Red does like lancers, in fact Red, Blue and Indigo streamed them tier listing lancers, and their live streams are always fun chaos, so you might want check it out in your own time.
I honestly don't think about "this character is the lancer" when writing, but I tend to focus on the characterization. So like "what would this character do/say" or "how would these two interact". Admittedly a lot of my characters are drawn from people I know and no one has a Lancer in their life, so it's not something that comes up quite as often. But yeah, totally agree with you and Red that Lancers are best when they contrast but are not opposites to their partner.
Hey Ryan! I just wanted to suggest a new history channel for you to react to: Old Britannia. He does Victorian to WW1/WW2 history and is overall great at his niche and covers topics not often touched on during the time period. He is similar in style to Historia Civilis but still unique and has his own style. He recently posted a new video on the Logic of Appeasement, it’s successes, and of course it’s failures. He covers the circumstances surrounding appeasement and the geopolitical motivations. I sincerely hope that you can react to the video and enjoy it thoroughly. Have a good day!
