- Taped in performance at Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre, the 2001 New Orleans production of Rupert Holmes' Broadway hit "The Mystery of Edwin Drood."
In this scene, Your Chairman Mr. William Cartwright (Eddie Collins) introduces the Dickensian character of choirmaster John Jasper, played by Mr. Clive Padget (Vatican Lokey). Frustrated by his lust for his pupil Rosa Bud and drawing deeper into a laudinum hallucination, John Jasper gives voice to his growing madness.

Jasper is my favorite role I ever played - back in 1989. Drood is a memory you'll cherish forever!

Awesome! Just saw Drood on Bway, loved this song so much I went looking for performances on UA-cam. Great job here, love the change in body language at the "knowing this is so" aside. Some nice subtle touches here in a very BIG song!
I found this as I was looking for songs for solo and ensemble, and if I would have had the score for this piece I would have performed it. I still may in college, and you've given me a very high bar to jump. I think this is the type of challenge I need, so thank you very much, and I hope you'll post more songs like this, because I look forward to it.

I just got done doing Drood as the chairman as was very displeased that they cut this number as it is my favorite...but really a stunning performance not only in character but musicality as well
