Trump: I should Tempo this card that grows every turn, which I picked specifically for late game, on turn 4. Trump 1 minute later: I should start thinking about fatigue here.
Out of all the cute shit I do like about Trump, this is the one I don't like: he has no consistent strategy outside of blind greedy value. He's absolutely a purely tactics player and will not consistently make decisions that are in line with previous ones. Again, the only exception to this is blind value greedy plays, like 4 turns straight of "My hand is too full ugh I gotta dump cards" followed by instapicking a Thoughtsteal out of a discover. That by itself would just be a tolerable flaw, but he can occasionally let his (entirely unearned) ego out, like in another video when he says that aRPGs are too easy for a big brain like him and that effectively only simpletons that like to see big effects for loot would like them (based on.. his experience at level 1 in the d4 beta). He's a solidly average player who plays the fool for a character, and that's what people like about him. He isn't some galaxybrained strategist that he'd like to pretend he is.
It seems like with phaoris, archmage staff and paladin's treasure (not to mention just general weapons like aldrachi warblades and reaper's scythes) you just put an ooze in your deck. I mean 1 ooze would have helped trump and his opponents a LOT in this video.
Zalae disagrees. He is one of the top duels players right now and he thinks that ooze is too bad on its own to put into your starting deck. That said he did also say that if it’s in a bucket with other good cards, he might pick it up part way through the run.
Yeah, considering how insane that weapon was in the final game, I gotta agree. Ooze seems really important cause some of those weapon treasures are goddamn nuts
@@trDewy top player =\= knows everything about the game, theres a definite argument for ooze with all the powerful weapon treasures, and even potentially taking out a regular weapon is really good value.
43:00 my biggest problem with hearthstone. Once health or durability hits 0, that character or weapon should be dead, not able to restore itself back to life basically.
That's a very niche issue. Weird that it'd make it as your biggest problem with the game. I barely ever see it happen, and I'm never bothered when it does. It's not like it's exploity or anything, and I am positive Pharaoh's blade is like one of the only instances where in a weapon can hit zero durability and not be destroyed. Of ALL the hellacious BS in Hearthstone, these rare interactions have to be among the most inoffensive.
@@FilthyNobeard if you think that, please, go back and rewatch the time during the kings bane rogue epidemic where it had lifesteal and tell me that wasn’t offensive when players would literally kill themselves and then heal after being dead and keep on their way
@@TheSlick44y Ho, I lived it. Still not a big deal. Particularly because that was such a short lived deck, let alone that it wasn't even that good. Though even if I somehow misremember it was actually around for a long time and was oppressively good (not annoying, good) There's still the point that this is an incredibly niche interaction and outside of the deck doesn't really happen very often.
At 46:11 he makes a misplay, he should have played Wave Of Apathy FIRST, then he should have played Cult Acolyte, and then he should have played Gift Of Luminance, so that the 1/1 copy of Cult Acolyte could shill have his Spellburst to be used on a later turn.
I feel like this game mode needs to have at least a chance to offer you buckets that synergise with your treasures, increasing for every round you whiff then resetting, and also a bucket that removes three chosen cards from your deck to ditch a little trash along the way.
Probably the easiest way to balance shaman is to get 2 totems when the overload has actually taken effect ( but seriously who gave this treasure to priest??)
I had pretty good succes (12-2, where 1 loss was a disconnect I was clearly winning) with a small spell-based priest deck deck. f.e. Wandmaker, Onyx Spellscribe, the 4 Mana 3/6 Spellburst Dragon, Raise Dead, Thoughtsteal and even Arcane Giant. And very important is the Wave of apathy-Cabal Acolyte-Combo, as seen in some of your games :). Very strong as treasures were Sticky hands and the Archmage staff. I'm not the best player, but with this deck is was totally dominating nearly everybody.
Really what is this Shaman bullshit. I was complaining about Mage back a few years ago watching Kripp playing Arena and enemy Mage is like Damage spell, damage spell and repeat til close to fatigue and then "ok, finally done". But Shaman is like "Fuck you. 5-100 aoe damage. Again. Again. DODGE THIS. DODGE. DODGE. DODGE!" and the downside being like "Oh no.. you can trigger your passiv button.
