Ford has priced the 550 out of the market just not worth the money any more, its a nice truck though. I bought mine in 2000 XLT 7.3 ,4wd , 6 speed manual with a 12 ft rugby body for 37k out the door.Those days are long gone it still runs like a champ only repair the entire 20 years was a water pump and batteries.
Isn't a real hook, instead of a cable, not a lot safer? And you wouldn't have to leave your cab to hook or onhook! And what happens if your cable breaks?

Does that have the 7.3 gas engine ? No salt box ? Figured you would have a big old salt box on there or a brine setup.

Why no diesel?
For us the gas is a better option. It weighs less, costs less, and we don't have to worry about gelled fuel or starting in the winter.
I agree with you 100%. The diesel is not always the best option.
