  • If you want to make about $1,000 per month on UA-cam, how many subscribers do you need to have? How many monthly views do you need to have? The truth is that there's not necessarily a direct correlation between the number of subscribers a channel has and how much money it earns. Some channels with millions of subscribers earn only a few hundred dollars a month while others with only a few thousand subscribers can earn millions. In this video I'll break down some of the math for you in how to make money on UA-cam even if you don't have a lot of subscribers.

    Mini-testimonial. A few weeks ago, I launched my first paid course (intro price of $49.00). I did only little 10 second shoutouts at the very end of a few videos and I already sold 3 courses (I haven't even sent an email about it yet to my list). It took about 2000 views (and again the shoutouts were at the very end) to get 3 sales. In terms of adsense, that would only have made me about $4. I'm just getting started but I can already see the potential.

    • @VideoCreators

      Yes! That's exactly it! Experimenting with different approaches to your sale will get you closer to the 1% conversion over time, but you're definitely on the right track.

    Yeah, almost 100k subs and my YT money seems to be going down. I don't understand how I can add 2 videos a week and my average view isn't down THAT much and yet my money is going down. It's crazy. Diversification is definitely the way to go. At this point. YT is only about 50% of my income. I'd like to get that a lot lower.

    In my experience (with another channel) to make 1000$ you would need like 3'000.000 -3'500.000 views from Latin America, but around 600.000 views per month from the USA , and it also depends a lot about the content.
    So there are a lot of factors, number of views, places where your videos are being seen and type of content.
    So some channels can make 1000 dollars having 500.000 monthly views ,while others need 4 - 6 times that, to make the same.

    • @SantistaFighter
      @SantistaFighter 5 років тому +15

      there is a lot of variables, making money just with adsense is a TON of work! On my brazilian channel (SantistaUSA) that has less than 30k subs, in Feb my channel had 731.411 views and I made U$1,063.41, last month I had less views (576.571) but I made more money (U$1,172.36), I could had made a lot more if majority of audience was from the US, US ads pays more.
      Focus on getting people to watch you first, avoid negative, politic, violence, trashy topics cause UA-cam will not let you monetize those videos, once you get going and see what's working then the money will come in!

      What you didn't mention Tim that was a long time ago when you was earning 10,000 dollars from tube with 3k subs and you tube has change a lot since that period if people are thinking they are going to make that sort of money now from a 3k subs they are going to be sorely disappointed the true fact is you need around a 100,000 views per 100 dollars for any real money from just UA-cam ads. Making money from UA-cam from just ads of any amount you needs millions of views ever single video and most people simply aren't going to do that there's just to much on UA-cam already

    Hi Tim, Great video. I had 1600 subscribers in 2018 as a small How to channel, and made approximately $1000 over a 12 month period. The analytics really provide great insight here. I can see that only about 10% of my viewers are subs. That 1000 dollars over a 12 month period was just Adsense dollars, but the majority of that income comes from 2 popular videos with 2 add breaks. One thing that is also important that you share often, is creating more content that is tied to the theme of the channel. I have seen that the more videos I produce on my topic, the more the revenue grows incrementally. Also, virality takes time with a smaller sub base. Friends of mine that have lots of subs do get lots of views more quickly, but after 6 months, the algorithm starts recommending the videos more regularly. It really comes down to content quality and interest as 90% of the revenue I am seeing comes from views that are not subs. Make great content, and of course, find other creative ways to monetize!

      Np Tim thank you for all that you do!!!! Also Tim I wanted to ask you two questions one related to the training you mention above and the other related to something else.
      1. I bought your course on your website titled "How to make youtube your full time job" or something along those line back when you had the special sale for it were it was 40 percent off or so (which I absolutely love and putting to work much of what you taught in this course) but the reason I mention this is because I want to know if the 50 minute training video your mentioned here has any information not found in this course since I know the course is a little older so perhaps the training might have some updated information about the idea of selling to your audience or maybe more clarification on the science of doing it. I just want to know if for someone who already bought the course for making youtube your full time job if there's anything in the 50 minutes training that would still be helpful for someone who already bought the how to make youtube your full time job course?
      2. I've heavily watching your videos on story telling as it relates to how to structure your videos to tell a story and recently found a video on youtube that's related to video games where the person literally did everything you mentioned in a video about story telling when you say introduce the character what they want then the obstacle and struggle then resolution. Now reason I mention this to you is because I wanted to share this video with you so perhaps when you make another video about teaching people story telling you can use this as a possible example to better help everyone understand the nature of not only the structure of story telling but seeing it in action in different type of content like with this one being for gaming content. I really think it can help lots of people so wanted to share with you in hopes it helps you and everyone else that is struggling with story telling in there content. please copy this title and paste in youtube search engine in youtube
      "Is it Possible to Beat Sonic Adventure 2's Hero Story While Only Playing as Rouge the Bat?" If you see this video then you'll see it literally has every single element you mentioned is important for telling a good story with the right structure

    Things you got abosulutely right:
    1% conversion!!!
    Dont monetize just on UA-cam, we sell digital courses, we have a best seller on Amazon, and our app has more than 250.000 downloads. The thing we make the less money for us is Actually UA-cam.

    • @VideoCreators
      @VideoCreators  5 років тому

      To be clear, not everyone has a 1% conversion rate. Mine is that high because sales is a regular part of my channel, but if it's not a regular part of your channel it may take a bit to train them to expect it.

    Last year I announced a 4 day women's wilderness workshop in Alaska- hang out with me and learn some skills, for $1200. I sold 5. Had a great time with the ladies and profited over $4,000 just for that one workshop. AND I have some nice video to advertise the next one! I'm still trying to figure out what kind of product/service to put together that will make $ for me while I sleep (digital product). And I know merch is always good. I usually stay away from channels like this, but you know what, i like you. You do your sales pitch yes, BUT you get to the point and explain it "humanly"...unlike 99.99% of all others channel that will beat around the bush for freaking half an hour with their "products" to then spit 30 seconds of usefull info in your face and call it a day...

    • @VideoCreators
      @VideoCreators  5 років тому +6

      Yeah, I'm not a fan of that either. I try to give away a lot of my best stuff. Oddly enough, people don't usually take it seriously until they pay for it, though. That's when they prove they're committed and actually get results. *shrugs*

    • @Driftuner
      @Driftuner 5 років тому +3

      @@VideoCreators interesting...well, from my perspective its the opposite. I only take you seriously and would consider purchasing your stuff exactly because you dont waste my time and brain cells. I amazes me someone that is trying to sell a course but isnt able to put a decent video together. The video is the very first message in this chain, if that doesnt work then im def not paying for anything else. Kinda like "first you pay, then i get serious". Riiiiiight....well, good job bud and thx for the great info

Guy Harvey sells fishing merch, I really don't think I would. At 314 subs and 139,200 views in 17 months, I feel I'm just wasting my time. Cheers mate Thanks
