Yup... It is kinda disrespectful to cut off the end of the song, not just this track, any of by them just like Nightwish videos.

Joakim and Par worked on this song for several years since they wanted it to be memorable and reflect the special event it describes. Due to the pandemic stopping movie productions, they were able to hire a full movie crew instead of using a standard music video crew. Their experience and insight give the video a big screen feel and perspective. Interestingly, Joakim wrote this as a waltz, which gives it a different structure and sound than most metal songs. The cross at the end represents the commemorative cross outside Ypres, the site of one of the larger Truce gatherings. Par carves 2021 in this cross to reflect the 1999 date carved in the original cross.

Sadly it only happened this ONCE. They buried their dead and exchanged souvenirs and contacts. The generals on each side were furious it happened and these men were punished. Most were split up and sent to other platoons. Any attempts the next year for Xmas truce were shot.
Someone help me convince him to watch 1916 too.
Grandgrandpa 72 here. (German) My Grandpa was in Flandern.(Belgian) The Cross still stand there. Germany won the Soccer 3:2.

I hope that you also shared this to your wife because it's a soft and sweet treat for hardened hearts (with current events, we need this more than ever) and I recommend you to watch the Sabaton History episode behind this when you have time. A german soldier was even giving brithish and french soldiers hair cuts and yes a soccer ball was kicked around and some even exchanged gifts . I also hear heard there was one section that held the truce until after new year. Unfortunately once gas was used there was no chance of this happening again
Having served for over 20 years in the British Army. I will always remember a time when we were called to the front line in Germany, when the Russian mobilized and we as heavy armour were sent to counter this movement. Sat under a tree with a Russian soldier having a drink knowing that at any moment we would be killing each other.
I watched a documentary on WW1 some time ago and on some places the troops stopped shooting at supper time and even exchanged food.
You're right man. These guys had no actual reason to be killing each other, except their superiors ordering them to. Higher level than that, wars only happening because governments wanting more land or whatever. Some people find this a beautiful story or whatever but I find it super sad because it shows how the actual soldiers would be treating each other if they didn't have orders.
You should let the credits roll, or the outro on other artists if they have one. Often in the case of Sabaton, they give more detail on the event, person or asset they are singing about. On this one in particular, your audience would have learned that the closing music was credit to Floor Jansson (from Nightwish and as a solo artist.)

If you want an awesome live song with Sabaton you should react to en livstid I krig (a lifetime of war) live Scandinavium Gothenburg.
The album Carolus rex they had released during that time is about a part of Swedish history called the era of great power (stormaktstiden in Swedish) from a time when Sweden was a much bigger nation with ambitions of expanding.
The album was released with both a Swedish and English version, the difference being that the Swedish one tells the story from our/a Swedish soldiers view while the English is more from an outsiders view.
It is the Swedish version they played at that show so be sure the subtitles are on , I was at that show and all I can say is that you will not regret it.

Nice reaction to a very powerful song! I love Sabaton! Got into them thanks to Dan Vasc and his covers of them on his UA-cam channel. I'd love to see reactions to both Sabaton's and Dan's versions of The Last Stand. I'll watch any Sabaton and any Dan reactions, though.

this was possible in the first winter of ww1, later there were to much hate and bitterness to be able to do this. but it was a beautiful moment of humanity among all the violence.
Agreed. I’m also sorry I didn’t listen to the credits fully…didn’t know it was an Easter Egg/ also I am very pro of supporting both Floor/ Sabaton & all the people who worked hard on the art etc.

I highly recommend Sabaton's cover of Motorhead's 1916 the song was inspired by the Battle Of The Somme during WW I Sabaton's video for the song Pays tribute to all soldiers who have died in all the conflicts through out human history as well as a tribute to Lemmy Kilmister stay for the credits so you can hear the amazing Cello work of Tina Guo who was featured in Sabaton's Steel Commander video I would also recommend the animated videos Stories for Night Witches and Lady Of The Dark 🖤💀🦇💣⚡️🤘

First off, thank you for your service. We as a nation can not be grateful and appreciative enough for brave men and women like you and your wife. Second, please don't cut off the credits that roll at the end of Sabaton's videos. They give credit to even the lowest person on their crew and show their appreciation to them, because without them, the video wouldn't come together, just like wars aren't won alone by generals....it's the men and women with boots on the ground who deserve much of the credit for victory. Still, a fantastic reaction!!

Ignore all the moaners , keep cutting the credits . The more they cry and get upset about it the better 😂 . Sabaton fans are just as irksome as Nightwish ones .
Liked the reaction a lot, as usual, but very disappointed in the disrespect, not only to Floor (of course she's great) but to pretty much all the hundreds of people who worked on this video, from digging trenches and catering to the crew to the VFX artists and editors. Will never understand why reactors feel like they have to cut everything short - it's not like UA-cam commands you to use less than 20 minutes on a video...
I love Nightwish and Floor. Wasn’t intended to cut short or be disrespectful. I even let it play (some of the credits), this video actually is one of my longer videos. I just didn’t know what I know now. I’ll try to be more careful in the future for my videos but remember I have never seen the video (so I didn’t know what was coming), like you did. All good, I'm still subscribing. ;-) It's a pet peeve of mine - comes with working in the creative industry myself and understanding the wish for more recognition of the crew who made works like this possible. And of course, the singer being Floor (and recognizably so) kind of added to that. Hope you still get the chance to listen to it for yourself one time. I just wish I would have known there was an Easter egg, especially with Floor. I love Sabaton and Nightwish/ Floor in this instance. Also, I’m still finding my footing here as a music reactor (haven’t been doing this years and years …yet 🤣. I’ll try to keep an eye out next time. Hopefully, my next Sabaton reaction will be even better. Again, honestly I’d never intentionally miss an opportunity like this (if I knew it existed beforehand) much love ❤️
