Interesting initiative, since this is more fueled by private industry and not bureaucratic governments, which is nice. The problem I have is that this spaceport concept is really focused on space planes and not also rockets. This concept would also be competing with using regular airports, as space plane technology advances to the point that airports may be feasible. But maybe private industry may show benefits I don't see that this moment, but I wish them well. Vegas does need a new airport to replace the current one. There are plans already at Jeanne NV, but this might also be another viable effort.
Yeah, it seems they just have applied for spaceport operations at this site.. so let's see if they are indeed serious about this.. thus far it seems so
