I personally don't mind listening to Gary Danielson call buckeye games. His partner Brad Nessler is one of the best in the business. He makes the commentary worth hearing.

Greetings from the 419! Here for Birm!! Love you guys are talking about both lines. I think Josh Simmons is playing at an elite level, but Seth has arguably been the best player on our team this year. Between Simmons, Seth, and Donnie, this line is starkly better than last year. Fryar has played well too to minus a handful of very bad plays. Tegra has stepped up for a young guy, but needs to build consistency which I think will come with reps. Sereiveld has played really well too, so I couldn't be more high on our O line. Our D line has some studs too...Jack and JTT will eat as we continue to get into big ten play. Think JTT would make for a better DT than DE but that's neither here nor there. Tyliek's absence was noticeable, Hero struggled. However, Kmac is super impressive, Mitchell Melton as well. Curry, Malone, & Kenyata have all shown flashes too! Absolutely love our rotations this year! Hope Knowles keeps Downs "activated". Lathan has been our best player on defense through the first 4 games imo...he absolutely flies around! I don't necessarily like taking Hancock off the field for a third LB. Hoping something clicks with Sonny this week and he starts playing like we all think he's capable of playing. He just looked a step or two slow or indecisive in the first halves of Akron, Marshall, & Sparty, plus missing tackles doesn't help. If it doesn't click for Sonny this game, I think you have to start looking at starting Arvelle starting at MIKE, and Cody at WIL against Oregon. Wish Arvelle had been cross trained at WIL but again neither here nor there. That's how I see things 👀. Great show boys, Go Bucks!! PS Keep Tom Rinaldi away from this game please lol

Agree re Urban Meyer. It seems as though 1 game a season he didn't have the team ready to play, he and they took off. Day hasn't had that.
Birm; I couldn’t agree more about the romanticism of the Tress & Urban eras compared to Days. First of all were a blown targeting call vs Marv away from having a Natty under day, and the worst officiated game I’ve ever seen in my life vs Clemson in 19 away from a coin flip vs LSU in another Natty. Not to mention Tress & Urb had staffs built under them from years of being HC while Day has had to do it on the fly. I love all 3. But in the NIL era give me Day over Tress & Urb 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.

Nobody has flashed more than Mitchell Melton when it comes to a solid pass rush. How is he not getting more playing time? Does he have issues with stopping the run game? Makes no sense.

Jack Nicholas is the greatest golf player. No, it's not Tiger, if you look at Nicholas's 2nd place finishes it dwarfs Woods's accomplishments which are great for sure. Nicholas from the time he took up the game was a fierce worker. The head golf pro at Scioto where Nicholas grew up playing said of him, that no one comes close to his work ethic and work on his game. The truly great ones also are the hardest worker at their game.
The DL is going to have to put on the BIG BOY pants as Iowa is going to challenge OSU's toughness.

The o-line, as in the past 3 years, continues with a blocking technique that includes standing up, letting the defender get their under pads, surrendering leverage, then just trying to lean on the defender and turn the them away from the hole. Bigger, stronger, more athletic defenders will blow these blocks up, penetrating to the running back in the backfield as we have repeatedly seen in the past and we saw in the first half against MSU. Ross Fulton noted these "all too often" bad habits in his tape review. Our freakish receivers and running backs, decent pass protection, and competent QB play kept the MSU defense on the field, wearing the d line down until they were gassed and demoralized. Let's hope our backfield and perimeter position players can continue to overcome poor fundamentals on the line of scrimmage.
