Yea I use Siri every day like 20+ or more but I feel like It also needs to know those trivial kind of questions because those are important too those are also a thing to get done
Happy to sacrifice some functionality for privacy. The others really are only better with trivial stuff... which is, frankly, trivial. With the Apple Watch, Siri is fantastic - dictating messages, setting reminders, adding events, searching for locations and navigating, controlling HomeKit devices and starting/stopping workouts.
KenwolfMC which is why apps and systems are changing their privacy policy to show what they actually do with the data they collect. That doesn't make Google any less secure
Great video 🙂 I use Siri regularly. I have always used it to get things done. I am not one to ask it all that many general knowledge type questions. Make calls, send messages in different apps, set reminders, make lists, schedule and check on events in my calendar, check if I have any new emails, "what's the whether like tomorrow?", control Apple Music, and making currency and measurement conversions - that is what I use Siri for. It does a remarkable job at that. Then, when it comes to the other stuff, it has gotten better at that too. A couple of months ago, Apple started using Google again for Siri and Search. It has massively improved Siri's ability to find a lot of the useless trivia I've asked it. I respect Apple's focus on privacy and thank them for it.
Siri helps in small, nifty things like music, alarms, timers, reminders, weather, home control... a pretty nifty feature Though the Google Assistant has leapfrogged in advancements

andman Siri use machine learning and search engine like google and show the relative one because the title of video is “The History of Siri” so Siri will show this video in the top of the list.
I used to use the stand alone Siri app before it was acquired by Apple. I learned about it through my college professor in 2009 whose nephew was one of the 20 or so original developers. I LOVED the app, it worked so well and was extremely useful and surprising good at handling fairly random requests.
I use Siri very little, like make a call or send a message. This works perfect enough for me, but I do hate how it NEEDS internet to function. Like it cant do a simple 2+2 unless connected to the internet?!
On Macs, they support offline Siri, but it is ~2 gig download which is a lot for mobile devices where that can be up to ~20% of the storage. Let alone trying to process the data afterward.
neoney iOS 12 is 2GB, so there is 14 GB of free space meaning it’s actually closer to 15 percent. But I didn’t want to pull out a calculator so instead I used a ~ symbol meaning roughly.
a ten year old that is obsessed with the game Voice control, which was more of an accessibility feature than an assistant. It’s still baked into iOS also.
Holy cow I forgot how long ago Siri came out, feels like yesterday I was impressed at my dads newest 4s, now years later I am the one getting excited for tech and sometimes buying it and he doesn’t want to change his 6s PLUS
Dr3aMGamingBG Well I have hardware for my job that does not work on all Android devices and I like the amount of tech support I’ve been getting with iPhone, even though I paid more for the phone.
For me, Siri far surpasses the 'useful threshold' while retaining privacy. I've always loved its focus on on-device tasks rather than answers from online sources. It's just so much easier and faster to use Siri for calling someone, setting timers or reminders, or playing songs. And it did this in 2011, the rest was kind of extra.
I use Siri for lots of things like weather, searching for locations, searching Wikipedia, setting calendar, reminders, taking notes and setting alarms. And it does the job quite well. When I use Google Assistant it never gets what I’m saying, it’s really annoying.
Douglas Ceretta Hamerski yeah because Google Assistant just worked well on Android I mean Apple has Siri in their system but Google Assistants just an app on iOS.
I use it all the time, mostly on my watch. To check the weather, to set timers and alarms, to send quick messages and to call people, very rarely to do anything else. It’s handy.
This reminds me of the Google Maps/Apple Maps disaster in which Google basically said to Apple, “if you don’t share the car location data and other tracking data, you can’t use our maps app. No way Steve Jobs would take that deal. Hence they had to scramble to finish their Maps app which wasn’t ready although they had been working on. The media had a good laugh at Apple, but it was due to some shady work on Googles part
This just reminded me of something dumb I did years ago. So when I was about 5-years-old I discovered Siri on my mom's phone. I was a huge fan of Star Wars at the time and I was just asking Siri to show pictures of Star Wars. Then my 5-year-old ass decided to ask Siri to show me Star Wars characters using the bathroom. My mom overheard me and I got in big trouble.
From the ones ive used this is how I rank voice assistants 1. Ok Google 2.Siri 3.Bixby Honestly, Bixby sucked so bad for me. It never understood what I asked it, even if it was a common or basic command and ofteb answered "sorry, I dont know how to do that" to things that I know Google and Siri can do. It misunderstood me often.
I really only use Siri for Setting alarms and also sometimes I ask her questions but sometimes when I ask her questions she says that she doesn’t understand me or can’t do that
Siri has really helped people with disabilities. One of my friends has trouble moving his arms and uses Siri extensively to do things on his phone since it otherwise causes pain to do manually.
What I’ve noticed when switching back to Apple after several years with android and a few of them with Google Assistant is this: I was often annoyed that Google Assistant, as much as I like it, failed to understand what I wanted when I was gonna send someone a WhatsApp message while navigation was on. You know, while I am driving I don’t want to even hold my phone. Since I’ve heard how bad Siri was supposed to be in comparison I did not expect it to work so flawlessly when I did the same thing on my new iPhone. And also the way Siri uses context is much better. Like when I asked Google Assistant what’s the weather gonna be like today and my next question is “how about tomorrow”, it won’t know what I’m talking about.
I can use it to change to a specific song in my car using Hey Siri, it’s really easy to use and works with the cars Bluetooth. I also ask it to call people for me when I’m busy with my hands like cooking and stuff so I don’t get my phone dirty
I don't think user data have much to do with Siri's dumb behaviors, it simply lags behind technologically. Say, Google Assistant doesn't require web connection to outperform Siri in voice recognition accuracy, and the gap between them can be huge.
And yall praise Google the same way. While yall are having Samsung devices and Google Pixels that aren't as secure, we're rocking it over here with a secure device. #idcthatimanapplesheep lol
BoneyGamer lol i am not praising both platforms. im just applauding the one who innovates the most. if you really want a very secure life, use a basic phone from nokia or better yet, dont use a gadget anymore 😒
I’m like yourself, I only use Siri really for sending texts and making phone calls or maybe asking a quick question occasionally. This video has actually been a real insight to be honest, as I didn’t know Siri could do so much and I can remember when it came out on the iPhone 4S!
The privacy information you stated is very skewed so much so that some of it is essentially false. Google does indeed collect voice data for improvements in recognition and suggested features. However, Apple may not store voice data but they most likely do store the queries, every query is sent to Apple's servers and processed there which is why Siri requires an internet connection. Apple's lack of innovation is not due to its lack of data collection, Apple are simply focusing elsewhere. Google for the record, give full control over storing voice data, all of it can be viewed on the myaccount site and can even be disabled if the user chooses.
Blazzike that’s if you’re a techie. My aunt has no idea her data is being recorded so naturally she would go digging into her account setting to turn something off she’s not aware of. Google needs to state this explicitly when setting up the device.
Terane that'll become the norm. Every app is updating their privacy policy, letting know what data they collect from their users. They're afraid of what happened to Facebook
Thank you for understanding! I hate it when people say that you're a product and that you're being sold to the highest bidder. All your info is just running through computers! So whi is everyone so worried?
You know, everything virtual assistant requires internet. You need it to pull up web pages or to do anything else internet related. Even though some other virtual assistants may not need an internet connection, they won't have as many features. Apple may collect data that requires internet, but VA's just need internet to be good.
I mostly use Siri for the HomePod when listening to music. Most of the time it's an okay experience, but sometimes Siri can be incredibly dumb. Sometimes I will ask her to play a song and she will act like the song does not exist, only for me to manually search the song on Apple Music and it be right there. Other times she will play remixes of a song or a live version, when I want to hear the original version, and I can't get her to play the original. Then there's some songs that use a character like ?!@# in the title that I can't possibly verbalize, and there's no way of knowing what the verbal cue would be to tell Siri to play that particular song or album, so I always have to do it manually for those albums or songs. Things like that might sound minor, but they really do disrupt the flow of easily laying back and listening to music when I end up having to dig my phone up after struggling to get Siri to play the song or album I want. I don't expect Siri to be a Trivial Pursuit machine, but she's advertised as a musicologist by Apple themselves, so I expect her to at least know a Billboard charting song exists.
I am in the iOS eco-system full-bore. I love Siri BUT I tend to use Hey-Google for informational purposes most often. I really hope Apple can tweak Siri out soon to be more of a Rock Star system like it once was when it was an embryo. I believe Apple can achieve Siri Stardom if only to just do it.
I switched to Google Assistant because Siri couldn't even hear me and I have Alexa too but Alexa didn't even understand what questions I was asking so now I'm fully Google Assistant
I use Siri every day for making calls, sending texts, setting alarms, and sometimes changing settings, and listening to music. It works really well. I would say better than Alexa. I only use it for accomplishing tasks, not for answering trivia questions or anything like that though.
Reminders, calendar events, alarms, timers, starting music, texting people quickly and quick math are very fast and easy with Siri on iOS 13. For certain things the response is almost instantaneous. Google assistant is good at those things too but I find Siri to be more reliable at doing it faster than I could’ve done on my own
Hello! Thank you for the video with many interesting facts about Aunt Siri. In the video, it is mentioned that the voices of the US English, the UK English and the Australian English versions of Siri are originally provided by the actors Susan Benett, John Brigs and Karen Jacobson. Do you know who are the voice actors of the French (on the iPhone 4s), Russian, Swedish (the older version), Norwegian and Danish version of Siri? Nuance would never reveal this information if I asked them. Thanks in advance for your answer. Best regards.
I use Siri about once a day. It’s a nice feature to have. The new shortcuts app is exceptional and I can now personally program Siri to do things I need it to do that she doesn’t normally do. I enjoy Siri as a feature and am glad apple still cares about it.
I don't use any of these digital assistants I find that it's just quicker to do things on my own then to try and figure out how I need to ask the phone to do it for me. As they say if you want something done right you just have to do it yourself.
Siri's only really problems are the following:
1. her lack of ability to remember context or chains of queries. like, she struggles with follow-up questions.
2. she doesn't always/usually respond with voice feedback when asking a query, for example, you can ask Siri something and she wont respond vocally, just a here is what I found: followed by a link or article etc.
if apple can get those two things going, there is nothing more Siri really needs to do. Everything else is fine.
Actually she can do follow-up questions very well. "Who is Donald Trump?" "How old is he?" "Who is he married to?" "Does he have children?". That's just one example.

When imu Said google now, it triggered my phone 😂
It shouldn't because it should recognised is you voice and it's called Google assistant
I thought you say Hey Google
If you do not get this joke there is something SIRIUSly RON with you
2024: Siri has a facelift and has Apple Intelligence on it, grounded on personal context and privacy
i want to know when is siri ever created so i can say happy birthday to siri
After watching this I used Siri.
Thank you, jazzisqueen.
Siri i have Android :( i don't have you
Siri your welcome I usually activate you via AirPods and use you to send messages on apple watch and phone. I own a Amazon echo tho
Coniglio 087 I barley ever use Siri. I use the Alexa in my room.
Your not missing anything stick with Google assistant. It's smarter than siri
When you hear Kobe’s name after his death 😭😭😭😭😭
This channel is awesome
Wow Siri looks so much more different compared to before
I always thought that the iOS 10 Siri was the only Siri until iOS 14
From the ones ive used this is how I rank voice assistants
1. Ok Google
2.Siri
3.Bixby
Honestly, Bixby sucked so bad for me. It never understood what I asked it, even if it was a common or basic command and ofteb answered "sorry, I dont know how to do that" to things that I know Google and Siri can do. It misunderstood me often.
Yeah, Bixby is the worst.
oh my god !
i had Siri before it was integrated !
i remember that app 😅
Happy 10th Anniversary, SIRI! We’re glad that you’re our famous voice software after all those years. 😀 😁 😃 😃 😄 😁 🍾 🎉 🎊 🥳
"Hey Siri, call my brother"
"SORRY I COULDN'T FIND YOUR BROTHER CRAIG JONES IN YOUR CONTACTS'
"..."
What I’ve noticed when switching back to Apple after several years with android and a few of them with Google Assistant is this:
I was often annoyed that Google Assistant, as much as I like it, failed to understand what I wanted when I was gonna send someone a WhatsApp message while navigation was on.
I still pick Siri over Google Marketing Bots.
alright
Pravin Ramana Everything is done ✅
so futuristic
Jimmy Gunawan I love Siri.
Other AIs: *collecting data to get better*
Siri: I did it, I gave them privacy.
What did it cost?
Siri: *brain cells*
Siri only comes in handy when I want to set an alarm before sleep and turn Low Power mode on and off
who likes apple

Epic Player 02 meeeeee

Shuffler Your smartphone war becomes more and more ridiculous.
@@jonathanblacksmith umm no, Samsung, one plus, and google have amazing phones. I’m an Apple user myself but still
I can use it to change to a specific song in my car using Hey Siri, it’s really easy to use and works with the cars Bluetooth.
Kila Lau they dont like to admit that they are lagging behind the competition and continue to praise apple as if it cares about them 😏
And yall praise Google the same way.
Maybe because Google developed Asisstant with a pre-existing, giant user database...
Really? Apple shows you CAN have both. It just slows down some parts of innovation and progression.
For 50K ideas: The history of the oldest, continuous app on the macOS / iOS platform.
I’m like yourself, I only use Siri really for sending texts and making phone calls or maybe asking a quick question occasionally. This video has actually been a real insight to be honest, as I didn’t know Siri could do so much and I can remember when it came out on the iPhone 4S!
Siri>Bixby
Google Assistant>Every other AI assistant
Siri == Google Assistant
THİS İS WRONG !!!!
is
Bixby > All Assistant's
Siri is the shittiest of them all. Even the one in my Windows computer is better
Google Assistant > Alexa > Bixby > Cortana >= Siri
Not really m8. Google Assistant is MUCH more powerful, and with Duplex likely coming out soon, Google is leagues ahead.
siri is such a wholesome person
I need Siri so I can turn on my bedroom lights.
Siri impressed the audience but the audience looked bored. Apple is not bad at making presentations that are interesting.
Terane Wait for GDPR this May 25th.
I don’t use Siri for much outside of setting reminders and alarms. I think that it’s pretty cool that it dates all the way back to 2010.
You are best youtuber!!! To 100.000 subs
Surprisingly Siri been more useful to me than Google Assistant
I use Siri to know what time it is when I am not close to my phone but close enough to use Siri.😏
I kinda feel like most virtual assistants are just lacking. The only thing I use them for is setting timers at work and finding out quick information.
There is an voice assistant in a 1998 twentieth anniversary macintosh... It is named TAM
What about Cortana
I switched to Google Assistant because Siri couldn't even hear me and I have Alexa too but Alexa didn't even understand what questions I was asking so now I'm fully Google Assistant
I use Siri every day for making calls, sending texts, setting alarms, and sometimes changing settings, and listening to music. It works really well. I would say better than Alexa. I only use it for accomplishing tasks, not for answering trivia questions or anything like that though.
I’m a Ap-WAIT NINA? THAT’S MY FREAKING NAME...
Modern Siri is Alan Schwartz.
0:26 very Siri-ous Apple Watch style notification comments!
Hey Siri, what's the weather like today?
I use siri just to mess with her and hear her funny responses
The fact I got an advert for Siri before this
It's now Siri's 10th anniversary after being introduced on the iPhone 4s!
I use Siri about once a day. It’s a nice feature to have. The new shortcuts app is exceptional and I can now personally program Siri to do things I need it to do that she doesn’t normally do. I enjoy Siri as a feature and am glad apple still cares about it.
Siri isnt dumb. She's dyslexic.
I don't use any of these digital assistants I find that it's just quicker to do things on my own then to try and figure out how I need to ask the phone to do it for me. As they say if you want something done right you just have to do it yourself.
