Hope This Helps Good Luck for your ATP paper tomorrow !!!!! [00:00] Explanation of question 3 in Paper 42 and why roots grow towards gravity - Gravitropism and geotropism are not relevant to the question - The question asks why the seed was placed with the radical pointing vertically downwards - Horizontal placement would result in both roots and shoots growing in opposite directions [02:33] Tips for maximizing the growth of radicals and drawing cells undergoing mitosis under a microscope - Radicals should be grown downwards to prevent bending - Controlling temperature and water are two environmental conditions that can ensure maximum growth of radicals - When drawing cells undergoing mitosis, make a large drawing with a sharp pencil and correct orientation, occupying at least 70mm of space [05:06] Drawing techniques for scoring in biology exams - Double line needed to show cell wall in root tip question - Four separate groups of chromosomes are needed with no shading and correct orientation - Detail of three chromosomes with arms pointing upwards on the bottom left side and a v-shaped chromosome on the bottom right side - Measurements of approximately 70mm in length for cell drawing [07:39] Shading is not allowed in Paper 4, and careless mistakes can cost marks - Shading will result in a loss of the first mark - Drawing a straight line between B and C on the photomicrograph is required - The length of the line must be measured and recorded to calculate the actual length of the cell - Magnification is 600 times, so the length must be divided by 600 and recorded to the nearest two decimal places - Careless mistakes, such as forgetting to write the unit or doing the math incorrectly, can cost marks
Hey there! May June 2024 student here that just finished my theory paper. The answer to your question is easily, yes. Doing papers is a great way to study. During the entirety of revision for OLs, all I did were past papers. Specially the new 2023 syllabus ones. I would also advise you to check out UA-cam videos on topics you don't understand. Don't bother with short notes, unless you are a very visual learner, they barely help. Just try understanding the patterns and the requirements of the mark scheme. Goodluck!
I think you're mistaken. In O Levels, there is no grade for failure. So, the letters from A to E/F (i dont remember), are passing grades. So, if you do fail, you're not provided with a grade.
Hope This Helps
