Glad you like them! I'm struggling a bit right now with the grind of doing a show every week. What do you think of Bobby Ray? I'm trying to decide where he fits in my future shows.

We loved Victoria! Would love to go back! Home exchange gave us a great opportunity to "live like a local" while we were there.

I started my account 3 days ago for my spare 2 bedroom Brooklyn NY apartment and now I have 45 requests. If it was swap only it would be easy because I would have a few fixed dates to work with on my end, but with an apartment that is available all year round it is extremely confusing to go through all the requests and all the dates and try to make sure I am choosing the most profitable ones and then leaving ample time to schedule cleaning without a calendar. Airbnb has a calendar that shows who and which dates. I am also trying to hold pre-approvals as people search for tickets but I cannot keep track without writing it all down as new requests come in for overlapping dates. It's just really really hard and they already have all the data to build a useful scheduling tool with a visual calendar layout but I see no such thing.

I apologize. I had someone submit an inappropriate response to this video, so I changed the comment status to pre-approval. Then I forget to continue to check it, so your comment didn't get posted until now.
In the days since you originally posted, did you sort out how to make this work? It seems to me that it would be a nightmare to have a location be listed with both Airbnb and Home Exchange. I'm assuming you will have to choose between them?

We are going to do 3 home exchanges this year. We just completed the first one, a week in Nice, France. We were there during the Cannes Film Festival and the Grand Prix of Monaco. Many people stay in Nice for each of these, so it was wonderful to have free housing and a great location. Watched Formula One practice in Monaco. Wonderful! More convinced than ever that this is a great idea.

Thanks, Chad. We have enough guest points that we had arranged a 2-week (free) stay in Switzerland next year, but a family situation caused them to have to cancel. So we are looking for a new location. I hope to film another episode about that experience when we do it.

Is there a group within home exchange that works together to share other resources besides the home alone ? Like promo or Christian groups/ministry assignments

Home Exchange has a "groups" section, where you can filter searches for people with a certain interest. I don't see Christian groups, but there are seniors, golf lovers, foodies, horse lovers, music lovers, and hundreds more. If you go to the Home Exchange site, at the bottom of the main page, there are "contact us" options. They can probably answer a question like this.
We do almost exclusively points exchanges now. This year two different couples will be staying in our house at different times, and we are in the process of booking a home in Germany for a few days this summer. We are happy to answer specific questions you might have regarding our experience.

Are there boats also available for home exchange?

Yes, there are houseboats available for exchange. We have come across them several times in areas we were looking to exchange. I saw some today located on the river Seine in Paris, for example. But I don't know how to search for boats only.

I do not recommend! Terrible support and service, I joined the platform, paid for the 1 year membership, and after a few months they banned me from the platform, without even contacting me, only through third parties. I couldn't even defend myself, and I was up to date with my annual payments. They didn't respond to my contacts and they didn't even refund my money. I was informed by third parties that if I removed the complaints on websites and blogs they would reevaluate, which resulted in nothing. Be careful not to have the same thing happen to you, simply a lack of care for the member!

Our experience with Home Exchange has been completely positive, and we have been members for many years and done more than a dozen exchanges across 3 continents. Like many modern organizations (Airbnb, Uber, etc.) the company is an online intermediary that connects two parties who would otherwise not be able to have a mutually satisfactory interaction. As long as the technology works, the quality of interaction is mostly dependent on the two people making the transaction.
We have contacted Home Exchange several times. Once we stopped receiving emails; on another occasion they didn't credit us with some points that we understood we had earned. In both cases they were responsive and fixed the issue promptly. I'm sorry your experience wasn't the same.
