After her graduation announcement today, I just wanted to come back and say how thankful I am that this playlist introduced me to Aqua, and inspired me to learn Japanese
Thank you very much for this playlist. I became aware of hololive via the Azur lane Collab, but it was these clips that pushed me into the rabbit hole, and eventually Aqua became my oshi. Goodbye to Aqua...
On that stream Aqua also put baked potatoes in the chest in front of Shion's house as a present for Halloween. There's also a video of their intercations on the launch day of the hololive server, so they have some cute moments too.
This was my first time experiencing Aqua and her cute and funny personality. I wish her the best. And thank you for clipping her and allowing me to experience this!
Had to come back to the series that first got me hooked into hololive after our onion hit 1 mil. She seemed really shy back then, can't believe how much she's grown
The Neighborhood Wars is what really got me into Hololive. Best of luck to our onion! You shall be missed but fondly remembered as a Hololive legend. o7
It's amazing how almost 5 years later, that same sign still stands in front of Shions door. Shion moved houses twice since, but the sign is still there.
Because the house is legendary museum. Shion herself seem afraid to destroy stuff. Because it's the history of their relationship. Her final house is that snowy castle, am i right? But since shion rarely play Minecraft especially nowadays, that place already abandoned so quick after the completion of the construction 😅
This was the very first Vtuber video I've seen, and I'm convinced this was the best possible outcome. Catchy songs, memes, catch-phrases, that's all good, but this video really feels like a lowkey introductory episode of a TV series. From the title of the video, I learn that this pink-haired girl is Aqua, before even clicking on the video. In the very first minute I learn that Aqua is mischievous but within acceptable boundaries, as she replaces the sign. In that same minute, I learn that there is someone named "Shion", who Aqua seems to be at friendly odds with. Then I learn that Shion is who Aqua's neighbor is, as she explores Shion's house and is amazed by it. This made me anticipate what Aqua's house looks like, and as the second minute comes to an end, I see her house and learn that she might be... living in her own little world, so to speak. Yet she acknowledges that there is a huge power gap between her house and Shion's, so now I know that Aqua isn't thinking of herself highly (i.e. she is not a jerk). As she starts complaining about how Shion's house is blocking the sunlight, Aqua knocks on the house instead of speaking to Shion about it, which makes me realize that I haven't seen Shion yet, which only adds to the anticipation to see this other girl. But Aqua is too busy speaking her piece, so introducting Shion this soon would detract from the experience. Then Aqua starts putting down the sue signs, and this reveals that Shion's last name is Murasaki. In the same vein, I learn that Aqua's last name is Minato. This is a very expository part of the episode, but it's justified in-universe. The best part of the sign scene for me is when Aqua picks up the "Neighbor A" pseudonym and introduces a third character into the story, A-chan, and immediately describes that A-chan is a big senpai and both Aqua and Shion are lower in the hierarchy (which I now know exists). And the last cherry on top, seconds before the episode ends, Aqua says that the compensation for blocked sunlight must be diamonds. Combined with all previous events in the video, it solidifies that these people are playing the game and are 'living' in it, i.e., this entire scenario would still work even if it wasn't just a streamer playing a game, but a day in a world which this game represents, and Aqua, Shion, and possibly even A-chan were characters in said world. And of course, there is part 2 right there, with a different girl on the thumbnail, which makes me think it's Shion, and now I want to watch it to see the payoff to Aqua's invitation to court. And just like that, I'm in the rabbit hole before part 2 even finishes. That was such a great way to start 2020. Thank you, helpless. Thank you, Hololive.
