Here's something about the original Megabyte. Megabyte was depicted more as a Chicago mobster than a hammy supervillain. A similar thing happened with the original 1996 pilot trailer to the 2001 Danish-German-Irish animated film, Help! I'm a Fish, in which the main villain was depicted as a Brooklyn mobster rather than a dark villain. Let me guess, Voldemort was originally meant to be played by Al Pacino?
*SPOILER ALERT* - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Imagine he was like this in the Last Episodes. "I See my Charade is at an End! A Pity! We would have made a perfect Couple!
The style in this first ReBoot promo looked a lot like the music video "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits which Ian Pearson and Gavin Blair created the music video back in 1985 and that's how the idea of ReBoot was formed!
"You can surf the static on your hoverboard ifyou'regoodenough." *Inhales sharply.*' "Should we do a second take?" "Nah. This is all being done on a computer. It'll sound great."
Got here from Digg, which didn't make the UA-cam poster clear, had a "TV Mode" beta that had a wall of text covering part of the video and no obvious way to contact them about the problem.
1990? Probably made for next to nothing? It's not even close to being horrible. It's not great, but the promise of a fully CGI show in the 90s was a big deal.

Same guys who made that movie.
The very first all-CGI TV series ever, so glad that I grew up on this and many other classic 90's TV shows.
glad the reboot we got (1993-2001) was fixed to NOT look like this
+Kai Hiwatari 1994.
I think they should go back and do this.
"You can surf the static on your hoverboard ifyou'regoodenough." *Inhales sharply.*'
"Should we do a second take?"
"Nah. This is all being done on a computer. It'll sound great."
Reboot definitely came a looooooong way from this!!

raphaela ratzlaff 1994
Nice!!! ReBoot is the best show ever!
You can tell that this isn’t the full animation... There was much more to it, that weird whirring noise at the beginning is an indication of something
*top 10 best looking anime*
So instead of a typical British villain, Megabyte was originally going to be a New Jersey Gangster?
Still better facial animations than Mass Effect Andromeda
This looks like the sort of 3D used in commercials from the 90s.
And, PSAs! Where's Mr. Funercise?
And most people bitch about how terrible it looked in 1994 but how it looked in 1990 is way worse!
Thank GOD they changed Megabyte.
OH wow "Bad Data" .... this is so sad and unbelievable how the much better and cunning Megabyte evolved from this lol
Got here from Digg, which didn't make the UA-cam poster clear, had a "TV Mode" beta that had a wall of text covering part of the video and no obvious way to contact them about the problem.
You can see how these characters evolved into Enzo, megabyte , hack and slash and even bob.
So cool how much it changed before they got to the final version.
That sounds like Cody from SML. 0:30
Why does Hacker look like Frankenstein?
This was probably something they made just to show it can be done.
Yeah they explained that computers got faster and faster. Theres a later promo with the reboot we got.
Oh,wow - that was awful! (but what do you want for 1990?)
Love the ending 'buy this show, and they'll give me my lips back!)
MegaByte is definitely Italian!
Nah, this version's either from Upstate New York or Chicago.
Thank My County's Maple Syrup They Got Tony Jay to Save Megabyte!
i love to rumble and i hate to fumble!
This is my partner hacker
@@linkmaster8 That's THE Hacker to YOU!!
This is actually better than the second one. And the ending got a laugh.
megabyte's in that shit
wow.. that was horable.. its amazing it was ever sold.
1990? Probably made for next to nothing? It's not even close to being horrible. It's not great, but the promise of a fully CGI show in the 90s was a big deal.
OMG THAT was what eventually evolved into Megabyte
Yes.
Hermoso esto.
buy the show so i can get my lips back.
So funny! ;)
What the freaking heck is megabyte.
OMG I'M CRYING, THIS LOOKS AWFUL... XD
Well it was in the alpha stages of development.
I don’t think it looks awful
Even for 1990 that wasn't very good.
Chris Delaney yeah look at 1980's Pixar it looks nice even for that time
Look at this NBC ID, it was made in 1984! ua-cam.com/video/vckgYM4fR8Y/v-deo.html
They also didn't have the funding yet. That's what they were trying to get with this video.
