Late 2014/early 2015 was a perfect time to push Dolph Ziggler into the main event in my opinion. Looked like he was really getting over with the fans at the time. Another missed opportunity in WWE.
They messed up with Ryback and Zack Ryder...say what you want but barely anyone gets the reactions those two got ....in the 2010s wwe got infamous for fumbling the bag on young stars and pivotting to part timers
I would arguably say Ryback back in like 2012-2013. They pushed that dude and got caught in a stalemate between CM Punk’s title, Ryback’s winning streak, and the obvious Cena vs. Rock match at WM29.
I always thought Dolph Ziggler was going to be the next HBK! He always went 100 mph. Flew, took the bumps. Just the same style as HBK. They really dropped the ball with Dolph!
Theory had overexposure under Vince in 21-22 time. He wasn't necessarily overpushed, it's just that they had him do too much and everything was so sped up. I feel like Theory is still suffering from that. Mayne a little break and coming back would do a lot of good for him
Gregory Helms After Ditching The Green Lantern Inspired Hurricane gimmick I felt the longest reigning Cruiserweight champ was due for a overhaul but not like that
Back in 1993 when Bob Backland came back to WWE/WWF I thought it was stupid to bring back this wrestler who last wrestled in the WWE 9-10yrs earlier and that he was to old to wrestle. Now we look at Goldberg who hadn’t wrestled in 12yrs and was 9yrs older than Bob Backland and most fans did’t really think nothing of it. Goldberg had to do months of training to get into ring shape and if you know anything about Bob Backland (which I didn’t in 93 as I only started watching WWE in 86) you would know he didn’t need to train to get into ring shape and that even though he’s about 66yrs old now he’s in fantastic shape for a man in his 40’s let alone in his mid 60’s. And another thing is Bob is not a man to be messed with, I remember Kevin Nash talking about Bob Backland saying Bob didn’t like a certain wrestler (I’m trying to think who it is, I want to say Shawn Michaels but I can’t imagine Nash saying this about HBK) in his second run in WWE when playing his Mad Bob Backland character and didn’t want to wrestle this person as Bob said he would stretch this guy and Nash said “you don’t wanna mess with Bob as he’s a badass and all man”. Bob won state (that’s a definite) and possible national amateur wrestling championship winner with Jeff Jarrett saying he has the best cardio I’ve seen when talking about him in 93-95 time Jeff was in WWE
Karrion Kross is the easiest person to book that they're wasting. Keep dude in the conversation for world title picture while letting him completely maul underneath talent in impressive fashion in the in-between time. Being presented with a hour glass should be the ultimate bad omen for good guy or bad guy.
The Babyface Rock. It was only when The Rock turned heel that his potential was unleashed. Some wrestlers are better at heel work and have the charisma to make it work.
Vladimir Kozlov was pushed much too quickly, not to speak of the fact he was pretty much wedged in awkwardly into HHH and Jeff Hardy's feud for the title.
How is charolette not on the list. Her booking feels like the worst parts of reigns and cena. She's kept in the title picture endlessly (having 7/7 of her mania matches being for a divas/women's title) despite often being outside of the top 5 over women on her show.
This list is "pushed at the wrong time" whereas what you are describing would more be "Wrestlers who are pushed all the time" or "Wrestlers WWE keeps on pushing but aren't getting over" But that said, realistically she is always in the title picture because its just the nature of WWE's womens division: they have two women's titles but they only have a small number of women who are main eventers and really belong in the title scene... yes, we did see recent champs like Liv Morgan or Nikki Cross and while it was great to see them win the title when they did win it was pretty much already time to take the belt off them. And thats all just because of bad booking from WWE for the women - Bayley is a good example of this: she came back as a faction leader, immediately was butting heads with Becky Lynch and she should have gone in to the upper card and women's champion scene... but instead they've portrayed her as a loser who is leading a faction of losers that don't even know how to cheat to win properly.
Damn I hope Big E can comeback greater than before 🙏🏽 he was heavily disrespected as a champion and yeah the company didnt support him. He’s a gem and has it all and the charisma to be a megastar of the current generation. Big E vs Roman at Summerslam, book it papa H. He could be the one. Im so ready for his return pop, could be legendary and he can pick up where he left off with a lot of steam. But if his neck cant go anymore, I sadly understand. His health should be his priority.
Imagine if you will, an alternate timeline where Roman betrayed The Shield instead of Seth. He becomes the mailed fist of The Authority as his family is the most trusted by the company and that's "best for business." Slowly, HHH and Stephanie start taking him for granted. Any failure gets him chastised and humiliated. Imagine the pop when he finally has enough and superman punches HHH in the middle of the ring. Authority surrounds the ring with heels next week as Roman stands at the entrance. Usos join him. Rollins and Ambrose join him. It's on!
Truly, the mystery of the ages why WWE either doesn't push stars like Booker T, or doesn't get behind wrestlers they put the strap on like Kofi, or Big E. Nobody will ever be able to unravel the enigma that ties these incidents together. Supercomputer AI's catch fire and explode trying to figure out the link. Ancient sages fall to their knees wondering about what it could be.
I think at best, Elias could be a decent midcard Champion just based on the reactions he can get from the live crowd. Other than that, yeah, just have him show up to get beat up every now and then because him getting interrupted is hilarious when done right.
Roman's push pushed me away from WWE. Nothing has changed to this day. As a matter of fact, I find myself actually hating that Roman is still being pushed. I can't even enjoy his whole bloodline thing because of the bad taste in my mouth. 😅
Feel the same way. After seven plus years of watching this guy get pushed when no one asked. Leaving then coming back to see him pushed it's kinda tiring.
Big E is the guy I feel most sorry for as he’s a guy no one has a bad word to stay about him and then he was struck down with a serious neck injury I hope he gets something that keeps him in wrestling as he’s a guy who still has a lot to give and we could all be a bit more like Big E the world would be a better place
Some days I think Vince is still salty about the Attitude era being a success because he relented some control and it made stars bigger than the WWE....
Backlund winning the title was just an angle, he wasn`t supposed to replace Bret in the longterm, plus the chicken wing got over as a heat drawing move.
Theory is incredible, but, as much as I love him, he was shaky on the mic at times in 2022. His best promo was after the failed cash in though when they had him beat the living hell out of Seth. That made me believe they werent just gonna bury him, and I predicted the Cena match 6+ months before anyone else did, because he literally is the next Cena, except with indie wrestling skills. Cena had minimal in ring skills for most of his career but, was an amazing SPORTS ENTERTAINER! Combine the two? Well, you'd have someone like Randy Orton or Daniel Bryan, the complete package of wrestling and mic skills.
Sheamus' 1st run. Pushed too hard, too fast and people bitched left and right that he only got the push because he was a HHH guy, when it wasn't a good time to be a HHH guy yet.
How to book Batista's 2014 return properly: 1) Daniel Bryan finally beats Orton at Survivor Series 2013 2) Triple H forces him to defend the title against a returning Batista the same night and he loses. Batista is the new Champ. 3) Bryan wins Royal Rumble 4) Bryan vs Batista at WM30

I think that was evident from the showing at Wrestlemania with Cody’s loss and Triple H’s piss poor “the story is never over” excuse. Don’t get me wrong I’m not taking anything from Reigns…he’s done amazing work as the head of the table but we need more main title competitors like back in the attitude era days. There are several wrestlers who can compete and win at that level so Reigns keeping the belts for so long as a part timer doesn’t make any sense to me.
I wouldn't care if Roman was SmackDown champ for 1000+ days or whatever record they are going to go with, its that he has both belts tied up and is a part timer: I like to see at least one of the main titles defended on evert PPV/PLE - it just makes the matches more exciting and interesting when there is championship gold to be fought over. Backlash is coming up and they've already said Roman won't be there... if he wasn't holding both belts we could have had a main title match like a champion Cody defending against Bobby, Brock, Gunther, Drew or Sheamus... or Drew vs Sheamus fighting for the title... or Bobby Lashley vs Brock fighting over a belt

Part of Billy's problem is he had asthma. Without the breaks he got in tag team wrestling he blew up to easily and match quality suffered.
