At 48;30, I started really digging the colors. Reminded me of the colors I often see in Vaporwave stuff, if that makes any sense. Early 80s/early 90s vibe, to me at least. Cheers.
I love that style, the retro futuristic depiction of 80's cities. I'd love to paint something like that one day. This one has dried quite dark, so its lost that neon glow unfortunately. But will be easier to use as a ground for the painting that goes over the top. Sorry for the late reply, things are manic at the moment!
Had to disappear unfortunately! But yes, I've seen that movie, I think it's just called The Lighthouse.... Lighthouses certainly have something about them. They feature in the Bioshock games to an extent. Won't be too romantic with my crowd hopefully, more board games and unhealthy cooking than wine and roses! Nice to hear about the art book, I don't have any books on Chris Foss, got an ebay search for one with a red and white spaceship on the cover, never got around to buying one though. I like his work! Funny you mentioned the vape pipe! There was a BBC news article today about the number of young adults who are taking up vapes over smoking, and I was also half listening to a LotR related video on youtube at the same time, and I wondered if a vape pipe existed. Thought they must, but then I'd never seen one! Sounds nice. Would be great if you could get one made from wood. About halfway through Raining Sushi and Doughnuts, it's a lovely diary of your adventure, encouraging me to do something similar, not much of a cyclist though, danger to myself and those around me! Sorry Billy, I'm so busy at the moment I'm only just getting round to replying to some comments. I'm currently burning the satanic candle at both ends and it's rather stressful! But I'm also having a lot of fun with this painting challenge. I'm loving my pipe! It's a very different way of engaging with the vaping experience, far more relaxing and contemplative. I think there are some real wood versions, but as far as I've seen they run into the £££'s. Cheers for reading Sushi and Donuts! When I think about that adventure, it's like another person did it.
