a retro bike but if you need it on there temporarily (as I do for a forthcoming Spain trip) then it's fine - would look more at home on an adventure bike or modern naked agreed....
When you park up can you easily remove it or does it sit there a target for thieves? I take my Garmin off the bike each time I park up as it connects electrically via a mount to which it just clips on to.
@@TheMissendenFlyer Good but by the time a thief realises that they need a special tool considerable damage could already have been done to the unit by trying to just rip it off. Better to take it off and remove temptation all together. I understand then that it is not easily removable by the owner unless they unhook the USB plug under the seat and have the special tool with them at all times. Is that correct?
What an excellent unit, and what a price. Unfortunately, my Christmas and New Years present was a new furnace and water heater. As we're getting 2-3 feet of snow in the next 5 days. I guess this was a better no brainer for me. Lol. 👍👍
No it won't fit - you'd need the one I got for the GS for that - did you see my video on that one? It's 4 times the price > ua-cam.com/video/Tm-A7p-hyXk/v-deo.htmlsi=uUL9v80U5joyHTA4
Looks a good deal! QQ: Does it have AMPS bolt pattern on the back? I’ve checked the website but can’t confirm. AMPS bolt pattern means it will easily attach to my current GPS mount. Thanks
Nice unit, saw the review John did on a different model a while back. However this one does the job at a great stocking filling price. Seasons Greetings!
Looks good. I got an autonevee unit from ali Express with tpms and front and rear cameras for £92 odd. For me, the simplicity of use is great. Has everything i want and need and replaced my standalone camera system (which also had tpms), which cost me over £100 more than my android auto unit. The only thing i would like is a separate remote for changing the camera views and locking files, but i can live without that. Had it on around 4 months now and not had any issues with it. Will be buying another one for my other bike and more for any other bikes i get.
you didnt say wich xmas !! ordered one back in october and still not arrived .there site says 1-2 weeks delivery , should say 1-2 months the one i ordered was the c6 pro top of the range . i dont know how people are getting these things in 2 weeks ?
Thanks for the info Andy. It looks interesting but I’ll be sticking with my Tom-Tom Rider. Had it for several years, works perfectly, never let me down anywhere in the world (I take it with me), is small enough to fit on any of my bikes, and I don’t need to keep ‘following technology’ coz it’ll still be working when insects rule the earth again. BTW, does it do anything that your Apple phone doesn’t do already and you just save the £70? Normally I don’t spend much time looking at my screen on a motorbike; I much prefer to look where I’m going. Have a lovely weekend! 😉😉😁👍
Hi. I've got a R1200GS like you. Would you see this as replacing the Nav 5/6? Or as well as? Presumably it won't show all the info that my Nav 6 does? Apologies for all the questions.
It's defo replacement for - and yes you obviously won't get all the bike integrated info but I'd argue Google Maps or Waze via Android Auto or Carplay are better than the GArminb Nav on the BMW unit. And for £70 it's not a lot to risk if it turns out you don't like it....
@@TheMissendenFlyer Absolutely, Google maps is way better. I suppose it's just because I use the bike info including the speed indicator a lot as the dials on the 1200 are so hard to read. I'm wondering whether I could have it as well as the Nav unit.... 😂 Like you say, the price is so good it's a no brainer!!
Cool idea but in practice the GPS is only good if there is cell service. If you venture off the beaten path youll find the GPS no longer works and your phone has overheated. It turns out you do need a dedicated GPS like garmin, and save your phone for communication and yes google stuff. This apple/android carplay became a trend in cars and then hit bikes. Perhaps Honda did it right, but BMW did not. I think the ones, in cars too, where you have a wired connection it work well.
Actually the way the nav apps work, once a route is selected it is downloaded to your phone, so if you temporarily lose service, you don’t lose routing. It works well, I used CarPlay throughout my recent European/alpine tour and never lost routing despite being in the mountains….
No discount for non-UK I guess, not that it's super expensive as is. Looking a the C5 is pretty interesteing too - dual dashcams front-back and even the option of tire pressure monitoring if you don't have that on the bike (which I don't). Hmm. Might be time to invest. Can't hurt to have dashcams in case things go sideways for whatever reason. They do also (if you look at the homepage) have a Black Friday generic code, maybe I'll try that.

Sorry Andy, not for me, as a have the concentration span of a goldfish, would find it way to distracting. And got to say not the most attractive thing sitting on the bars of the gorgeous speed twin. Having said that, I know plenty will disagree and that’s absolutely fine.
@@TheMissendenFlyeryes it would be better on a GS or Multistrada, and honestly can’t work out why the big brands don’t offer Apple / Android Car play on their TFTs. Seems like an odd decision. So I suppose it’s great that someone is offering it, but as mentioned, not for me.
Would be more aesthetically pleasing if it mounted to the handlebar clamp and not the handlebar itself. Of note, swiping and pressing buttons on the move is an offence and is likely to attract penalty points and a fine similiar to that of mobile phone use. Look forward to the tour vid tomorrow. Theoretically, anything that knows where you, are and an internet connection, is a privacy issue. Comes down to whether you trust China or the manufacturers.
Yeah because the Chinese government are really bothered about the location of a motorbike rider from Missenden . What's to be nervous of? People can see where he is when he rides down the road
Most things are of chinese manufacture…. No matter which bike you ride will have chinese manufactured components in it, even if its branded as japanese, german, italian….. so the chinese argument is dead. Move on.
Just as if I would require or even need tat like that , cluttering up my handle bars . The only thing I want to hear when I am riding is the sound of my engine running smoothly , I certainly don’t want to be distracted by nerds gadgets , phones or sat nav devices . The world all its uncles & aunties seem to be plugging this tat on YT at present , either that or a pair of cheapo heated gloves produced in some sweat shop, or both .

@TheMissendenFlyer and in the old days too. But I don't want a Chinese created product. The idea of Android auto on a bike is nice. But I wouldn't buy a Chinese product the way the world is at the moment.

Mounting a phone to your bike carries risks with all the vibration, a dedicated mount can cost as much as the device he's promoting. Also it might save some life on your phone battery by not having the screen illuminated for long periods of time too.
Really do not see the point of that. Far too big and basically if you're that desperate for sat nav or music then just use a cheap Android phone. Carplay and Android Auto can be very glitchy and that's in a car, I deffo would not trust it on a bike.

Does that apply in a car too?
Can you easily take it off when leaving the bike ?
You have to use the special tool they provide you with
Ordered 😊thanks for the discount got it for £73 happy birthday to me 😂 ps f’ck the haters they have nothing better to do 👍
Another cutting edge technology from China - sometimes if it sounds too good to be true it usually is.
I’ve not had any issues with mine thus far, I think it’s great value and I can’t see any down side. What are you suspicious of?
Chyna!
Move on.
might have been asked already but how does it play with an intercom like Cardo
As it hooks to your phone and your cardo does too, it just works - directions, music, whatever just plays out through your intercom (Cardo).
Do have to be wired in or are they rechargeable?
I think it has to be connected up to a battery…
The link shows it at £93.87!
If you follow the process further you'll see the discount is added just before you hit "buy" so you get the chance to see it before you commit
Hi, I followed your link, but it’s still showing a price of £94 unfortunately.
The dicount shows just before you hit the "buy" button so follow the process a bit further and you'll see it discounted before you commit....
Don't buy one then - I'm just pointing out this is a very cheap way to get in Carplay or Android Auto, if it's not for you, fine!
@ I certainly won’t be purchasing one , these are for nerds suffering from techitis & granny cage pilots , who get lost a mile from home .
@@maskedavenger2578 why watch this promo vid in the 1st place then, do you regularly watch things you have zero interest in, just to then talk negative about it in the comments 🤷
Nice Christmas present for bikers. lol
Do you disagree then?
Its £93 on the site if I click the link. Is this correct?
It applies the discount when you add to cart.
Yes as above - the discount is applied just before you buy it - you do get a chance to see the total before you commit....
A bit of blatant product promotion is a breath of fresh air when all I see in my feed are videos about the failing motorcycle industry or why and what’s going on at KTM.
Using the link I see £93?
It applies the discount when you add it to cart.
What he said - the discout shows up just before you buy so you can see it before you commit....
Is there an android auto device that isn't Chinese? I'd rather pay more for something not Chinese.
I'm not aware of any, most electronics these days comprise Chinese parts.
@TheMissendenFlyer and in the old days too. But I don't want a Chinese created product. The idea of Android auto on a bike is nice. But I wouldn't buy a Chinese product the way the world is at the moment.
@@alivekicking6247 do you think your android device dosent have chinese parts in it or any of your electrics and components on your bike and car if you have one, also in your electrical gadgets at home?
I'd say it's impossible to avoid chinese made products these days.
@jonno94 but they are components. The overall product is not Chinese. I'll pay more for a product produced in a friendly country that I have more confidence in.
Buy cheap, buy twice.
just clicked the link above and it came out at £93.00
When you add it to your cart the discount gets applied
@@bobmcgrath1272 Ok great thanks for that info
2:37 isn't it illegal to touch the device whilst riding buddy 🤔
No it isn’t.Its illegal to hold the device whilst using it,he wasn’t holding it it was correctly mounted for hands free use.If you weren’t allowed to remove your hands from the controls to touch anything I’d never change gear in my car.
@@nikolasharvey
Can I touch my phone in a cradle while driving in the UK in 2024?
In a genuine emergency, when it's necessary to call 999 and there's no safe place to stop, some flexibility will be shown if you have to get your phone out. If your car has an SOS call button, you should use that instead. You can't touch your phone while driving, even if it's in a cradle.

To be fair I have no idea on the legalities - I know there are plenty of cars with touch screens so assume all is well....
So genuinely why would you use this instead of your phone other than you can use it with gloves?
Mounting a phone to your bike carries risks with all the vibration, a dedicated mount can cost as much as the device he's promoting.
Also it might save some life on your phone battery by not having the screen illuminated for long periods of time too.
Fair point, also less value if it got stolen
It’s only Android I think ? Mate , I need apple car play
No, I’m using mine with Apple CarPlay….its 100% good for both….
@ ok , on the website only saids Android???
Really do not see the point of that. Far too big and basically if you're that desperate for sat nav or music then just use a cheap Android phone. Carplay and Android Auto can be very glitchy and that's in a car, I deffo would not trust it on a bike.
Does Quid = Pound? You use them interchangeable and i wasn't sure. Thanks, John
Yes it does….
@@TheMissendenFlyer appreciate it. I guess I should have just googled it 🧐
You are a bad man MrF…. After your video of getting the ‘Wing serviced, and using an Africa Twin loaner…. I have taken the plunge to buy one…… therefore I’m avoiding all your purchase advice….as you are emptying my pension fund rapidly….🙄
Sorry about that.....this one shouldn't hurt too much.
Sorry but I do not want a tablet on my motorbike, it looks awful!,
Don’t buy one then 😂
Fair enough.....
Why the f would anyone want to put that on their bike. Despite the fact it looks ugly as sin, it's a huge distraction - take your eyes off the road for 1 second and your risking yourself and others. Riding a motorcycle should be about the ride, not the tech. Not a fan of this nor the publicity of. Dangerous crap and should not be part of the bikers conversation imho
