ATTENTION EVERYONE: Thank you all for watching, I'd like to quickly address a few mistakes I made in this video: Firstly, I showed a picture of an Iguanodon as painted by Charles Knight - that was actually Burian's. I had the image in the wrong folder and didn't even check. Second, I showed an image of Burian's Tarbosaurus next to the Carnivores T-Rex. I knew full well that was a Tarbosaurus, no idea why I just put it up with the T-Rex. My bad, fam. And lastly, I believe Prehistoric Kingdom will and JPOG did have elements of dinosaurs hunting in packs together. That is all. Thanks for watching everyone, have a great day!
@@TheMightyN because that's the Carnivores style. Based around old paleoart. It's something franchises have gotta do, stay in the already set up rules. It's clearly stated I'm the video.
The most underrated animal in the carnivores franchise are the pine trees in Ice Age. They are very ferocious if approached the wrong way and are very cool
Totally agree. You gotta watch out for the palms in Carnivores 1 too, though. Just look at 'em wrong and they'll block your escape from a charging carnivore.
I believe that the Ceratosaurus is the most underrated. I hadn't heard of anyone hunting it or even talking about it until the challenge went live on facebook. It has a cool design and somewhat unique behaviors but it is completely overshadowed by the other big predators, especially T-rex since they use most of the same animations.
I really love the Coelophysis too, especially when hunting it without radar. You see, you can hear the pack from a mile away from the sounds they make, allowing you to prepare and encouraging hunters to listen, but despite being small, they can one hit you just like everything else, and due to their ability to regroup and attack in overwhelming numbers, you really have to be cunning or skilled to slay the entire pack. Use the environment to your advantage such as climbing mountains, getting them stuck on ravines and slopes, etc. Or pick them off in the distance with a sniper and then quickly evacuate. It really makes this game and hunting a lot more intriguing, and as if I am hunting real intelligent, dangerous animals instead of AI that act very similar to each other. Now, I love the AI in Carnivores as well as the next person, but Coelophysis definitely stands out and deserved #1 on this list.
Excellent analysis, I totally agree. The Coelophysis has opened a whole new world of possible animal behaviors and interactions, if the devs will take advantage of it.
I think the Allo would be 4 for me, it's the first animal in carnivores that is a carnivore, it shaped me into being a man, even though it's the main reason my herbivore hunts are unsuccessful
I think the Utahraptor should keep it's feathers, it makes it unique and helps it stand out from the Velociraptor. Or they could have quills instead like the male Raptors in Jurassic Park 3 have.
In my opinion, the most underrated is the Amargasaurus, especially since no one talks about them these days! Also an Underrated artist of paleoart that people never talks about is Rob Walters
100% agree. If Carnivores ever got a proper HD remake, I have a feeling the Spinosaurus would look exactly like the Spinoraptor (except for the feet, obviously).
I like how this video is basically a tutorial on how to design a good Carnivores creature design. This actually really helps when working on things like fan made designs either in art or mods.
I also really like how Velociraptor and Gallimimus look so similar. It really makes this alien world feel real! Like maybe the Gallimimus looks like a Velociraptor so that predators will hesitate to hunt it, or maybe the Velociraptor looks like a Gallimimus so herbivores won’t expect their demise! Maybe both! I just like it. It’s similar to how some non-venomous snakes look like venomous ones to scare away predators.
this video made me realize how much your voice acting (for lack of a better term) has improved over the years:) keep up the great work and as always thank you for the great content!

Saurian, wish you added Brachiosaurus, in my opinion i really liked it.When you see it in a hunt. You wil have fun.Bout anyway i love the video. Keep up the good work!
In terms of Cityscape, I'd say the Nanotyranus is underrated. It's one of the few Dinosaurs in the entire game that's killed me the most, and it takes meaty chunks of health off the Agents health. Of course, the game's A.I. wasn't really designed that well, so I can understand why none of the none of the 5 Dinosaurs were mentioned. However, the pack-hunting of the Celeo on the mobile port of Carnivores 2 is certainly something worth discussing.
The Ceratosaurus was another one I was thinking about mentioning, but I just assumed that most players would've already highly praised it. After all, it came with the more realistic eye-closing detail, when it was tranquilized/killed, not to mention its tank-y nature.
Another fantastic video, and great points on all the dinosaurs listed. While I do like the official Carnivores style look of the carnivores, that has been something that ALWAYS bothered me since I first found out about the games. Not because I think they should have been 100% faithful to Burian's art, but because the predators look so much more derived than the herbivores. I look at the Stegosaurus and think "How the heck is this animal supposed to realistically survive in an environment with carnivores bigger than it like T.rex and Ceratosaurus?" This has given me an idea for something to work on, for fun anyway...
Good to have you back saurian! Missed your videos.! For me, the most underrated dinosaurs in Carnivores are Brachiosaurus, Amargasaurus, Triceratops and Carnotaurus
But comrad Saurian, why would you put most hated dino at number 1 spot? I said that because you said that at the beggining. I agree with your list entirely by the way.
Actually, a little comment in the pack hunting behavior. Also, if I'm correct, the Velociraptors of JPOG do wander around relatively close and attack in groups, but they are definetly clunky and they do not decide which prey to take down toghether.
Ah, that's great to hear! I really hope PK does well, it seems to have so much potential. I actually wasn't sure if the Velociraptors in JPOG had actual pack hunting or not, but that's good to know! Thanks for the clarification!
In fact in the book, there is some dinos that could have been seen as alien by the outdated scientific standards, but also there in some ways looks amazing! Have you seen his quadraped acrocanthosaurus?
For me, one of the most underrated animals is the Amargasaurus. Because, like Coelophysis, it opens up a brand new world for official Carnivores content, huntable sauropods.

G’day Saurian, so, this morning I was playing on my IPad for the Mobile Port Challenge (dinosaurs that are only in Dinosaur Hunter and on the last map) and I realised something quite « horrifying » with the Coelophysis that can make this one the scariest of all Carnivores Dinosaur Hunter huntable dinos : The AI makes it flee at first, and once they are quite far away, they start to track you down. And here comes the best part : once they start to follow you, they will NEVER let you go, you can teleport to the end of the map, they will still follow you until you die or finish the hunt. I don’t know, I think everyone found out already before me but I just saw it this morning and I thought I’d let you know that in case you didn’t hear about this behaviour
This is true! They kind of have a pseudo-Rex AI, where they'll flee for a bit if startled, but they always come back with a vengeance. if you time your relocates right, you can get every single Coelophysis in the game to come after you in a gigantic pack.
I expected the pachy and gallimimus to be mentioned for often being mistook for other dinos everytime I see a pachy I freak out thinking its an allosaurus and everytime you see a velo you think its a galli

But that is just my opinion

Imagine Saurian Target looked up “what dinosaur has 500 teeth“
In Carnivores Ice Age, wolves should be in packs, because in real life they are known to move in packs.
OH GET REKT ISLE
I'll always go out of my way to call out the Isle even if it makes no sense. xD
Jpog has herding
Please see pinned comment, thanks!
G’day Saurian, so, this morning I was playing on my IPad for the Mobile Port Challenge (dinosaurs that are only in Dinosaur Hunter and on the last map) and I realised something quite « horrifying » with the Coelophysis that can make this one the scariest of all Carnivores Dinosaur Hunter huntable dinos :
The AI makes it flee at first, and once they are quite far away, they start to track you down.
They kind of have a pseudo-Rex AI, where they'll flee for a bit if startled, but they always come back with a vengeance. if you time your relocates right, you can get every single Coelophysis in the game to come after you in a gigantic pack.
puedes acer un mod de carnivores ice age
I expected the pachy and gallimimus to be mentioned for often being mistook for other dinos everytime I see a pachy I freak out thinking its an allosaurus and everytime you see a velo you think its a galli
Sigilmassasaurus is pretty underrated imo
True! Shame it's not in any games or mods yet.
11:31 give the animal some love
Oh and I plz want you to read Jurassic park . It's worth it brother.
