  • In this video, I will review the Wide Variant of the Whitins Barefoot Sneaker.
The Whitin Minimalist Barefoot Sneakers (Wide) are a great option for people with wide feet.
This shoe appears casual in design, but has a tough enough sole for light trail use.
The quality of this shoe is above what I would expect at this price point.

I wore a pair of whitins to hike the entire Appalachian trail Maine to Georgia last year these are incredibly comfortable and they are quite and grippy on the rocks ,loved that when you get your feet wet they dry extremely quickly, love these shoes , also wear a pair of kricley barefoot shoes too

Thanks Mark! This is great news for my wide feet. I wish though that they offered them with a flat insole. I'm wearing mostly Freet shoes which fit my wide fit well and are built a bit better, but are more expensive. Pretty much everything they sell is over $100. I appreciate you reviewing minimalist shoes for wide feet. Let's hope they they keep coming!

I picked them up early last year when they were released. I have a lot of Xero shoes, a Vivobarefoot Gobi 2, and some water shoes and these are much wider. I also had a size down. These are my go to beater casual day-to-day shoes. Incredibly durable and has been fine for well over a year. The fit is way different than the original, narrower version.

@@GrownandHealthy I’ve been using the Xero “Oswego” for years, they don’t last very long for what I’m paying for them now days though.
Been thinking about getting a pair of these since I can buy three pairs of them for one pair of the Xero’s.
Amazon says to size up one, is this true?
I know I can send them back etc but, figured I’d check with some real owners first to simplify things.
      Let me know everyone.

Thanks for all you do, you have been a massive help. I switched to barefoot after a plantar fasciosis injury caused by toebox/toesweep. Not having much to spend, the whiten wide was one of my first shoes back in 2021. I have been wearing the same pair since starting work in a screen printing shop in Jan 2022. In spite of how dirty they have gotten, they are my favorite pair of shoes. I don't run in them, but they have been a budget lifesaver for my day to day. I got rid of insert, and in the early part of transition used a barefoot insert for cushion on long days on concrete. FYI before barefoot I was a 10 1/2 (and wide when I could find it) I ordered the 11. Again thank you for all you do, I can Not imagine relearning to walk without your help.

I had to buy 13 and I am usually a 12.5 or 13(12 with five finger shoes) and I had to remove the insole and the sewn in layer under that and then it fit perfectly, found they fit a little small for barefoot shoes for me. They are one of my favourite shoes,
have lasted at least 3 years, seem like they have plenty of more life left and wear them more than any of my other shoes. Have lasted longer then any of my xeros. I’ve been wearing barefoot only shoes for 3-5 years and now my feet are extremely wide.
Because of you I tried Tabi shoes and do love your content as a fellow mid forties person trying to improve my health and longevity. Thank you for all your tips and content!

Great review. Had a pair about two years ago, but I found they were too wide which gave them a floppy feel. However, they're a great low-priced alternative to some of the bigger name brands in the minimal shoe market. Good pick up for those curious about barefoot but not ready to splurge. And agree! they do have great style (especially in blue w/ a white sole).

Some of my favorite kicks. Have them in grey with a gum sole. I did try out a similar model "Tober" however I noticed the sole in the heel of the knock off brand was actually much thicker than that of the Whitin's. So not quite zero drop on the Tober's. For the money, the Whitin's are definitely my favorite barefoot shoe.

Afterwards fatigue makes the bounce impossible. For longer distances I use Altra . Both minimalist and zero drop with thicker soles. It's like running on Clouds. Feels like cheating honestly.
