This dual lighting look is very flattering indeed, great idea. It would be very interesting to see this compared to the "ring light around the lens" setup, which many videographers use whith very flattering results. It has this crisp highlighs look, without creating a hotspot. But those are quite more expensive than this cool solution here!

I'm a big fan of the chanel. I just have to say though that the look you got with that rig was also due to the substantial hair/rim light on the subject before turning the key light on. It wouldn't look as good without that additional hair light. Pretty important detail IMO. But I'm just nitpicking. Thanks for always trying new stuff and bringing it to the rest of us.

I'm going on vacation in a few months, and I was wondering if you have a review on WATERPROOF cameras! Hopefully on the inexpensive, pocket-size ones. We'll be mostly using it in the pool, river and probably rainy weather.
I have been reading about AKASO Brave 7 LE, Olympus TG, Ricoh WG-80, DJI Action 3, Kodak Sport Underwater Camera, and a bunch of other ones. I'm very curious to see what you think and recommend.

Always enjoy your content. Just got a small light and was nice to see the comparison of different setups. I'm going small and light travel kit right now so I'll be sticking with a single light setup, just to provide some fill lighting in indoor spaces, but it's on a QD system so I can pop it off and place it somewhere else if needed. I'm using some really tiny QD mounts from SmallRig, they are called HawkLock, great for lightweight gear.

Hello Marcus, I discovered your channel during the pandemic, and you have really inspired me to get back into filmmaking, I took some film classes in high school, and even made a kung foo action film , so fast forward 48 years, I’m a pastry chef in Montana and I am currently in the process of filming a documentary about my coworkers and the restaurant lifestyle, so if I ma ask you a couple of questions, in the last few months I’ve purchased a Panasonic VX1 camcorder and more importantly a set of three Samsung cameras, two Nx minis and an Nx500, it was a great deal and I felt I couldn’t pass it up, so here are my questions, the best lens to use for indoor video on the Nx500 and are the lenses on the 500 interchangeable with the minis , with or without an adapter, and lastly is the editing using the H.265 codec(hevc)? . Thank you in advance for your inspirational content.

The overhead rig is a regular thought for me becuse it shadowlesly can fill in the outer 2. Although the 'pair' have to have some ratio greater < than 1:1; choose a side- and higher or lower height if needed. The hat is cheaper than any extended spine/shoulders mount. I have used a 'backpack frame' that looks kind of less nerdy and more tactical robo tech. But the hat is so simple to a point.
ut th backpack hold so much 'extras- batt and audio boom' You are so ambitious to keep at the channel. Do you actually do mainstream commercial work?
